KW thought he was getting Kevin Brown.

Sox 2005 "OF"
You play Dye, Pods and Rowand. You could dh Everett, play Timo every now and then. What's the question?
-
Well how is 05 season looking
What really looks bad is the Sox when our 3 year contracts with our starting pitchers expire. By then Buehrle, Garcia and maybe even Contreras will be getting more than 10 million per year. Gee, I wonder if we'll sign them? So enjoy the present! This is as good a starting staff as we'll have for a long time.

fifth starter schedule
I wouldn't sweat our national tv appearances.

Chicago Tribune Sox update
That rate for 200 innings would project to be a mere 49.

NY Rumors about Vazquez
You won't be able to find him. He'll be under the radar. Stealth Kenny.

Rumors thread
I remember Belliard making ungodly plays against us last year, ranging way into the outfield and taking away hits. I would think he made an impression on KW and Ozzie. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Sox make a run at him.

WSCR reports on Clement
Not sure Beane would want Cotts back.

Why isn't anyone calling him Podzilla!?!??!
lol!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
It comes down to this
I'd prefer Perez, settle for Lowe. Anyone but Munoz, Diaz, and the other AAA1/2 guys we've been seeing.

Why isn't anyone calling him Podzilla!?!??!
Well if we traded The Horse, call him The Pony. His game is speed, it's alliterative and just stupid enough to catch on. Back in the day they'd have called him The Polish Pony, but (1) it might offend in these sensitive times and (2) he may not be Polish.

Why isn't anyone calling him Podzilla!?!??!
I'd prefer to call Willie the best darn secondbaseman in the minor leagues.

Stats help re: pods
Stolen bases are generally over-rated. The first guy I read who made a study of this was, naturally, Bill James in the early 1980's I think, and IIRC, he said you needed to be successful more than 65% of the time before you broke even in the risk/reward analysis. Having said that, the good news is that lifetime Posednik is an 83% successful rate - 113 for 136.

Cubs-Sox comment about Clement
Kessinger was even our player-manager for a while, as Veeck saved a few bucks.

Another bonus to the Spod trade??
I think he can be a platoon guy - keep him away from lefties. But even as a platoon guy, he's always gonna look like he could be such a good player if only.... but "if only" never comes.
-
Another Trade???
Look, if you're not gonna put any thought into your posts.....
-
Another bonus to the Spod trade??
IMO Harris lacks baseball instincts. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think Willie can be "taught" how to steal second. Don't get me wrong, some people can be taught how to get better reads and jumps - but Willie looks lost, unconfident, and I don't have high hopes that anyone other than Willie can get into his head.

Lee for SPod, Vizcaino, and PTBNL
So, what's new everybody?

Rumors thread
Can he play second base? I know he can hit.

Ozzie on Frank
Tiny blurb in today's SunTimes said that Ozzie doesn't expect Frank to be ready before June.
-
Is Dye our guy?
Are you kidding? Jermaine is to Dye for.

White Sox Sign Jermaine Dye
And somehow we'd wind up with the wrong Garland. "The White Sox today acquired former De Paul University guard Gary Garland..."

White Sox Organization
It's not a joke, but it's not enough to get you where you want to go. If God drops everything it might - MIGHT - get you a division. But it's not a coincidence that it takes 90 million to 120 million to make you a realistic playoff team, a team that could win a League or World Championship. This is our problem as Sox fans. We live and die and hope for our guys, but the money thing is that 90 million pound elephant in the corner, and it never goes away.

KW on the radio Wednesday
Brad is too steroidy.
