  1. Can Juan get it out of the infield?
  2. Might be tough for a reliever to come in and throw strikes in the rain. Hoping he can do the job.
  3. Time for Sergio to kick ass in a critical situation with all eyes on him. Good luck Sergio.
  4. No brainer to let him start the seventh. If he can make it through seven it should be Thornton to Jenks in eighth and ninth IMO.
  5. What a f***ing prick Silva is. Don't show up your outfielder. Worry about yourself Carlos.
  6. Paulie goes to right field twice, two RBIs today. Nice. Wish all hitters would take it where it's pitched.
  7. 118 pitches. Nice to see somebody in baseball let these p**** pitchers go more than 100 pitches.
  8. Just don't swing at that outslide s***. That pitch fools guys for some reason.
  9. Bad bunting form. A Little Leaguer can put it down better than that (back in the day).
  10. He should be able to steal on one of those slow outside pitches.
  11. Well then I'd think he's off to Texas in a day.
  12. Hopefully Nix will keep the glove down and get in front of the ball.
  13. What's the hurry either way? Unless people are dying to see Castro more often.
  14. He does as good a job as any manager could with an underachieving pitching staff and wretched lineup. He has some relievers that whenever he puts them in, fans will say he's mismanaged the bullpen that day,. Give me a break. The parts he has to work with suck. Some people think he mismanages the bullpen when Bobby is put in to close. Put in Liney or Thornton or Jenks and some say he's mismanaged the bullpen that day. My guess is you'll be hating on any manager after you get to know him. It's the nature of the business. You can second guess 10 things in any loss easily. Players win games.
  15. Why are you assuming in a month he'd turn down a trade to play for a contender? This team is going nowhere. He's not getting any younger. He won't block a trade to a contender. I wish you'd not pretend to know AJ. I don't know him and am not 100 percent sure, but I think these players want to play for championships. There's no hurry to trade him because of that clause. He'll be dealt either this weekend or sometimes later this season. Get ready for Castro time.
  16. Cause he has a good voice and good personality. Lots of people (Dick Vitale) figured out you could make a lot of money broadcasting rather than being in the thick of the action on the field. It's easier and you are still involved in the sport and everybody loves an announcer, nobody loves the manager (except the month after winning it all). Aside from being a manager, it's kind of grunt work. Sandberg deserves credit for working up his way as a manager through the minors. He doesn't need the money.
  17. Your new manager will be Buddy Bell or Cora. Big deal. Keep Ozzie. Sports are fun. Ozzie is fun.
  18. Why do you think we won't be able to deal AJ later? He'll accept a f***ing deal if it means going to a contender. We're not going to get s*** for him either way. Nobody's going to give much for a guy his age who can't throw. Might as well keep him and go for the best deal when teams want to make a splash shortly after the all star break.
  19. They should keep both, but if they have to get rid of one it's KW and promote Hahn (sp?). Seems a lot of people think Hahn is OK.
  20. I could be wrong, but if he gets traded after Monday, I think he'd waive the no trade clause. Baseball players are proud (ego driven) and want to be wanted. Unless it's a trade to some s*** city or non contender, he'd go. He'd go to Texas. He's a competitor. He'd really help Texas.
  21. I like Lou. If you watch that interview and you should on the trib site or sun times site, you'll see some interesting comments. I like the way Lou tries to stop talking about it, then continues on about Stone. It's a classic interview. I like Lou and Ozzie because they love the game and aren't afraid to stir s*** up. They both have been in the game a hell of a long time and are good managers. It's fun to see passion instead of the dull crap that guys like Trey Hillman (I know he's finally gone) spouted in interviews and most coaches/managers. Like the Philly flyers coach. Wow, what monotone. Give me Lou and ozzie anyday.
