Well I know none of you are hurt, because you landed on me.

How about some more game strategy? We're losing 4-1 in the biggest game of the year, and Loiza's 96th pitch produced the Twins final run, against a lefty I'm pretty sure, and THERE'S ONLY BEVINGTON'S INVISIBLE RELIEVER UP IN THE BULLPEN. Our next manager needs to know how to manage pitching. And I totally agree with the posts about the pitching rotation. JM needs a clue, and he'll never find it.

Loiza's been our MVP, but he says his arm is tired and he had consecutive bad starts. his next start is probably Tuesday in Minny. That's the game of the year for him. It's a distraction to worry about the Cy Young competition - if he doesn't win the award, we probably go home from KC on 9/28, and that will suck.

I want to compliment all of you. Nobody got on and flamed on Paul Nauert for the bad call in the fifth. It seems like everybody here is a little more mature than Harrelson about this. You notice Hawk didn't go on and on about the Oliva pick off in the sixth - he looked safe to me.

There was a story in the paper that in his last start he pissed off Gardenhire. Mays came back to the dugout after a rough inning, and went straight to their defensive charts, complaining that his fielders were out of position. Gardsy went ballistic on his ass. I think Cy Mays is a thing of the past. Cy Santana however is here.

POLL: SHOULD Sox fans root for the Cubbiies or
Al Lopez Ghost (old) replied to Be Good's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Cubs are my third favorite baseball team. First is the Sox, Second is a tie, with all of the other major league teams except the Cubs, plus every other minor league team, independent leagues team, college, high school, little league, tee ball and sandlot team, and third is the Cubs. I never want the Cubs to win any game of any sort, mainly because of their fans. A bold prediction: IF the Cubs don't make the post season, and the Sox do, the first thing you'll hear is Cubs fans chirping about attendance. It happens every time. -
Tuesday night had nothing to do with Wednesday night. If I may, however, just a tip to Brian Daubach: GET THE HEAD AROUND YOU SON OF A b****! There. I feel better.

White Sox offense since the break

We're playing another brand of small ball...the ball gets very small in the distance when we bat. -
Tonight's Keystone Combo

I don't see starting Graf against Radke, but maybe that's just me. -
With another (tough) lefty tonight, and a tough righty tomorrow, who will JM start at second and short tonight? My guess is he starts Jose at ss and Graf at 2nd, to let Robbie be fresh for tomorrow's afternoon game. Your thoughts?

(1)It may not have been the dumbest thing Jerry's done, but it's the most recent one, so it seems dumber. (2) Marte hasn't been in a game since Sunday, so I think he's good to go tonight and tomorrow. (3) You gotta be real bad for everybody to wish Koch was in, but Panny pulled it off.

It would be exciting but I'm not getting my hopes up. If he did sign with us, tho, it would lead to a lot of "KAZMAT" signs.

ILL DO THE HONORS OF CONGRATULATING

Another thing about Carlos, even if he's going bad, HE ALWAYS HUSTLES. -
You'll also notice that without fail our starting pitchers stay on the bench for the rest of the game, instead of going in and showering. This team supports each other in a lot of little ways, a very good sign.

The Twins will be tougher than ever. Don't forget we got a huge break on that call at third. We have a big edge on them in terms of power, though. It's all on Jon, and us scratching out some runs. And don't underestimate Radke either on Thursday. If we manage the sweep, it will be just this side of an unbelievable accomplishment. To paraphrase Andy the Clown "CMOOOOOOOOOOOOON You Walkups!"

The HBP of Pierzwhatever was a Buerhle curveball. I don't think that caused a lot of hard feelings. If Minny wants to shake things up, it may not happen until next week.

Momentum, confidence, that stuff stops at 7:07. Then it's up to Jon, in the biggest start of his life. Go get'm kid. This could be real special.

I've seen prior discussions of going after the Japanese guy, but that would probably involve giving the Japanese team millions of dollars before getting the player's name on a contract. I doubt that our pockets are that deep.

I think that the first series, best of five, is 2 games at the home of the team with the inferior record, and then 3 if necessary in the city of the team with the better record. Now if that's right, we'll have the worst record of the three division champs, so no matter where the wild card is, won't we open up against one of the other division champs here, for two games, Sept 30 and Oct 1, and then hit the road? Can anyone confirm this? The Score this afternoon was putting in their half hour updates that we would be playing in Chicago on the weekend, which I think is wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

WGN Morning News Reporting The Cell "Half-Empty"
Al Lopez Ghost (old) replied to RibbieRubarb's topic in Pale Hose Talk
On WGN, a casual negative remark about the White Sox is just somebody buttering up her bosses. Tribune, WGN, Cubs, they're just one company. Don't be surprised by any unethical, non-journalistic, act. -
Does the UD policy hurt attendance at the Cell?
Al Lopez Ghost (old) replied to JUGGERNAUT's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I would never go to a game in the Upper Deck - I checked out the view in 1991 and thought it was too steep. I go to about 30 games a year, splitting a season ticket. Before they restricted the mobility of Upper Deck fans, on big crowd games, like the Cubs, playoffs and Opening Day it was impossible to get in and out of the men's room after the 4th inning without missing two innings. So I have noticed the benefit to the lower deck fans from the new policy. I endorse it. I would also like to emphasize a point somebody made in this thread that might go overlooked. Rob Gallas is a huge asshole who should be fired, hired and fired again. This guy couldn't draw flies on s***. His one idea that was original, turn back the clock, was his daughter's idea. Unfortunately she hasn't had any others. So she leads Rob 1-0. By the way, I think Rob got his job because Piersall choked him, when Rob was a reporter. -

This will have quite an effect on the Kiss Cam. -
Delgado hasn't done much the 2nd half. A-Rod won't make it because his team sucks. For us to win the division, Frank probably will have continued pounding the ball. So, if we win the division, it's gotta be Frank.
