Something happening first doesn't mean it was a priority, it means that it was an easier transaction to complete. Is it really that hard for you to understand that?

Everybody has their opinion on the Kelly and Harrison signings. The reality is that they can't be fairly judged until the entire body of work is completed. Those signings being done in addition to signing a big LH bat for RF/DH is very different than being done in lieu of signing the big LH bat. Potential trades of Kimbel and for a SP also impact the value of those signings. Shut up and stop talking about how horrible or how great those signings were until you see the finished work. There are some posters who really need to leave the board in October and not come back until April because they really don't have a concept of how to deal with individual transactions in between. Oops, wrong board. This should be in PHT. Can a mod move it?

The only thing that might make me willing to pay a bit more for Manaea is that he's a local guy and that might make him more likely to stick around after 1 year.

If there are no more moves, this roster is probably in the same neighborhood as 2021, but I don't believe that the moves are over.

Here's a novel idea: look at everything as gray instead of black and white. Throw a ticket tape parade for the good things they do and get upset when the fuck up. If you can't see the good things they do, then maybe it's time to find a new team.

Hopefully two or all three of these: trading away Kimbrel, trading for Manaea, signing Schwarber/Conforto/Castellanos

Every team is relying on nothing going wrong with their TOR guys. Nobody has 7 quality starters. Criticizing the FO is fine, but have some discretion between criticizing the really bad moves rather than indiscriminately being against every single thing they do. Not offering Rodon the QO was a huge mistake. Nearly everybody realizes that. Harrison might be a bad sign but it depends on what the rest of the final roster looks like.

Fat guys age well so Lynn should be fine, but I think Keuchel is not going to be any better than last year.

Harrison had a .741 OPS last year and Hernandez had .694 so I'm gonna gamble on the guy who was almost 50 points better last year.

I'm OK with not signing him, but given the contract he got, Rodon obviously would have rejected the QO and not giving it was really stupid. Sox just gave up a free draft pick.

Schwarber would 100% force himself into the top 6 of the lineup, and he's be light years better than a Sheets/Vaughn DH platoon.

Fine. He has a 4.2 BB/9 and a 1.46 WHIP. He was better last year and I won't hate it if he's on the team, but he's not a reason to stand pat and not look to improve.

Ruiz has a 3.94 career ERA, so he's not too good to be DFA, but even so Burr is probably the next man out and not Ruiz.

Assuming Kimbrel is traded you still have Ruiz and Burr there, so one more upgrade would be nice, especially if it's a lefty so Crochet can be a long guy.

You'll never convince Soxtalk of this. Around here, if you acquire any hitter with an OPS < .850, he's a bum and the team isn't trying to win.
