I'm glad we lead by two. Minnie magic? Or Mark magic? We shall see. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 03:20 AM) 6 outs to get in Minnesota. Six long, agonizing outs. Not agonizing anymore for me. Just watchin and hoping we get the W. -

It's amazing how quickly the Sox have dropped six in a row. Isn't our season-high win streak still a whopping four? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 03:13 AM) He hit a rocket greg, stop! Are you serious? A rocket? It was right at him and didn't take anything special to catch it. Blah. -

Not that it matters, but the Royals youngsters have tied it up, 3-3. -

It's not like Dunn got robbed, though. It was a liner right at 1B. Adam el stinko. Coulda picked up the team with a hit there. -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 03:06 AM) Bruney will get the 8th. Why? Because it would infuriate all of us. I'm not going to feel good seeing Crain out there for some reason. -

If we don't score a few more runs, this game has a feel of 2-run walkoff home run written all over it. -

Giaovetti with 2 hits and his first major league RBI tonight in his debut. KC down, 3-1 to Detroit in 7th. -

I'm glad that was not 'the inning' of doom. Nice job, Mark. I hope our parade of relievers gets the job done tonight. Crain, Sale, Thornton and Sergio. What order will Oz use them? -

Morel has 243 at bats and three walks unless he's walked tonight. Can a player improve in regards to drawing walks? If not, I think it's pretty safe to say he will be a bust offensively. You can't have that kind of eye and be special. -

This feels like 'the inning.' The one where we all will become quite agitated. -
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 10:22 PM) I am afraid I am going to have to signal the bulls*** alarm on this. I find it fascinating that we have pitching coaches that specialize in tweaking mechanics and teaching new pitches to pitchers yet for some reason hitters come up here as a finished product. I have seen enough hitters over the years to see that they change throughout their career. Their swing plane, the mechanics of the load, hell their feet position. If you cant teach or change why do they do that. They should come up here say f*** it and swing away. This is a game of adjustments, and if you show up to the show and thats it guess what you are done because the scouts and the opposing pitchers will eat you up. Hell look at Konerko now and compare him to his start, is that the same exact hitter. No. Look at Beckham, and compare him when he came up, is that the same hitter. No. Good or bad, these guys make adjustments and change and learn. Chatter here is the Royals hitters actually work with Kevin Seitzer who has been credited for helping turn Gordon into a real hitter. They've benched Moustakis a couple days just to work with Seitzer on some changes.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 10:20 PM) I know it sounds completely unfounded and flies in the face of all evidence to the contrary, but I still think we're going to win this division and go deep in the playoffs. Wow. How could you think that? You think teams can just turn it on after four lousy months and one week? It's too late for this team to rediscover itself, even if Dayan ever comes up. This ship has sailed. Might as well wait til next April for Dayan.

Not in the mood to watch these guys faceplant vs. Minnie. Is it possible to not hit Blackburn? I mean he may be the worst of all the bums we've been shut down by lately. Maybe Chen is worse. I picked up Nick for my fantasy team for one night figuring he'd shut us down, but he's really really bad. -
I want to see a list of the 9 moves that got away, moves that helped KW ruin the franchise.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) I am not renewing my full plan which I have had since I converted a 27 gamer mid-season 2000. My guess is their ticket folks f***ed up by holding tickets back fro cubs, Boston and NY when they went on sale for full season and ozzie plan folks. My ticket guy has called me twice. I left him a message basically saying there is no longer any interest on my part to spend $9,000 on tickets to watch a team that has no interest in being out there and has a baseball IQ lower than most of the season ticket holders and that is not hyperbole. Good for you. I can't imagine the team selling any tickets at least until Rios and Dunn are gone.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 07:16 AM) Okay Greg.... With KW and Ozzie and Walker all still around, what percentage of faith do you have that Beckham will ever again look like the same hitter as 2008-2009 with the Chicago White Sox Professional Baseball organization? I'm not confident at all. I see a guy with a weird batting stance with a hitch in his swing who doesn't find gaps anymore and makes a lot of outs and can't hit a high fastball. It's scary, really. He's not looking real good.

We have trotted a lot of bad relievers out there the last 3 seasons. Man.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 05:11 AM) Thanks for not at all answering the question. I thought my answer showed I still like Beckham. I am just very "concerned."
