  1. Quality start when you don't have your best stuff... not that bad. Need to get an occasional hit to expect to win.
  2. Eloy looking more capable with his defense in LF. Not really the liability people thought he was going to be.
  3. Soon they will be talking extension.
  4. Our offensive is in a coma.
  5. Another example of why people want electronic balls & strike calls.
  6. Gio going through this KC lineup like a hot knife through butter.?
  7. Solar completely overmatched.
  8. I think the next few weeks will tell us a lot about the 2020 plan. I don't agree that trading Colome and Bummer means we are not going for it. Many of us have said a trade is reasonable if we receive a true overpay. If we trade them for just some prospect because we can...I agree...that would not be a good sign.
  9. They also speed the process of getting to the ML's.
  10. I like when are guys have good attitudes like this.?
  11. Yes...now we can afford the two starting pitchers and the right fielder we really need.
  12. Eloy and Robert both want to be in the major leagues. Eloy's agent made it happen, In a few weeks I predict Robert's agent will also make it happen. Eloy did not sign the extension because he needed money. Just like Robert he knew he would be brought up shortly. He wanted it now...so does Robert.
  13. Yolmer was for several years underrated in my opinion. He was a slick fielder and the switch hitting was a useful tool for balancing the lineup. Like regular people doing ordinary jobs...he has gotten very expensive for what he does. Garcia can do more things as 25th man and do it at less money. Sad but it works that way in most jobs. You simply don't want to price yourself out of a job. Asking for more money in arbitration doesn't work for everyone.
  14. Don't be obtuse.
  15. No one is exploiting anyone. Both the players representatives and Rick Hahn know how the system works. The player would like to start his major league career and the club would like the same thing. Work out an arrangement just like Eloy did. The fact someone already has 25 million in the bank is not that different from someone with 2.8 million in the bank. They both want to play in the majors ASAP.
  16. One that has depth in the outfield or starting pitching and is desperate for two good relief pieces.
  17. GM's can work out the details of adjusting payrolls to fit the deal. My main issue is that we get pieces that play at the major league level...not prospects.
  18. If Trout can be extended...so can Robert.
  19. Oh boy...Castillo's back. This is exciting. Can't wait for tonight's game.?
  20. Since everyone knows the rules I'm guessing RH and Robert's agent could work out an agreeable extension to bring him up now and make everyone whole.
  21. Because I want immediate help to next years team...I think Adbert Alzolay a 23 year old RH starter and Hayward would be my asking price. Cubs get salary relief from Hayward who fits our RF problem and Alzolay is ready to make the jump from AAA. I might put Tilson in the deal to sweeten the pot.
  22. Two runs scored isn't going to win many games. The offense is lethargic.
  23. They are a good fit with Cubs IMO.
  24. We might be seeing quite a bit of Herrera as the FO hopes to trade him at the deadline for salary relief.
  25. At this point it cost nothing to be patient. Losses are secondary to finding who might develop into a useable piece next year.
