Seriously, I've grown tired of the whole "God Bless America" thing... I usually step out do someting really american like buy a beer for last call, or at least a Hot Dog. I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but how are those people who lost thier lives on that day any more special than those who innocently lost their lives in motor vehicle accidents? They're both tragic and unexpected, yet one continues to be exploited for profit and votes and "patriotism". What makes one life of more value than another?

Don't even talk about talent... just on Basketball I.Q. alone Jordan/Magic/Bird > Tmac/Kobe/Shaq I'd take Jordan/Magic/Bird at the end of thier careers over Tmac/Kobe/Shaq. They just know how to play, how to win.

Why root for them? So, if they were somehow able to squeak by with a gold that we would have a simillar bunch of selfish streetballers over there thumping chests and bricking three's in 4 years. No. I'm rooting for basketball. And the game those guys representing our country is far from basketball. I'm not a big fan of Pro Baskeball, Period. There's too much Isolation and standing around watching each-other. I hated it when the Bulls did it with Jordan back in the day; I hate it now. I find the fact that these "professional" baskeball players piss down their legs when they see a zone defense laughable.

It's official... Though from what I've gathered from idle Internet chatter there will be a lot of complaining about the officiating... The US loses to Argentina in Baskeball. They now have to face the loser of Italy/Lithuania for the Bronze.

This has everything to do with the new ownership group down in AZ... They've installed Jeffrey Moorad as president(?). The way I heard it, The D'Backs still need league approval, or approval from league owners, before Moorad is official. In the mean time they don't want to do anything to upset the apple cart. i.e. paying a draft pick too much money, thus setting a bad precedent. Paying too much would make other owners mad. They are essentially forgoing signing Drew in order to install Moorad as Prez.
