  1. I’m thinking JR wanting to help his friend Tony succeed played a big role in increasing payroll to sign the players Tony had a connection to and wanted the past two years (Lynn, Liam, Luery’s extension, Kelly, Lamb). Tony sold Jerry on these guys, though not saying Hahn wasn’t also for most of it, plus guys like Kimbrel, Cesar Hernandez and Eaton Hahn might have coveted more than Tony.
  2. I reviewed Hahn's past three years in the GT yesterday, and it's even worse cumulatively than this one year sample. This is what I suspected would happen in 2020 after the Grandal and Keuchel signings, exacerbated further by Hahn doubling down on old and expensive the past two years. Hahn spent $205.8M for 12.8 net bWAR across the three years for newly acquired players. Hahn has $109.6M contract remaining over the next two years (9 total player seasons) for these players, most of whom are in their mid 30s, on their last major contract, and expected to be meh. Hahn's incompetence not only destroyed any chance at legitimately competing over the past three seasons, but has also handcuffed their remaining competitive window with this core. Still shocked there are STILL people posting today Hahn should be given 2-3 more years as if he has little to no responsibility for the previous decade. Remaining Contracts: $109.6M L. Hendriks $29.3M 2023 & 2024 Y. Grandal $18.3M 2023 L. Lynn $19.5M 2023 K. Graveman $16.0M 2023 & 2024 AJ Pollock $13.0M 2023 ($1.0M more possible) J. Kelly $9.0M 2023 J. Diekman $4.5M 2023
  3. The McCaskey Family is merely incompetent. Jerry Reinsdorf and Rocky Wirtz are incompetent douchebags.
  4. Keep Pitchers: Bummer, Cease, Crick, Crochet, Cueto, Giolito, Kopech, Lambert, Lopez. Keep Hitters: Abreu*, Mendick, Robert, Vaughn, Zavala. * - (Or sign within organization in another role (FO, Coach, Scouting, whatever he wants to do). Sell Pitchers: Aybar, Banks, Bilous, Diekman, Foster, Graveman, Hendriks, Kelly, Lynn, Martin, Padilla, Ruiz, Sousa, Stiever, Velasquez Sell Hitters: Anderson, Andrus, Burger, Engel, Garcia, Gonzalez, Grandal, Harrison, Haseley, Jimenez, Moncada, Payton, Perez, Pollock, Sheets, Sosa, Too bad Kenny couldn't have done this to Jerry.
  5. This is far too generous. The vast majority of new players Hahn acquired the past three seasons 2019 were expensive in terms of salary plus cost controlled prospects. Based on the numbers below, Rick Hahn Spent $205.8M for 12.8 bWAR over three years. Has $109.6M of mostly dead money over the next two years from these transactions, Cumulative White Sox Salary & bWAR earned through 2022 ($1.5M + player salary transactions): 2020 (Salaries pro-rated for the 102 game Owner Lockout): $98.8M 1.1 bWAR D. Keuchel $44.2M -1.3 bWAR Y. Grandal $43.3M 3.4 bWAR E. Encarnacion $5.1M -0.4 bWAR G. Gonzalez $2.2M -0.3 bWAR N. Mazara $2.1M -0.1 bWAR S. Cishek $1.9M -0.2 bWAR 2021: $64.2M 6.0 bWAR L. Lynn $27.8M 5.7 bWAR (Lost D. Dunning $1.2M 1.8 bWAR) = Net $26.6M 3.9 bWAR L. Hendriks $24.7M 3.9 bWAR A. Eaton $8.0M 0.0 bWAR C. Hernandez $1.7M -0.7 bWAR (Lost K. Pilkington $0.2M -0.1 bWAR) = Net $1.5M -0.6 bWAR C. Kimbrel $5.3M 0.0 bWAR (Lost C. Heuer $1.0M 0.6 bWAR & N. Madrigal $0.9M 0.6 bWAR) = Net $3.4M -1.2 bWAR 2022: $42.8M 5.7 bWAR A. J. Pollock $14.5M 0.7 bWAR K. Graveman $8.0M 1.1 bWAR J. Kelly $8.0M -0.7 bWAR J. Harrison $5.5M 1.9 bWAR V. Velasquez $3.0M 0.0 bWAR J. Cueto $2.6M 3.4 bWAR J. Graveman $16.0M 2023 & 2024 AJ Pollock $13.0M 2023 ($1.0M more possible) J. Kelly $9.0M 2023 J. Diekman $4.5M 2023
  6. When is the first 2023 Season Ticket Deposit Due? I can see waiting until after this date before the Sox announce Jerry is bringing the band back for another season. IIRC, they waited until after this date to announce Jerry hired Tony.
