  1. One thing is for sure...everyone on this team will have plenty of RBI opportunities.
  2. The NIKE swish is big IMO
  3. The Triple Crown stats are still what most fans relate to. I do agree that RBI's have a dependency on others being on base. HR's and BA are just as valid today as ever. There many be better stats available but the average fan doesn't know them readily like he knows Timmy's BA or Jose HR total. When the MLB gives up on the Triple Crown I'll know you've won them over to your point.
  4. Congratulations! Now tell me this isn't going to be our year.
  5. This projection would be an OK floor but I expect appreciably better assuming good health.
  6. My remark was made in defense of Timmy in response to flavum pretending surprise that people still care about stats like batting average and rbi's. Had nothing to do with Jose or where he might be ranked.
  7. I never thought Puig was going to be a hot commodity but this offseason has been a surprise. Looks like he could be had for not much other than incentive laced deal. Maybe our Cuban clique could convince him to get serious about his career. Nice bench piece with lots of upside at the right price.
  8. That's because I've never seen a bad hitter lead the league in either category.
  9. Anderson is AL batting champ and has unbelievable defensive range. No way he is not top 10. The kind of evaluators that think Jeter is a GG type SS must be doing the judging. Timmy needs to take more walks and eliminate the dumb error stuff...but I would rather have Timmy than half the guys on that list. I admit that the SS position is deep with talent however. If you squint...Timmy is a five tool guy.
  10. For sure Grandal fits our club better than Donaldson
  11. 13 is a fair floor for our as yet untested lineup. We have unproven potential for top 5 rating. As a biased fan I believe we will end the season closer to 5 than 13.
  12. I agree….280 with 40 HRS pluu 100 rbi would be good goals along with improved defense. He just might demolish those #'s.
  13. One of those rare occasions when you are both correct.?
  14. I selected Holt for his versatility but Pence would probably be the choice for spelling Mazara. The FO seems sold on the idea that Mazara is the man... so I'll trust in that for now.
  15. Because when you get to February...you can see baseball starting if you squint.
  16. Brock Holt would probably have my vote for the best versatility for the money. Might at best be useful.
  17. I was just reading some Sox Fest notes that Jose Abreu has the same goal as you. Hope you both get to perform the Anthem this year. Good Luck!
  18. Opening day can't get here soon enough.
  19. Pictures on White Sox Official site of equipment truck being loaded for SP. Not long now people.
  20. We all agree...bless you.
  21. Hypothetically we may want to retain Anderson, Eloy, Robert, Gio, Cease, Lopez, Madrigal, Moncada, Kopech and/or Rodon so that they remain with us for their entire careers. Several of us have tried to say...make every effort to extend whichever of these guys we want as part of the core as early in the 6 year control window as possible. So far RH has done that with the first 3 players...that's great. I hope most of the other 7 players also extend. But the reality of baseball economics is that the player that can't be extended should not walk out the door with minimal or no compensation. Everyone on this board knows I have the hots for Madrigal. I want Rick to try to extend him now if possible. Madrigal is not going to get the same size extension as Eloy or that Moncada would get but he should be extended if possible. Since we still have 6 years of control there is no rush but it will be cheaper than if he is in the middle of his arbitration years and doing great. However, if after 4 years of trying to extend him an RH determines Nick will not be reasonable...then trade him while his value is sky high. Absolutely everyone here wants to retain Moncada and I presume most of the other players I named if they are performing. I'll bet most of them including Moncada agree to extensions if offered. Lopez and Cease still need to prove their worth and Rodon has Boras so anything is possible. RH will have to determine who is worth the gamble for the money wanted. If I were the Cub GM...I would offer my absolute top offer to Bryant now. If he says no...I trade him now with 2 years remaining of control in order to maximize return. At some point in time his value to the organization is being reduced.
  22. You are being obtuse.
  23. The discussion was originally about extensions and where they fit in to the current 6 years of control system currently in place. Moncada was used as an example and there you go. No one is actually talking about trading Moncada.
  24. True...you do need to find the team with assets that line up with your needs. If it was easy we would all be qualified to do Rick Hahn's job.
  25. Ask yourself what you would give from our major league club for 1 year of Betts. How much for two years?
