  1. Yeah, the Bills rode Allen to 7 straight TDs, but for the 8th drive, when they wanted to lose yards, they brought in a QB with experience at losing yards.
  2. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was worth it.
  3. I heard so much about it I started playing it, but I don't know how long I'll keep it up. You just take 3-4 guesses to get a word.
  4. I'll probably watch all 4 games, but Allen vs Mahomes is the can't miss game for me. Josh Allen is my favorite non-Bear player.
  5. Four teams just didn't even bother showing up for the playoffs.
  6. I've noticed substantial variance in the amount of time it takes the refs to get the ball spotted and ready for play during a last minute drive. Maybe it's time to switch to the college rule of having the clock stop on first downs during the last 2 minutes--take the human element out of it. There was also a big screwup after the fake punt when the Cowboys wanted to snap it quickly to trap the 49ers punt return team on the field but they spotted the ball in the wrong place and then had to fix it and at that point Dallas ran their offense back out on the field and ended up with a delay of game penalty. I've just seen way too many bad performances from refs this year. They need to be better. I'm honestly surprised more people aren't questioning the integrity of betting on games with all the stuff that's happened.
  7. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/bills-become-the-first-team-in-nfl-history-to-pitch-a-perfect-offensive-game-in-playoff-win-over-patriots/ Trubisky took a knee for the last two plays of the game, because if you want to lose yards in a playoff game, you want someone who has experience at it.
  8. If you're a quarterback who wants to win college championships, go to Alabama. If you want to win NFL playoff games, go anywhere else.
  9. Hard to be sure. It did look like defensive players stopped at the whistle but maybe they couldn't have stopped the pass anyway. Regardless, once the whistle got blown, they should have killed the play. They essentially disobeyed the rule to cover up their mistake.
  10. Big fuckup by the refs in the Oakland-Cincy game. Inexcusable.
  11. I just realized that a team that lost to the Bears is about to win a playoff game.
  12. Harbaugh just hired away Notre Dame's DL coach for the same position at Michigan so that makes me think he isn't leaving.
  13. Not even similar really. Lester career fWAR 46.2, Buehrle 52.3 career fWAR. Buehrle has 20% more IP,
  14. So on NFL Network this morning the hosts (don't remember who) were talking about how the Packers OC would be a great HC hire. Anybody have thoughts on that?
  15. Those schools also sit on billions in endowments. Fuck them.
  16. I would have worded it differently, but I don't have a problem with the bolded statement. Unless your team is owned by a real football person like Jerry Jones, at some point in the chain of command of the organization you will have a football person reporting to and being hired by a non-football person. I don't expect the team owner to spend dozens of hours watching game film and talking to scouts in order to form a solid evaluation of the quarterback. I do expect the owner to understand when the person directly below him or her has been getting the same unacceptable results after repeated GM/Coach hires and make a change in how those positions are filled, and I expect him or her to identify the right outside consultants to help make those changes.
  17. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the new GM/coach shouldn't be judged on wins/losses, but I would say that wins/losses in year 3 should count a lot more than wins/losses in year 1. Make sure the new regime doesn't feel the pressure to sacrifice the future to scratch out a 10-7 season in 2022.
  18. Yeah, Pace was really good at deciding who to draft in rounds 3-7, but the trade ups more than cancelled that out.
  19. There needs to be someone, either the new GM or someone else very high up in the organization, that is an analytics expert. Someone who can map out projected win totals with various combinations of players before starting to build next year's team. Someone who knows that trading up in the draft is generally a bad thing to do.
  20. Just be glad JR doesn't own the Bears or else they'd be hiring Ditka.
  21. If the Raiders think that the Bengals are a more beatable opponent than Kansas City, then there was significant incentive to go for the win vs settle for the tie.
  22. That tweet is three words shorter than I was hoping it would be.
  23. I don't see how it's possible, but if Nagy is somehow retained, I'm shelling out for Sunday Ticket next year and finding a new team for at least a year.
