  1. Tomorrow is an automatic loss vs. Verlander, so chalk up another L. We are not hitting him.
  2. Now Linebrink stinks? Our bullpen is Jeckyll-Hyding again like last year. What a f***ing freak team we have. Getting the potential winning run thrown out at the plate SUCKS also. Tough loss in a tough season so far.
  3. I wonder if Anderson would get this kind of love if Wise is where he should be, out of baseball. BA is a good to great fielder; bad to worst hitter. Trade him, let him give it a shot in a new venue.
  4. I don't know about "negative" people; I'd say frustrated people. The way we've played this year is maddening. The fact it's sort of similar to last year I think is driving people insane, myself included. People are positive when somebody does something positive. Case in point: Richard. Everybody has been very positive because of his good outings, even though he's sucked balls the last two times out.
  5. Jordan4Life is right. The guy is an official offensive bust. Time to let him play for some other team and see if he can salvage his career. Or we play him every day the next 12 years and let him be our Ken Berry: All D; no O.
  6. Jim Thome should indeed be the team leader. He's a big dude with the big head. Kick some ass, Jimmy. Why is he so silent since he's been a Sox. He oughta kick some butt in that clubhouse.
  7. For some reason "your highness" made me laugh. Rock Raines is taking it on the chin after his post.
  8. Cool, Southside. I hope Beckham does go with the pitch. If he does, he'll do something very few guys on our team do, at least the games I see on TV. Seriously, you guys who see a lot of games ... who on our team goes with the pitch and flares hits to the opposite field?
  9. I wouldn't mind if we signed Freddy if we axed Colon. To me, they are the same guy. To have both around is kind of depressing to me.
  10. Best post in this thread. I agree with you 100 percent.
  11. I always love when we win. It's amazing when you feel a sense of relief in winning a home game, though, and I felt more relieved than elated. This is one of those wins where the team looks like it has the right formula. Like we should win all the time. These games have been few and far between in the Cell. JUST WIN BABY
  12. It was strange timing, I'll agree, but Josh is another guy who needs a change of scenery. Trade him and play Beckham every day and maybe after Beckham gets his first hit someday he'll go on a tear.
  13. Poor CQ. I'm sure he's going crazy trying to get well. Hopefully he'll start hitting the ball over the fence again upon his return. He certainly sucked for an extended period of time.
  14. BA may not suck, but he's a below average offensive player. Above average defensive player. Whether he improves offensively, who knows? I'm not crazy about what I've seen. Maybe all it will take is to trade him. Swisher who was a piece of utter s*** as a Sox, is having a decent year I've been told. Is Beckham ever going to get a hit? Not flaming, just amazed he's still oh-fer.
  15. One hit in eight innings?? I didn't see the game. WTF? Somebody tell me how he pitched. Is he for real? My gosh. One hit???

We should bring up a ton of minor leaguers and one will have to get off to a sizzling start by law of averages to break that jinx. We got nine hits and lost? What a bummer. p.s. Paulie is a stud. And Pods has hit well.
  17. I'm of the opinion it doesn't matter much either way, but I voted for his firing in that I feel this year somebody has to take the fall.
  18. Sox suck, plain and simple. I think this thing is close to getting blown up, unless KW waits til the postseason, which might be a more wise decision. The team is horses*** in so many ways that have been discussed in other threads. Biggest thing is too many guys who don't belong in the bigs, but lots of guys deserve blame including KW and Oz. Good thing we won the WS when we did. It might be a while afore we're back. The thing is, tonight could be a real disaster with the Tigers teeing off on poor Jose.
  19. I agree with this. I'm amazed when I watch other teams' righties whack a double down the first base line.
  20. What? I never read that. If that is true Mark is an idiot. His family could use that 1 million instead of giving it to a free swinging hack like Uribe.
  21. Yet the NL won the World Series last year. Q: Is this the year the Flubs embarrass us and win all six?
  22. Anybody surprised KC is THIS BAD again? Man. You know, this was a proud franchise right out of the chute. Once they got an expansion franchise, KC never stunk. Til Ewing Kauffman died. Since then ... geezus. s*** baseball!!!!
  23. The failure is beyond the hitting coach, but I did vote to can him only because we never seem to make such radical decisions during the season. This team needs a shakeup of some kind. I would feel bad for Walker a bit, however, consider some of the stiffs he's had to go to war with.
  24. If they promised not to bean you or plunk you in the knee, which pitchers in MLB would you most rather pick up a bat against in an attempt to get a hit? I'd say Colon and Contreras would be at the top of the my list. Oops, I forgot Gobble. 1.) Gobble. 2.) Jose. 3.) Colon. 4.) Ponson (actually Colon and Ponson are the same guy). 6. Rich Hill. Give me your candidates to dig in against.
  25. Brian at times looks like he has a clue. But it's pretty apparent he needs to try it with some other team. He needs to go. It would have been nice, considering his defense, to play him every inning this season and see what his batting average would be when all is said and done. I'm thinking about .205, but who the hell knows?
