  1. Meh, Eloy sucks, send him down. GK, Welcome Back Eloy!!!
  2. Tim, it's not going to happen. Give it up already.
  3. I really hope Eloy is able to swim.
  4. From Baseball Press: 1. Tim Anderson (R) SS 2. Andrew Vaughn (R) LF 3. Jose Abreu (R) 1B 4. Eloy Jimenez (R) DH 5. Yoan Moncada (S) 3B 6. Adam Engel (R) RF 7. Billy Hamilton (R) CF 8. Danny Mendick (R) 2B 9. Seby Zavala (R) C Really like it. Garcia rests, looks like Tony is comfortable batting more than two RH only hitters consecutively (not forcing in a Goodwin or Sheets). And Eloy at DH. Thinking Moncada (2nd) Goodwin /Sheets (5th) and Leury (8th) will be regular lineup positions vs. RHP.
  5. Sox beat writer Mark Gonzalez quoted sources Tony La Russa and Daryl Boston regarding Vaughn's reduced playing time in LF, and work in RF and 3B. https://www.dailyherald.com/sports/20210722/gonzales-andrew-vaughn-has-plenty-of-value-for-white-sox-even-when-eloy-jimenez-returns
  6. Reports of the Padres looking to trade the best player in baseball, Fernando Tatis Jr. Eric Hosmer. Padres consider Profar and Cronenworth considered better options. How much salary will they eat to get it done?
  7. Apparently The Guardians was merely the second worst thing that happened to the Cleveland Baseball Team on July 23rd. Still Cleveland.
  8. Agreed. Sheets and Burger have three options, one may return in September. Jake Lamb is the wild card, think Tony will be sad but will cut him over cutting Goodwin, IMO, due to lack of any defensive position at this stage. C YG ZC IF JA LG DM TA YM OF/DH EJ AV LR BH BG AE.
  9. Chicago GuardiLynns
  10. I don’t see Tony going with four straight RHB at the top of the lineup, even vs. a LH Starter. He’s as committed to RLRLRLRL as he is to the unwritten rules. I expect TA YM JA EJ BG AV LG ZC/SZ AE/BH starting tomorrow. Long term expected Regular Lineup: SS TA 3B YM # 1B JA DH EJ C YG # CF LR LF AV 2B LG # RF AE
  11. Jerry and his RSN are broke. Look for Konerko’s World Series ball listing on eBay next week.
  12. Jason Benetti attending the game today with his friends. Currently calling the game on radio, perhaps his only chance on the road beyond crashing the booth again in Wrigley during a National broadcast.
  13. From the crowd, it sounds like the Sox are at home tonight.
  14. Wasn’t disputing their respective locations, disputing Eloy’s ability to co-exist with Robert in the outfield. Eloy has been crystal clear, in his words and in his actions, that he literally doesn’t give a shit rather he is injured doing stupid shit, regardless of how many years and dollars the Sox has invested in him. Its on the team at this point if he wears a glove again. Field stupid players, win stupid prizes.
  15. I was told the bullshit "yuk yuks" between Eloy and Robert would end with La Russa. It didn't in Spring Training, and only ended when Eloy suffered his major injury. It MUST end at this point. If Luis calls off Eloy, Eloy needs to back off. This needs to be a condition made very clear to Eloy before he takes the field for the Chicago White Sox. https://www.mlb.com/video/jimenez-robert-collide
  16. There are situations subject to appeal, that do not require a manager's challenge, or are even precluded from requesting a manager's challenge. Appealing to a 1B/3B umpire for a check swing / full swing, is one instance of a play which can be appealed, but cannot be subject to a manger's challenge (replay review request). Hopefully the Sox use it as a lesson learned situation, both for players (make sure you touch home) and their manager/coaches (you can appeal a play and then institute a managers challenge). Could be in a situation far more important than a game in mid-July.
  17. Andrew Vaughn is the fourth most valuable White Sox player based on contract, future years of control, and expected performance per baseball trade values. https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/teams/467/ Yoan Moncada $100.3M Lucas Giolito $77.1M Eloy Jimenez $72.8M Andrew Vaughn $63.6M There are few players in MLB more valuable than Andrew Vaughn, based on what he is expected to do, and what the White Sox are obligated to pay him, at least under the current CBA rules. A fair trade with the Cubs for Andrew Vaughn ($63.6M) would be Wilson Contreras ($34.3M), Kris Bryant ($13.9M), Javier Baez ($8.7M) and Craig Kimbrel ($6.3M), and cash. Andrew Vaughn is not going anywhere, unless he misses a take sign while a position player is pitching.
  18. The Brewers appealed the play at the plate, which is not subject to a time limitation. Once the umpire signaled safe after the play was appealed, Craig Counsel had 20 seconds to request a manager challenge, which he did. Tony actually addressed during the post game press conference, and James Fegan, Master of MLB Rules for the Chicago White Sox confirmed via tweet.
  19. Congratulations to Hawk Harrelson, who will be inducted along with other broadcasters and writers today into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He was elected last year, with the ceremony postponed until today due to the pandemic. The ceremony will be televised tomorrow (see link below for details). https://baseballhall.org/news/2021-awards-presentation-broadcast-july-25 Regardless of your opinion of Hawk as announcer or general manager, nobody could question his love for and allegiance to the Chicago White Sox over the decades, and his love of the game. Hope he and his family and friends have a great day celebrating Hawk Harrelson's career!
  20. The game yesterday was lost by the time Tony and Tim were tossed. Let’s see how the umpiring unfolds the rest of this series before jumping to any conclusions regarding the effectiveness of these protests. I expect the umpire score cards to improve today and tomorrow.
  21. Yes, it’s been hard that they continue to be closed. Wisconsin Belgian Red, Dancing Man and Kid Kolsch are also solid. 3 Sheeps in Sheboygan is my other favorite Wisconsin brewery, brews well across many styles. For local breweries, Revolution and Spiteful are my two favorites here. Dovetail is great for OG beer styles. We are blessed in Chicago with so any great options. I like hitting up most styles beyond the recent hyped juice box / sippy cup styles (Hazy, Pastry Stouts, Kettle Sours, Slushies, etc.). Sox (here) and Beer Advocate are my lone two “social media” accounts.
  22. The time has come for Rick and Tony to have a serious talk with Eloy. Rick Hahn We have a question. Do you want to be an outfielder, or do you want to appear to be an outfielder? It's an honest question. Lot of guys want to appear to be outfielders. Glove, sunglasses, pretend they can play the position. Tony La Russa A lot of them want to lay in a net and fall asleep at the wheel. Eloy Jimenez I'm all set without your own personal job application, Skipper. With all due respect Sir, what do you want from me? Tony: Hey asshole, he can't help you. I know what you are, OK. I know what you are, and I know what you're not. I'm the best friend you have on the face of this Earth, and I'm going to help you understand something, you punk. You're no fucking outfielder. Rick: He's right. We deal in deception here. What we do not deal with is self-deception. Five years from now, you can be anything else in the world. But you will not be a major league outfielder. Eloy: Are you sure of that? Rick: I'm sure of that. Tony: Guaran-fucking-teed.
  23. Here is the TA video, not sure if Len saw anything else, but I didn't see any contact with the umpire near the dugout. Hopeful it's just a fine.
  24. What did Tim do after he left the dugout? The the White Sox broadcast out of Jerry Springer's studio show anything? All we have in terms of either broadcast is Len Kasper reporting that Tim Anderson was ejected and is likely facing a suspension. Don't have any more information other than that, because Len and DJ were the only two at the game (DJ didn't comment on a suspension, but said you need to be smart in these situations).
