  1. I hope he's able to come back at some point. He's got all off season to rest the foot. He needs to make the adjustments necessary to return to the CQ of old and I hope he gets the at bats this year to get his average up and his HRs way up.
  2. Is Ken serious? My gosh. The Cubs are right there and have the payroll and the starting pitching when it's healthy. We right now are this completely dysfunctional team with injuries, big-time hitting problems and inconsistent pitching (Linebrink, WTF of late) both starting and in relief. I guess he thinks for some reason we are going to click and win 10 in a row at some point. I don't see it. Hope I'm wrong.
  3. Who plays first base now? I'm having a braincramp as to who our backup is. Thanx.
  4. I'd suggest using the game thread to go nuts. It seems to be understood in there that our players, GM and manager are gonna be crucified so to speak.
  5. Nice homestand, White Sox. Congratulations. Not many teams could be out of the s***ty Central Division race by June 10. I know we've had some injuries but what the f***? Only hope of getting back in it is total fold job by Detroit. Minnie again has an amazing home record to go with s*** on the road. Our home record is a disgrace. Again, congratulations to all. June 10 and we're out of it barring some minor miracle as in a 10-game win streak coupled with a 2-8 Detroit stretch.
  6. Seems to me Ozzie is so comfortable in Chicago, where he played so long, so comfy with the Chicago writers that he blasts away and pretty much runs his mouth like a madman. If he was a manager in another town, I don't think he'd do it nor would he get away with it. That said, just produce and you won't get ripped. Beckham predictably goes ohfer for 3 games. Oz is human. Oz gets pissed. It's human nature to love the unknown and Beckham is the unknown god to the fans. Right now. Obviously he could go one for 100 and still be loved this year, but at some point he's gonna have to produce. He'll probably have a Ventura-like start, then a Ventura-like career. I don't see anything wrong in Oz ripping him a bit, though. When he finally gets fired here or retires, Oz will manage again and he'll be a lot calmer. His act won't play where he's not as well known/loved.
  7. Great question. I think it's cause Wise has been hated every since he first donned a Sox uniform. He was dubbed the devil from Day One. People had hope for Fields; some still do.
  8. Oz should be speechless tonight. Score 3 in the ninth only to immediately lose it in the 10th. That is maddening.
  9. He should have made some creative trades in the offseason when it's easier to make a blockbuster w/ the emotional winter meetings, et. all. Good luck dumping guys now and rebuilding in the process.
  10. We also owned Greinke for a while. This year Verlander is great again and our offense has at least four automatic outs. I hope for the best but fear another shutout.
  11. The fans voted him off the Cell island on Opening Day. Sox shoulda got the hint. Fans don't want him around.
  12. I did think before my post. Have you met our offense?
  13. Tomorrow is an automatic loss vs. Verlander, so chalk up another L. We are not hitting him.
  14. Now Linebrink stinks? Our bullpen is Jeckyll-Hyding again like last year. What a f***ing freak team we have. Getting the potential winning run thrown out at the plate SUCKS also. Tough loss in a tough season so far.
  15. I wonder if Anderson would get this kind of love if Wise is where he should be, out of baseball. BA is a good to great fielder; bad to worst hitter. Trade him, let him give it a shot in a new venue.
  16. I don't know about "negative" people; I'd say frustrated people. The way we've played this year is maddening. The fact it's sort of similar to last year I think is driving people insane, myself included. People are positive when somebody does something positive. Case in point: Richard. Everybody has been very positive because of his good outings, even though he's sucked balls the last two times out.
  17. Jordan4Life is right. The guy is an official offensive bust. Time to let him play for some other team and see if he can salvage his career. Or we play him every day the next 12 years and let him be our Ken Berry: All D; no O.
  18. Jim Thome should indeed be the team leader. He's a big dude with the big head. Kick some ass, Jimmy. Why is he so silent since he's been a Sox. He oughta kick some butt in that clubhouse.
  19. For some reason "your highness" made me laugh. Rock Raines is taking it on the chin after his post.
  20. Cool, Southside. I hope Beckham does go with the pitch. If he does, he'll do something very few guys on our team do, at least the games I see on TV. Seriously, you guys who see a lot of games ... who on our team goes with the pitch and flares hits to the opposite field?
  21. I wouldn't mind if we signed Freddy if we axed Colon. To me, they are the same guy. To have both around is kind of depressing to me.
  22. Best post in this thread. I agree with you 100 percent.
  23. I always love when we win. It's amazing when you feel a sense of relief in winning a home game, though, and I felt more relieved than elated. This is one of those wins where the team looks like it has the right formula. Like we should win all the time. These games have been few and far between in the Cell. JUST WIN BABY
  24. It was strange timing, I'll agree, but Josh is another guy who needs a change of scenery. Trade him and play Beckham every day and maybe after Beckham gets his first hit someday he'll go on a tear.
  25. Poor CQ. I'm sure he's going crazy trying to get well. Hopefully he'll start hitting the ball over the fence again upon his return. He certainly sucked for an extended period of time.
