Why is that??? It was that way when I visited friends back in the day. But I would go back to Iowa and it was bud light/miller light/busch light (whichever was cheaper) (usually Busch)again... Though I was called rich for drinking that.. Also Icehouse was big when I was in school. It was cheaper and had more Alcohol by Volume, so that was usually the drink of choice... I used to keep it in the freezer of my dorm fridge.

Tex, where do you find those? I'd like to see more, from both sides. Those 4 seemed like they were all written by members inside the Bush camp... Substitute resoluteness for pig-headedness and the first doesn't seem so flattering. stalwart = stubborn

...is f***ing AWESOME.... 8 HR's in his first 9 post-season games. I can hear the price raising for this guy... We won't get him. We will be in competition with both the Cubs and the Yanks, and no matter the $ figure he's offered, they can match, and he will chose one of those over the south-side.

I know ballboys/girls are instructed to hand balls to the fans not throw them.

As others have said, it's an aquired taste.... HS you should concetrate on the watered down variety of beers... Busch Light is the best option (i think) I'm sure others can chime in on this one, but it's been a while since I've had such crap beer. College (freshman year): You're in illinois, so for some reason Keystone Light is everywhere at keggers... Move on up to bud light/miller light -- they have more flavor, yet still less than BUD. they won't get you as f***ed up either-- Also discover Jagermiester... Vow to never drink it again (sophmore year) -- drinking bud/miller light daily, carry a flask with your favorite spirit to events. Rediscover Jagermiester, vow to never drink it agian. Junior year -- you start getting more into the mixed drinks -- I can't speak from experience here, every mixed drink tastes like funny coke/funky sprite to me, so I never advanced that far. Discover Jager Bombs, vow never to drink them again. But by the time I was 21, I would only drink Miller light in MASSIVE quantities. I was impervious to it's effects at this point. I would still get drunk, but if I drank only ML, I would wake up without a hangover of any kind. I had developed my palette to appreciate heavier more flavorful beers, I had already discovered Honeywiess, Fat Tire, and Yueng leung(sp) before my 21st, reaching that magical date just allowed me greater access to more choices. I found a great micro-brewery just after my magic day, unfortunately it subsequently went out of business, but those were good times... There's a hierarchy drinking. You've stepped onto the bottom rung of the ladder.

I've heard that Polanco had great range... He's above average to a Gold Glover, depending on who you talk too...

This much I will say about Timo, he seems to be a good clubhouse guy, who's willing to anything that's asked of him.... That being said, most of my heat for him come from all the praise that Hawk and DJ draped on the guy.... He played below the level of a replacemt (AAA) player, and yet because of some clutch hits and defensive plays, he's going to be rewarded. You never remember the guy who walks in front of the HR, the guys who hits a two out double to start a rally, yet they are just as important as the guy who actually drives them in. Joe Crede was bad this season, yet we all remember his 5(maybe 6?) walk-offs. Does that make it a good season? NO -- If he had played better, he probably would have had less walk-offs, because we would have been ahead in due to run created by him getting on-base more often. And we certainly would have won more games because of him being on base more... Timo Perez is the same way, he cost this team runs last year because of his inability to hit, hit for any power, or get on base at a decent rate. I could care less about those few clutch hits... As I said in the blog before, I expect him to be back. It will pain me if that guy gets a multi-year deal. $1M bench player are supposed to be productive. They should bring me in for arbitration. I'm sure I'll put together a good case for the White Sox.

They will lose their final game of the season to Iowa, blowing their big ten hopes in the process... I've been saying the same thing for weeks, except about Minnesota.... After today's games, I guess I was just off by one state... -
Opening day line-up in 97 was the 3rd highest payroll in baseball, trailing Baltimore and the Yanks... in attendance, the Sox ranked 9th in the AL in 96. -- That's not exactly grounds for one of the highest payrolls in baseball.

BorASS is using the Chicago media to try an make Maggs seem like he has a clean bill of health. We all know this is not the case... Some poor team is going to get f***ed. -
More Minnesota Bulls***.... If Kenny makes that signing, it better be after soxfest. He'd be lynched otherwise...What steff did to him last year won't compare in the slightest to what I'd do. I can accept non activity more than I can activity just for the sake of activity. If you've got a limited budget, spend it wisely... Uribe has better range, is a more solid fielder, and posted better offensive numbers... His natural position is short. where's the upgrade?

We can't watch Bulls games?

CSN has not yet been picked up by Direct TV, Dish Network, Mediacom, or WOW..... They are competing entities, and I'm sure Comcast is extorting them for more money... The only one I know for sure that is gong to be up by the start of the season is WOW, and that's because that's what I have... Wow picks it up on Noveber 1... The others are all in some stages of negotiations. I can't tell you when they'll get their collective s*** together, but I would be willing to bet you're going to miss some bulls games. -
The FCC recieved 159 complaints for airing that one fox show, (Married by America?) -- The complaints represented less than .01% of all viewers. Fox and it's affiliates were levied with the largest fine in history. I'm sure the FCC has recieved more than 159 complaints for this already. I'm positive there will be no fine. /think about it.

was it peter gammons?

So awkward to watch.

That has something to do with it... I like Corey Koskie though... Seems to be that the sox have a better, chaeper option at short already in Uribe.

Guzman can go f*** himself. Dye will get a contract like Juan Gone got last year. He might be an option if CLee gets moved. Right now, Dye = a RH Carl Everett.
