Quite a few people at the game, myself included as well as the diehard M&Ms fan, left early when it was 7-4. For me, I was thinking it would be a routine, ho-hum finish with Kimbrel/Hendriks, and decided to finally get concessions, look at merchandise stands (hour+ long line so forget about it), peek the shop, and beat traffic early since it was a one-lane road and I had work today. I am absolutely kicking myself and have been mini-depressed today.

Yep, there wasn’t much outside of t-shirts I could see at the merchandise stands. I really wanted to buy stuff, but each merchandise stand was an hour+ long so it wasn’t tenable. I got food fairly quickly and parked quickly so I’ll give them credit for concessions and parking.

Yankees might be short-handed but they have no excuses. We are as much at a disadvantage as they are without La Russa.

When I was 7 playing hockey at a state tournament game in Orland Park, a dad on the other team threw a garbage can on the ice and was arrested. It almost hit a kid on our team. (Crazy enough, that kid now plays for the Reds — Mark Payton.)

I remember when he came up and made his 3 IP start, I commented he was absolutely filthy. I’m glad he’s on the team and get excited everytime he’s brought in. Great thread.

I love George! You should meet him - he’s actually really nice. Owns Windy City Limousine. Used to small talk to him a few times in Scout Seats Lounge. I think he changed seats this year because Scout Seats Lounge is no longer in use - it’s being used as visiting team’s clubhouse. So it makes no sense to spend money on Scout Seats only to have to go to 200 level RF to eat - and they’ve toned down the Scout Seats food this year.

My brother is a pro athlete in another sport. I read absolutely nothing online/social media about him or his team because online sports fans can be so aggressive. Fortunately, he's well liked by his team's fan base and that fan base is generally nice, but many other athletes are not as lucky. Of course, even if 97% of comments are positive, it's human nature to have that negative 3% stuck in your head. I think a lot of pro athletes suffer from mental health because of toxic online fans. Another thing is there's women (called puck bunnies in hockey, not sure what they're called in other sports) who congregate on sites like Tumblr to "gossip" (more like invade) the personal lives of athletes. They literally make shit up about the athlete's (and sometimes the SO) personal life that's defamatory.

There are 390 tickets on StubHub. We all have to make a concerted effort to wait until Thursday when prices come down. If we start buying tickets now, we end up screwing each other.
