Pretty sure 4 mil per year for 3 or 4 years would get it done. He is a very nice piece on a championship team. Could play in 3/4 of the games just filling in for minor aches and pain days for other regulars & giving regular rest. His attitude looks to be A++ as well.

Sure is nice when the pitcher coming into the game is someone you have confidence in. Bummer and Colome are that for most of us. Marshall and Burr pre injury have also been good.

We need pitching and he is a pitcher. Certainly I wouldn't overpay for a half season guy. Just pay half of what a whole season would have cost. I would prefer a 3 year deal and I really don't think his posturing about a 1 year deal means much. The right offer would get it done unless he's a greedy idiot. In that case...I don't want him anyway.

We are allowed to trade for already major league ready players. I hope someone is looking for quality but blocked players. The team is starting to look rather good positionally. The prospects already in hand look to be enough to be very good. Of course any team has room for another 5 star ass kicker. As always...pitching-pitching-pitching is the need. Trade for it-pay for it in free agency-and draft it. Need a never ending supply of quality arms. We are fine already at every position as we wait for Madrigal & Robert to arrive. The return of Kopech and Rodon and Arrival of Cease gives us playoff potential now without adding anyone. In the off season find a #1/2 type guy and another 3/4 and this team contends.
