  1. QUOTE (High Mileage @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 10:23 PM) Was Jenks really that bad? No comment.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 10:17 PM) Now there are even bigger problems. With the idiotic Teahen deal and the extension through 2013 (with another million dollar buyout for 2014) now for Thornton, you might have two busted contracts weighing on the payroll, just when we got out from under the Linebrink fiasco. I just can't believe Thornton's already been ruined by 12 games as the "closer." He has to be pitching with a dead arm or hiding an injury. I agree. He has a dead arm or is hurt.
  3. After that, Thornton obviously is no longer the closer. The question is truthfully, is he more than an Ohman type guy now? One batter or two? He has nothing, no pop. No offspeed, nothing. Let's face it this team has no closer. None.
  4. Anybody watching this crap sees that Thornton has nothing right now. His fastball looks so hittable. He is wild. He's got nothing (and yes I know he's also had some bad luck defense) The eyetest tells me he needs some time off.
  5. To give this game away is unbelievable. Fire everybody. I don't care anymore.
  6. You don't lead 4-1 in a clean game and implode in the ninth like that again. It's maddening.
  7. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) the biggest thing is that ozzie comes out and says thornton is his closer in public, then deflates the guys confidence putting sale out there, then puts him in an impossible situation in which the likelihood of failing is high....its awful managing I think Juan Pierre deflated the guy's confidence by dropping a pair of fly balls.
  8. Don't play him if he's not ready. He's in the f***ing lineup.
  9. Doesn't Adam Dunn make a lot of money? How bout doing something soon, Mr. Dunn.
  10. Well we know it's home run derby time. Nobody's trying to get on base.
  11. Do we have anybody with a "closer's mentality?" Obviously not. This team is in deep trouble without a closer (obvious statement of the century I know).
  12. It's impossible to look so good during games then implode late night after night.
  13. First of all, great bomb by Lexi. Loved it. I don't know why everybody wants to designate a closer on this team. The minute we call Santos the closer he'll probably fail as well. Just let Ozzie play his gut and give different guys opportunities to close. Yes I would go with Sergio, but you still can give Sale and Thornton some opportunities as well,. It's too bad Pierre can't catch a fly ball when Thornton is pitching. Who knows? He might have a save or two.
  14. Lexi with 2 home runs. Didn't he suck in April last year? Not this year. Way to battle, white sox and win. The A's piss me off.
  15. Lexi hits a no doubter. Man. I'm speechless. Way to go, Lexi.
  16. I still say we just need baserunners in extras. Sickening our approach in extras this year and last.
  17. AJ and Rios each had a pitch to drive.
  18. At least Rios worked the count. Pitch coulda gone either way. Typical Sox bad luck and K.
  19. QUOTE (bulokis @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 03:34 AM) Tony pena's only contribution since we got him was giving up the lead and mop up. Awful trade. It's amazing how many runs that guy gives up. Man he is mediocre to s***ty.
  20. Don't need a home run. Get on base, White Sox.
  21. The crowd goes wild. Nice pitch. Can we win on a walk off? I mean WTF, let's win.
  22. This is Twins' first series against Central Div. I think. Twins rule the Central. Always do.
  23. Walks don't cut it. Sale overthrew that one. s***.
