Is Vaughn a good enough 1b to rebuild around?
South Side Hit Men replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He’s adequate at or not much above the minimum $700k salary. He should grow into more power as he reaches his expected peak seasons. No quality experienced person will come externally to fill any role of significance. Jerry is not willing to pay above the bare minimum to higher someone with experience, beyond 35 year BFF regrets. La Russa and Renteria "one season with the Cubs rebuild" were the two managers Jerry hired with experience in the new stadium. Jerry never hired an experienced GM. The results are to be expected. -
Do the White Sox have too much starting pitching?
South Side Hit Men replied to Dam8610's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The threads after Hahn won executive of the year were incredible. Hahn extended than fired Ricky after 63 games, signed Parrot and Mazara, bid against himself for four years on the Keuchel and Grandal deals, and was down to two starting pitchers to pitch in Oakland after a grueling 60 game season. -

Just don't like him on the team I'd like to root for. Nothing to do with on field performance. -

Kenny William said he was done when his current deal is done. He is the only one of the three who aren’t full of s%*#, so I believe him. Id wager it’s a good possibility Hahn got an extension after 2021, and will only remain or be promoted and remain until a new owner transfer period after Jerry is gone) -

Hawks said on AJ’s Podcast Jerry’s word isn’t bond anymore with Brooks Boyer around and that he hopes the Sox could snag a wild card spot. Said he still roots for the team, but he was crystal clear he has little confidence in this team, and reports last year were he thinks the front office is bad. I don’t listen or follow games Clevinger pitches (was out with a friend anyway), wish he took the loss today. Record remains the Sox have not won a series or consecutive games without Billy Hamilton. -
2020 was my favorite season of the Hahn era. The team gelled and played great together, there was a joy with that team. I was one of the few here who liked Ricky. He wasn’t the best manager by any means, but he steered the rebuild well, and I believe they could have won a few rounds if they had a third and or fourth starting pitcher. 2019 was my second. Went to the park a dozen ish times, loved the progress of the team, and could see the hope and progress on the horizon. Was too busy working to follow closely (follow all the games) pre 2019, 2015 was the worst season in terms of douchebaggery and embarrassment, more so off the field than on. Tony hire was disgusting, Clevinger kept the line moving.

College students don't or barely remember 2005. All they will remember about the past decade are watching in horror as the Sox played mostly poor baseball in those atrocious 1983 uniforms.

Come on Rick, sign Denise Solorzano and seal the deal!

I hope the Nevada Legislature gives them the finger. f*** hundreds of millions for these pieces of s%*#.

A 20 loss season is definitely a possibility if he doesn't walk away or shut himself down.

You need to eat $26.2M per MLB Trade Values, and I think that's a generous figure. https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/teams/467/

Very possible this remains a true statement.

More like his Baby Mama magic has caught up with him. Organizational Baseball Development falls under Rick Hahn's responsibilities. Need to start from Ground Zero with the team, perhaps keep a few people like Paddy.

More entertaining than watching Lynn pitch.
-
Not sure on how Hahn’s impetuous mid season extension of Lynn is Katz’ fault. Nobody on Earth could fix guys after their best by date, be it Lynn or Keuchel, Colome or Diekman, etc., etc..

Burger to start rehab stint in Charlotte
South Side Hit Men replied to joejoesox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Jake Burger has played with the White Sox the previous two seasons, including 51 games last season. Hard to call him AAA Depth, especially when he was arguably better than a good portion of the Opening Day Roster. -

Hahn and Jerry showed Abreu zero gratitude or respect while the season ended last year. They should have had a Jose Abreu Day his final game. Instead he watched them get their asses handed to them 10-1 on his final day as a White Sox. The only Sox receiving MVP chants this season has been Adam Haseley. The Sox pissed away far more than a $40M/2 year offer he likely would have at least considered to stay, including the $75M they committed to Benintendi, and several other players during their "multiple championship window." It would be one thing if this team was built to legitimately contend this season (or any under Hahn), but they had no intentions to field a competitive team with the several perennial glaring holes they bring back year after year after year. Jose is a fan favorite, an MVP and one of the few who gave a s%*# since Ricky was fired, including the worthless front office. He will always be fan's MVP! -

Funny, the clown posting "Lu Puss" last season is nowhere to be seen. Lucas Giolito is ranked as the 10th best starter (fWAR) across The MLB (2019-2023), and assuming he remains healthy is going to get paid this offseason. Hahn will have another significant hole on the roster. 1. Z. Wheeler 19.4 2. G. Cole 19.0 3. J. deGrom 18.0 4. M. Scherzer 18.0 5. S. Bieber 17.2 6. A. Nola 16.9 7. L. Castillo 15.7 8.
