  1. Intereting he said Indy league instead of a college summer league. He must be ineligible to play in those as well.
  2. I would be surprised if they kept Sanchez. He's a horrific catcher and they already have Sano and Kiriloff for 1B/DH. I don't know where Sanchez will get his AB's.
  3. This isn't a cba negotiation. No one is setting arbitrary deadlines.
  4. and he's pitched well in his career against the Astros. 107 IP 3.43 ERA 1.180 WHIP
  5. I would think a guy like Reynaldo Lopez would interest them.
  6. Boy that's a lot of hand wringing over a late 2nd round pick. If the Sox wanted to pay him 1yr/$18M they would have offered him the QO but they decided he wasn't worth the risk. They had to make that decision back in Nov and didn't have the luxury of hindsight. Just because another team was willing to take a tremendous risk doesn't mean they made the wrong decision.
  7. Stock the farm? It's not even that good and their best ones are far away from the big leagues. Meanwhile they have holes all over the field and in the pitching staff. They're a few years away from being competitive again with or without Correa.
  8. Letting Bryant, Baez, Schwarber and Rizzo all walk then signing Correa to a monster deal makes absolutely no sense.
  9. Rough times to be a college pitcher. They're dropping like flies. I'm sure it's completely unrelated to all the velocity programs they've been using.
  10. They have to convert on a middle of the order run producer. Castellanos, Conforto, or Schwarber.
  11. I was going to start a thread about this. I think Jensen kicks off the reliever frenzy.
  12. After being locked out, the stalling, the ploys, dirty tricks, numerous arbitrary deadlines, ect the players getting a full service time season with full pay might be their biggest win.
  13. It's just a small last second ask. Just agree to it! I want my baseball back!
  14. Gotta check the fine print, Boys! Manfraud gonna sneak in that any big market team spending over $175M and finishes with an over .500 record will lose their first round pick!
  15. I love Keith Law @Orn L. Yes. Manfred said when he got the Commissioner's job that he was determined to get an international draft. Now they're throwing it into CBA talks like it was an afterthought. He's always wanted this, and the reason is that it saves owners money. You should assume anything the owners present in CBA talks is there to reduce their spending on players, and work backwards from there.
  16. Mazur has made an incredible jump. If he's able to hold this new found stuff all spring he'll definitely be in the mix. As always It's an interesting list. Jordan Beck is a super toolsy high ceiling athlete who is starting to figure it out at the plate. He's higher on Brock Porter than I would have thought. Rocker not being in the top 30 is interesting too.
  17. They need an ace. They need a guy that can matchup in game 1 against TB, Hou, Tor and that guy is no longer out there. Sean Manaea has that ability but like Rodon he can't be counted on to be healthy in Oct. If they did acquire another middle of the rotation guy I would assume they would trade Keuchel for some salary relief but that doesn't move the needle much for post season success.
  18. Kopech is stretched out and should be in the rotation on day one with zero restrictions. He's 26 years old and 3.5 years removed from TJ. He's as strong as he'll ever be and there is absolutely no reason to hold him back any further. I had a lot of questions about him going into last season and he answered them all. Let the man do his thing.
  19. Law has Cam Collier ranked 5th in this years draft class. Holy shit.