  7. White Sox Division Math 9/26/22: Congratulations Cleveland Guardians! You have played hard and smart this season. Hope you defeat the Kennesaw Mountain team for Karma and American League Pride. White Sox Wild Card Math 9/26/22: Seattle 2-8 White Sox 9-0 (Baltimore 5-5 or worse) Seattle 1-9 White Sox 8-1 (Baltimore 4-6 or worse) Seattle 0-10 White Sox 7-2 (Baltimore 3-7 or worse)
  8. Hands down the worst in Sox history. Only two have a lower winning percentage, but over a much smaller time frame (Hawk one season, Leslie O'Connor over three post WWII seasons).
  9. Pretty sure Jerry offered the job to Tony and he accepted in the Spring or Summer. Jerry told no one else until October, also told no one else about Tony’s DUI, also reported by Bob Nightengale. Jerry did tell his media hacks (Stone, Garfine, Ozzie, others) to go after Ricky to set the stage for a transition.
  10. Everyone is assembling for Hahn’s 10th annual parade. Good Guys Wear Black!
  11. That’s a better attitude than several on the club. If they sign him, I don’t think his bat will hold up at this age, but he is their best SS defender and they should move Tim to OF to play with Robert and Colas. I believe that’s his best position into FA and his 30s. He hurts you at SS now.
  12. Would likely been 9 out of 10 if they played the full 162 in 2020. They would have played actual quality teams in the East and West divisions, and they were down to two starting pitchers with 100 games to go (Lucas who was awesome and injured Keuchel pitching on fumes by Game 62). Hahn has one 80+ win season, and the Sox among the bottom near dead last among the 30 MLB teams under his watch (will post at the conclusion of the season). Hahn's 82 + Win White Sox Seasons: 2021 (93), 2022 (Needs 6-4 or better) Tony's 82 + Win White Sox Seasons: 1982 (87), 1983 (99), 1985 (85), 2021 (93), 2022 (63-65 record in the dugout) White Sox All Time Manager Standings by Winning Percentage: (World Series Championships and American League Pennants) .592 Fielder Jones (1906 World Series) .581 Clark Griffith (1901 AL Pennant - Pre World Series Era) .578 Pants Rowland (1917 World Series) .565 Marty Marion .564 Al Lopez (1959 AL Pennant) .551 Gene Lamont .529 Paul Richards .525 Bob Lemon .524 Ozzie Guillen (2005 World Series) .521 Eddie Collins .519 Kid Gleason (1919 World Series) .515 Jerry Manuel .515 Jeff Torborg .513 Billy Sullivan .513 Tony La Russa White Sox All Time General Manager Standings by Winning Percentage: .568 Hank Greenberg (1959-1961) 267-203-3 (AL 1959) .556 Charles Comiskey II & John Rigney (1956-1958) 257-205-2 .535 Charles Comiskey (1901-1914) 1115-968-48 (WS 1906; AL 1901) .527 Ron Schueler (1991-2000) 817-734-3 .521 Kenny Williams (2001-2012) 1014-931 (2005 WS) .518 Frank Lane (1949-1955) 559-519-9 .504 Ed Short (1962-1970) 735-723-1 .494 Roland Hemond (1971-1985) 1165-1192-6 .487 Harry Grabiner (1915-1945) 2285-2408-27 (WS 1917; AL 1919) .481 Larry Himes (1987-1990) 311-335 .461 Rick "Teflon" Hahn (2013-2022) 695-812 .444 Ken Harrleson (1986) 72-90 .425 Leslie O'Connor (1946-1948) 195-265-4

  14. If they brought Colas up when Robert first was dizzy in mid July, and played him as much as they play Pollock, he'd likely be leading the Sox in home runs at this point.
  15. You're not in a multi-championship window if you are not fielding the best major league capable players in your organization. Few in baseball would not consider Colas major league capable at this stage. Would have been a big lift to both Colas personally and the team as a whole if they brought up Colas and put Robert on the IL during their West Coast hot streak in early September. Would have shown ownership and the FO backed their players, coaching staff, interim manager and organization. Understood their stance not throwing more money after bad at the deadline, but this move was a no brainer considering what they were (and still are) throwing out there to play OF, Robert's injury, and the Sox being within a couple games of winning the division prior to the Cleveland series.
  16. These lucky White Sox fans have never experienced the indignity of the White Sox having the same or less winning seasons than the Cubs at any point of their life. 17. 9/24 Scoreboard Watching: Cubs & Rockies: The White Sox clinch finishing ahead of the Cubs and the Rockies and with a win and/or a Cubs / Rockies loss (Cubs Down 1-0 Top 5, Rockies warmup status). Angels & Rangers: The White Sox clinch finishing ahead of the Angeles and/or Rangers with a win and either an Angles and/or Texas loss (Texas No score End of 2nd hosting Cleveland) due to the Angels and Texas tie-breaker advantages (Both 4-3 vs. the White Sox this season).
  18. Just like the young core. Looks like Cleveland left their broom behind for Detroit to use.
