  1. That's the only chance they have to get Max Clark.
  2. Nah. Reinsdorf hates the Cubs more than anything. He thinks they take money out of his pocket and his favorite player playing for his mortal enemy while his team goes thru another spectacular failure might be enough for him to finally call it quits or at least kick Hahn to the curb for allowing it to happen.
  3. So many good players getting released because teams don't have the roster spots to keep them. This is what Dumbfuck Manfred wanted.
  4. This is already the second time Tristan Peters has been traded. Absolutely LOVED him at SIU.
  5. I want him to sign with the Cubs more than anything. That could be the straw that finally breaks the camels back.
  6. I'd take Quintana over Clevenger all day long. I'd want no part of that F'n guy.
  7. Abreu replacing Gurriel in Houston makes all the sense.
  8. I wish this had a chance to be true. I'm down for any scenario that kicks Grandals bum ass to the curb.
  9. Hahn will low ball him and say they tried. 3yr/$100M sounds about right.
  10. Absolutely. It's a starter profile. Plus FB, above avg BB, plus plus change and avg command. That's a better profile than Giolito and Kopech and up there with Cease.
  11. I don't think it is. That's the going rate for a starting pitcher and Reynaldo is clearly a different pitcher now. He cleaned up his mechanics which led to improved fastball command and a changeup that is nearly unhittable he just doesn't have to use it enough in 1 inning stints. A team will look at that changeup and say why the hell isn't this guy starting.
  12. Noah Syndergaard got a 1yr/$21M deal last year. He was avg at best and started a freakin World Series game. Reynaldo wil be at 1yr/$3M coming off an excellent season with a history of starting. Yes he will have a lot of value.
  13. If they're not gonna put Lopez in the rotation they should trade him because there will be plenty of teams who will. He only has one year of control but with a projected abr number of a little over $3M. That will make him a very attractive cheap starter for a number of teams. Trade him to the Rangers for one of their infielders or to the D'Backs for one of their outfielders. He's way more valuable than a 6th or 7th inning releiver.
  14. I'a tell you. They "lost" a bunch of money last year.
  15. The Sox have an abundance of players that won't need 40 man protection. Ever.
  16. This will be really good for Jose. He can go to a team where he has a chance to win and he can solely concentrate on that instead of being the team babysitter.
  17. History tells us Hahn won't be that aggressive in a trade. He'll most likely trade one of his many fringe prospects for a dead cat bounce guy. An Alex Verugo, Mike Yaz or Trent Grisham type.
  18. He must've heard Pedro Grifol hates white players.
  19. That's going to happen when you sell out for power. You're going to be a bad hitter.
