  1. I’m setting in a Brookfield dive bar, 4 miles south of Madison, and I have to fucking hear Go Cubs Go and fucking Cubs fans happy after their stupid win and an 11-1 drubbing of the White Sox. This is an all time low of a half century of my White Sox fandom. Get the f*** out of our city and planet Jerry.
  2. Rick Hahn has earned each and every loss over his tenure. Godspeed on 100 losses and an exhumation of Hahn and everyone else in his organization, and every officer across the entire organization, for flushing a generation of White Sox fans down the toilet.
  3. Worse than James Shields for Tatis Jr. and Johnson? Worse than Jeff Samardzija & Ynoa for Marcus Semien, Chris Bassitt and Josh Phegley Wiggly?
  4. I can see the Sox and Clevinger agreeing to a rare acceptance on the mutual option, with the apparent zero interest this week despite the fact he has pitched well when healthy, and the Sox lack of internal option and relatively cheap $8M additional outlay in a tanking year vs. FA options. Perhaps if he doesn't do more s%*# someone will take him next July.
  5. I fear the complete lack of interest for Clevinger and the desperate straights of filling the White Sox rotation give at least a possibility Clevenger returns on the $12M mutual option ($4M sunk coast, $8M for Clevinger vs. other FA options). Would say Cease is the only lock, plus whatever innings they can coax out of Kopech. Touki could be a good possibility if he likes it here. Would say Scholtens and Banks are the likely other current roster possibilities. Davis Martin could get a few September starts preparing for 2025. Can see them also picking up a couple under $10M/year FAs to try to eat innings and perhaps trade at the deadline if one or both outperform contract expectations. That's not to say some of their previous prospects plus acquisitions could get call ups for injury or to reward solid 2024 minor league campaigns. That said, Sean Burke (7.61 ERA), Luis Patino (6.75 ERA) Jordan Leasure (27.00 ERA at AAA) are the only three pitching in Charlotte. So it's likely that you won't see SP prospects set to emerge for Opening Day roster spots until the 2025 season.
  6. The Sox are in the bottom 10, in many cases the bottom 5, for every single position on the roster, with the exception of Luis Robert and Designated Hitter. This includes the entire pitching staff, starters and relievers.
  7. If Tony La Russa returns, it is a certainty. 12. The White Sox over .800 OPS Club is down to one. Luis Robert .874
  13. I definitely want an 100 + loss season, will bring more calls for a complete overhaul. The Sox need to go 19-36 .345 or worse the rest of the way. Either Jerry heeds or season ticket sales bleed.
  14. He needs to be shut down for the season, either get surgery or condition over the next 6 months before spring training so he can salvage a future contract and the Sox can salvage prospects at the July 2024 deadline.
  15. Ozzie was 48 when he was shitcanned by Miami for being an assclown. Hasn't sniffed a legitimate offer since. He is a loud drunken idiot, and now he talks to a few hundred Sox fans during the season as Jerry's crony hire.
  16. They have a 24 man active roster, pretty much the same as when there aren't trades happening. They need to bring up a reliever and perhaps an OFer or Catcher. C (1): Zavala INF (5): Anderson, Andrus, Moncada, Remillard, Vaughn OF (3): Benintendi, Colas, Robert Jr. DH (3): Grandal, Jimenez, Sheets SP (5): Cease, Kopeck, Touki, Scholtens, Shitbag RP (7): CL Santos; SU Banks, Bummer GUYS: Cronin, Navarro, Peralta, Shaw
  17. What teams were they given? s%*#. Kenny had solid teams, teams always folded in the second half under Ozzie. The team wouldn't have improved under Ozzie during their "multiple championship contention window" the past four seasons either. The Sox need a new GM to bring in a new solid manager, and entire new broadcast team including those worthless crony hacks on pre/post like Ozzie and Garfien. Just like Eaton and Swisher, "nobody like you" either Ozzie.
  18. Haters gonna hate. Managerial Jobs the past decade: 2 Renteria 1 Grifol 0 Guillen I'm guessing he is such a s%*# bag, no team wanted him despite the fact he has been pitching well when not on the IL, including his last outing on Saturday. Hoping someone claims him, Grandal and or Andrus and irrevocable waivers. Was he only speaking to or texting Vinnie Duber? I agree it's likely he'll run out the clock in terms of commenting on the team's direction beyond trying to sell a non credible 2024 contention spiel.
  19. Really hoping for a Marlins (Alcantara, Avisail, Burger, Cueto) vs. Anaheim (Lucas, Ohtani, Reynaldo, Trout) or Houston (Abreu, Alvarez) World Series.
  20. In-n-Out Jake All others
  21. WDCB 90.9FM also a great option which streams over the phone + 2 week archive. Zero credibility with that first statement.
  22. I agree that Cease and Burger were the two best "sell high" guys beyond Lucas and hear what you are saying. Would you have took a package considered sub-par to flip Cease now? I prefer Hahn kept Cease for now if what was being offered was not commensurate with a pitcher of Cease's caliber and contract status. Several teams will fill their needs via FA, but teams with less money or those fretting over the BS "Luxury Tax" will be in the market for a pitcher they will pay about $20M-$24M over his final two seasons, less than half of what FA pitchers will cost salary wise. Cease will be younger than the FA pitchers, another selling point, with of course the offset of having to deal prospects vs. just cash. Hopefully there will be a better GM in place making the decision on Cease, Robert and everyone else still standing.
  23. I could see this, but also appreciated the fact he was holding out for a major return, and not willing to make a deal just to make one. Cease will still be valuable to trade this offseason or next deadline. I really liked the Lance Lynn / Joe Kelly (that they got this much back) and Jake Burger (that they likely sold high and traded an excess DH) deals the best. I think they received a good return from Anaheim. but hard to tell if Hahn couldn't have gotten more waiting until the deadline, with teams more desperate and plans like the Dodgers foiled because of Rodriguez's veto. Graveman and Burger were the two departures from the publicly stated goal of selling post 2023 FAs, but OK with going beyond that for these two players. I seem to be in the minority that the Sox were smart to wait on Tim and Yoan until they could possibly get a decent to solid return next deadline (Tim possibly offseason, Yoan likely in July with only 2 months of salary left + buyout). Wasn't surprised there was no interest in Grandal or Andrus, the remaining two 2024 FAs, perhaps a desperate team will claim on outright waivers (trade considerations are no longer permitted) over the final two months (players need to be rostered by August 31 for post season eligibility). I voted B, you can see posters votes if you click the far right.
  24. Grades should be based on who he traded and the players received with the stated goal of trading players not controllable after 2023, and obtaining future pieces. 7/26 Chicago White Sox traded RHP Lucas Giolito & RHP Reynaldo López to Los Angeles Angels for C Edgar Quero & LHP Ky Bush. 7/28: Chicago White Sox traded RHP Kendall Graveman to Houston Astros for C Korey Lee. 7/28: Chicago White Sox traded RHP Lance Lynn and RHP Joe Kelly to Los Angeles Dodgers for RF Trayce Thompson, RHP Nick Nastrini and RHP Jordan Leasure. 8/1: Chicago White Sox traded cash for Tampa Bay Rays RHP Luis Patiño. 8/1: Chicago White Sox traded 3B Jake Burger to Miami Marlins for LHP Jake Eder. 8/1: Chicago White Sox traded RHP Keynan Middleton to New York Yankees for RHP Juan Carela.
