Well, Hamilton made sure Verstappen didn't finish ahead of him the only way he was capable of doing so.

Boston sitting in the top WC spot, 1 game ahead of New York and Toronto in a tie for the 2nd spot. Oakland and Seattle drop to 2 back. In the NL, Giants move their lead out to 2.5 over Dodgers. San Diego and Cincinnati tied for the 2nd WC spot.

The worst move of the game was leaving Cease in too long. Should have been out before giving up that home run. Next worst move was subbing Hamilton for Gonzalez, and then pinch hitting Sheets for Hamilton in the same inning. Can't burn two guys in one spot in the same inning in a one run game that might go to extras. Once those moves were made, the 10th pretty much played out the only way it could.

I heard Jason and Steve suggest pinch running Mendick for Eloy, but I'd pinch run Mendick for Grandal after he walks. That's the winning run.

So far he's just given up the one run that's really hard to prevent anyways.

Red Sox better score 2 or it's gonna be a short bottom of the 10th.
