  1. And I really hope they don't do something dumb like gamble away our prospects on bad players. If they make a trade it has to be a lack of a risk(in before there's always risk). Proven track record, healthy players, et cetera. We don't have the depth in the minors to trade for a Mazara and just hope it clicks.
  2. I'm really curious to see what teams are going to make certain players available. Cubs are an obvious one as I almost certainly see them doing a shake up but there are going to be more.
  3. Which is why it doesn't make sense really to trade for him. We aren't in the position in 2020 where he puts us over the top. This team should be around 80 wins next year. Let the Braves give up a Drew Waters or something for him.
  4. I don't even know what Boston is going to be asking, but I am sure many teams could and would blow our offer apart. Sox aren't trading Madrigal or Vaughn, and he is going to cost at minimum close to a top 50 prospect.
  5. True. But if for whatever hypothetical reason we somehow convince him to sign with us long term I'd be fine emptying the farm for Mookie knowing we have him for years. Then we just don't trade for him. We aren't in a position in 2020 to be trading the few assets we have away on 1 year deals. I am only doing this if we can ink an extension before the trade which is probably close to a 0% chance.
  6. I posted this in another thread, but I only trade for him if Boston allows us to negotiate an extension with him before pulling the trigger. I don't think he is going to be crazy expensive trade wise since it's only 1 year but they are definitely going to want a piece that might be better spent elsewhere.
  7. I don't like Haniger the same reasons I don't like Nimmo, Mazara, Dickerson, G. Polanco et cetera. You are essentially gambling they have a good year/stay healthy while giving up our few tradeable prospects that have any value. Haniger is RH, btw. We are better off signing Castellanos or Ozuna for just money, even though I'm not that high on Ozuna and would rather get Nick, their bats show. If we are going to move any of our tradeable assests I'd rather them be for the Benintendi's, Conforto's, Brian Anderson's of the world that are around a 3 WAR staple. It won't happen though because we don't have the assets to grab those guys. Grab Nick Castellanos, Cole or Strasburg if you can, Wheeler is getting a QO attached to him and I don't like that but if he is best available give him money. Grandal if available you grab him to give flexibility to DH/1B/C between Abreu, McCann, Collins, and Yasmani. Even though I am pretty sure the FO would look at a Grandal as a luxury signing and not a need. Get JDM if he opts out. This should be the 2nd priority behind SP. If Moose is there you sign him and stick him at 1B/DH which negates Grandal. Kole Calhoun sucks and I don't want him unless they have decided to give Mookie whatever he wants 2021 which won't happen.
  8. Just because I don't want Joe Maddon destroying our bullpen, mismanaging starting pitching, playing guys out of position for the funsies, and out managing himself in a way only Joe Maddon could do does not mean I want Renteria. He also makes 6 million a year. If Maddon would be an option in the first place it would mean Ricky was gone.
  9. Madrigal and Vaughn aren't getting traded. Especially when their payroll is under 50 million after arb is considered and the window just cracked.
  10. Yeah, it would be really fun watching things like Jose Abreu play 3rd base and Zack Collins leading off. Sign me up
  11. Cooper, Ricky, and Steverson all need to go. But nothing is going to happen aside from maybe an assistant getting moved.
  12. Yep, Maddon officially gone. If he doesn't retire I see him in SD or LAA.
  13. This has been a fun season despite the record. Big corners turned by 3 of the core players and Eloy has looked like we thought he was going to look all of September. Now sit and wait until winter meetings.
  14. It appears Madrigal can draw some walks with his .400 OBP in both AA and AAA this year. That is something this teams bad, even if he OBPs .350 next year that would be huge. If healthy this team should have good pop next year adding in Robert, an actual RF, and a 1B/DH.
  15. Jose Abreu is the worst player to ever play on the White Sox.
  16. He has a year left before FA. There is no way Boston gets someone close to Robert or Kopech.
  17. If we could negotiate an extension with Mookie before trading for him you do that all day. Not that this has any chance of happening.
  18. This is more in reference to the poster that thinks JDM/Abreu/Vaughn/Collins could somehow work out in the DH/1B positions. Unless Vaughn is Luis Robert at the plate he's not going to be up next year.
  19. There is no way that works next year. Collins also plays 1B/DH and would be counting on some of those AB's. They should be signing or trading for an actual MLB RF this off season. The chance that JDM/Abreu (Who will both be on multi-year contracts) + Vaughn being in the lineup at the same time would be a handful of times a year at best. It doesn't make any sense.
  20. No, I don't think he's going to be up within a year of his draft date. And especially not if JDM and Abreu are signed.
  21. This. I believe in Collins. I see him being a .250/.350 guy. Which I would absolutely take with his power.
  22. Unless Vaughn absolutely sucks, he should be up sometime in 2021. What are they doing to do with Abreu (DH), JDM (DH), and Vaughn?
  23. I'm on the JDM train. That would require Abreu getting like a 1 year deal though which I don't think will happen.
