People talk about Abreu having value as a mentor. I have seen many of our players talking with McCann in what looks like mentoring type discussions as well.

I'm more than fine with keeping both of them. My feeling is that if you have a team that on paper is going far in the playoffs...two quality relievers of this stature make any of those teams heavy favorites. Collins as a back up catcher to McCann works well for bring him along. Catching 2 or 3 times per week and occasional DH and pitch hit duties. Fisk and Karkovice did this for some time.

3/$18 is about what today's price is I would imagine. Tomorrows price might be more like that 3/$36 number or zero depending on what happens starting tonight. Personally I'd like to lock him up for some cost certainty at the position.

I would have brought Robert & Madrigal up yesterday. We have seen Moncada /Eloy/Anderson and Gio all take time to adjust to the major league game. Use the time now when wins & losses don't matter. They will develop faster playing at the ML level although they will hit rough patches like the players I mentioned. Find two starting pitchers and a Right Fielder. We would compete for the Central next year.
