QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) Willie has looked like a starter all season so far. Ozzie has done a great job of getting him good match ups. Plus he looks like he isn't afraid to steal a base. The problem with Willie, and I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere, is that he never head first slides. I know it's a preference thing, but it's my preference that he not waste outs by sliding feet first. If you think about it, the feet first slide is definitely slower. I can't say how much, but if it's 1/5 of a second slower, that's obviously what's hurting him. It's obvious that he's got speed. That theoretical .2 seconds is a big deal.

at least Anderson continues to rake... .338/407/.623 with 4 HR's so far. The only bat that's hotter right now is Jerry Owens. After a slow start, he changed his stance, and since, he has torn up AA pitching. -- .318/.363/.341 w/ 8 SBs

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) So Gload has been unavailable for days, Ozuna could only pinch run. Uribe was not ready. Why wasn't someone called up last night? They played 3 short after an off day. That is absolutely crazy. Agreed.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) Well if his shoulder is hurt like Jim said then how is he supposed to PH I'm saying, with all due respect to Jim, I heard the same reports that he did, I don't believe he was hurt that bad. I wasn't calling for Gload to PH last night. PHing him last night, would have meant Lopez would be stuck on the roster an extra 3 days. I'm not discounting that Ross may be hurting. I just don't think it's bad enough for him to see some DL time. It's obvious from the playing time in the first few weeks that he's the 25th man on the team, behind even Neal Cotts. He's taking the fall, because 3 other guys are a little gimpy, but don't need to be gone for 15 days. Gload = Jared Reiner.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) For all of you that b**** out Ozzie for PH Timo over Gload... Willie, while Rooney & Farmer said he was "dinged up" on Tuesday night, they didn't mention why. I've seen nothing in print on it. The real reason that Ross is "injured" is that they can make it retroactive to the last time he played, April 25th. I suspect that this is a phantom injury, or is something that wouldn't really require a DL trip, but since the other guys who are also hurting don't need a full 15 days to recover. Ross is the sacrificial lamb.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) That fat f*** that was almost directly behind home plate and kept getting up, tapping his head and was on his cell phone constantly. He was mostly screaming s*** when the sox where pitching and this guy had a sox jacket on. What a dumbass fool. W00t, I'm famous.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) Am I the only one who feels okay with Willie at short? I think he'll be fine. I feel just as comfortable with Willie out there as I do with Ozuna out there.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) And exactly ONE ball was botched... SO THE f*** WHAT! It was one play. GET OVER IT.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) Well, if Uribe sounds like he's going on the DL, and Ozuna's hand is swollen, it's going to be a while before either of them are close to 100 pct. I highly doubt anyone would claim Timo, so we could get him back off the waiver wires if KW and Ozzie can't live without him. Uribe's not going to the DL. He says he's fine, and wanted to play tonight. Schnieder is just being cautious.

It's amazing that all of you can judge Harris on 2 innings played at short, during which exactly ONE ball was hit his direction. You wouldn't proclaim that a guy can't hit after seing one AB, how can you proclaim he can't play a position after one fielding opportunity?

I bought my DVD player in 1997. (actually it might have been early 98) -- I probably haven't bought myself a DVD since 2002. I stopped going to movies soon after I got out of high school. I stopped caring about movies a few years later.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) It sounds like Uribe may take a couple more days to heal. Hopefully, Ozuna will be able to start at SS tomorrow. Otherwise, it's Willie at SS. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws That link is over 24 hours old. Lots can change in that time. Both could still be out, but I suspect that 22 hours from now, one of them will be good to go.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) Pokey Reese might have been a nice move this offseason. He's garbage at the plate, but he sucks up everything... He's also about to go under the knife. The Mariners are looking at having Wilson Valez at short until at least the ASB..
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) On an unrelated note Pods has 68 more homers than RBIs, is hitting over.650, with a .775 OBP, and over 1.400 SLG. Wedelstedt was working that game. So the Sox didn't get credit for the runs, but MLB ruled that they were HR's. Scott is the new HR king.

He might actually be a sucess. He added a cutter to his arsenal last year in like his 3rd or 4th season at AA, and he's been mowing people down ever since.

Cheat's ChiSox Blog is officially defunct. I've moved. The new site is more interactive. It's part blog, part forum. http://southsidesox.com Stop by. Check it out. I'm still unpacking things, so pardon my mess.

Nathan with his first blown save of the season, but his ERA is still 0.00 Crain comes in, and his ERA is still 0.00 That bullpen is going to win them a TON of games.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) I really would have liked to have Zambrano pitching for us this weekend. He'da plunked at least one Oakland batter, MLB threats or not... I woulda like to have Z pitching for us after Ozzie gave him a couple Prozacs.

Happy Birthday Kirk. LOL

QUOTE(ptatc @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) from the reports I've heard only the Sox were warned not Oakland. That is why the Oakland pitcher was not ejected. That's f***ing retarded. Oakland hits 6 batters, and are not warned. Chicago hit 0 and gets a warning. That's f***ed up.

somebody should tell the bulls the game started already

I saw this coming a year ago -- You can't complain about the umps when you taunt them like Ozzie did.. http://ss***men.blogspot.com/2004/08/south...loudmouths.html
