QUOTE(ThinWhiteDuque @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 05:21 PM) Bowden will give up the world for someone with "flash"? Do we have anyone in the system that fits that description? Maybe the name "Broadway" would put stars in Bowden's eyes... I'm confused by this statement. Our Broadway lacks any "flash," and Bowden already has an L. Broadway at AAA.- Sox Should Make Signing Buehrle Top Priority
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 05:12 PM) If long term = the 2 remaining years on Crede's contract, I'll say...maybe. Let's look at the ecomomics of it. MB is signed to a long-term deal at below market value, one that can be picked up for an additional year again at below market value. The Sox would be stupid to sign anything prior to the end of this season with Buehrle. They may sign him following the season, tearing up the last year of his current deal. But I suspect they'll negotiate something before the end of Spring Training next year to a deal that doesn't take effect until the end of his current one (after the '07 season) Crede is signed to well below market value because of his arbitration status. He's a Boras guy, so that gives many here the false impression that the Sox won't deal with him. Crede wants a deal done, and he wants a deal done as soon as possible. The Sox held off on buying out his Arb-years this spring because they were worried about his back. If Crede makes it through the season without any back issues, the Sox will have him signed to a 3-year with an option for 4 faster than Pods getting thrown out at second base with Thome in the batters box. Also in that same article was a quote from Kenny and Crede that indicated they may explore options during this season. Crede's hit .345/.383/.645 since coming back off the DL in September, and was .289/.327/.622 in the playoffs, all while playing Gold Glove defense at 3B. I'm sure somebody is going to say that Fields is waiting in the wings so we don't need to sign Crede long term, but if there's one thing that KW has learned as a GM, it's that cost certainty is extremely valuable. Having two 3B signed on the cheap is not bad problem to have. Though I would argue that Crede is superior to Fields in every way. Having them both on the cheap will allow you to trade one for something of need/more value.- Sox Should Make Signing Buehrle Top Priority
Joe Crede will get a long-term deal before the Sox get to Mark Buehrle.- Greetings from... Joe Crede
Crede's incredible contact rate (2K in 48AB) is going to take a hit tomorrow.- Anderson's strikeout totals are alarming

QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) The Chicago White Sox hit the 4th most HR's in MLB in 2005. Hurray small ball! They're currently 5th in baseball in BB/PA- Danny Tanner (aka Bob Saget) at NU
Is this from the NW paper? They're showing their age. Saget was a dirty, dirty f***ing comic before he sold his soul on FH and AFHV.- AL Central Central
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 04:40 PM) So Scott Elarton is 0-4 with a 4.07 ERA. Bet he wishes he was still in Cleveland....that 0-4 might be 4-0 with that offense. He has now averaged just 1 run of support in his last 10 losses including 6 with that same indians team.- Orlando
It gets pretty tiring telling everybody that you're #1. I could see why his finger hurts.- BA Banner
Factually speaking, there is no gate B at USCF. Otherwise, great banner.- Sox vs Royals 4/17
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 07:02 PM) ??? There was an entire intro with Hawk doing the voice over with a Robot voice. It had something to do with Thome being a machine.- Sox vs Royals 4/17
HAWK IS A ROBOT- Sox vs Royals 4/17
Jose Contreras is 10-1 with a 2.03 ERA since 8/1/05. He's allowed just 4 HRs in 93 IP over that stretch. Amazingly, all of the HRs have been hit by the Tigers. He's walking 2.1 Batters per 9 over that stretch, compared to a pre-8/05 average of 4.2 BB/9. He's cut his walk rate in half, while limiting HRs. That's one great recipe for success.- 408.57 ft

QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 10:08 PM) Jeter caught the ball, took three steps, then went into the stands hard and came up bloody. There, I took something away from that play.- Game Thread - 04/16 Garcia vs. Towers
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) I've never pitched before, but I have to imagine it was hard for Freddy to get a good grip. So it's probably a good time to be throwing a bunch of breaking balls, right? That was disgusting.- 4/15 Games
I'm pretty sure they called up Paulo cuz we haven't gotten a hit from our CFers in a week.- Easter Dinner

QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 01:31 PM) It's all up to the offense now. The BJ's might not even get aother hit off Buehrle today. I'm sure he talked to Coop in the dugout and they got everything settled down. They might as well throw in the towel cause an angry Buehrle is coming out top pitch in the 2nd.
