I fractured my right thumb, tore some tendons in it, and ripped the UCL in my left thumb off the bone at work. So I'm professionally drunk the next 3 months.

He can still give us 1.5 more years. I would still keep him around since we have some uncertainty with pitching. Although he is also uncertain he's not a bad pitcher. 5 or 6 million is pretty cheap for what he is capable of.

So on the topic of pitching, Cease and Kopech are almost certainly going to be on innings limits next year. Do you think there is a chance they start off in the pen to "extend" them for the end of the year? Kinda how Sale was brought up? Depending on how they're doing, that could be a real issue because I fully think we can contend next year.

I am really happy they took so many HS guys regardless if it ends up working out or not. I hope this is the strategy going forward.

That's a really bad way to run a professional baseball team that should be contending. I'm glad Jose enjoys his time here, I just don't see how it works 2 years from now.

I guess I just don't see the value in giving a mid 30's defensively bad 1B a 3 year deal when his replacement should be up in a year or so. It's not just a money thing that's a roster spot. We're going to carry 2 1B/DH and 2 catchers? Limiting your bench options there.

There is no reason to extend McCann right now, we have him for another year. It's also counter productive for a front office to start extension talks when he's literally never been more valuable.

Funny enough, it's going to be pretty close. At least All-Star caliber.

Still. Gallo or Sanchez would have been my vote.

I see him slotted in the 9 hole. If the dude can hit .280-.300 with around a .350ish OBP and good defense he's worth it. We are going to have a shit load of power in the lineup already.
