0 for his last 19
BA may not suck, but he's a below average offensive player. Above average defensive player. Whether he improves offensively, who knows? I'm not crazy about what I've seen. Maybe all it will take is to trade him. Swisher who was a piece of utter s*** as a Sox, is having a decent year I've been told. Is Beckham ever going to get a hit? Not flaming, just amazed he's still oh-fer.

GameThread: White Sox(26-31) vs Tigers(31-25)GAME 2 7:11 WCIU
One hit in eight innings?? I didn't see the game. WTF? Somebody tell me how he pitched. Is he for real? My gosh. One hit???

Sigh
We should bring up a ton of minor leaguers and one will have to get off to a sizzling start by law of averages to break that jinx. We got nine hits and lost? What a bummer. p.s. Paulie is a stud. And Pods has hit well.

When should Greg Walker be fired?
I'm of the opinion it doesn't matter much either way, but I voted for his firing in that I feel this year somebody has to take the fall.

Ozzie blasts team after game
Sox suck, plain and simple. I think this thing is close to getting blown up, unless KW waits til the postseason, which might be a more wise decision. The team is horses*** in so many ways that have been discussed in other threads. Biggest thing is too many guys who don't belong in the bigs, but lots of guys deserve blame including KW and Oz. Good thing we won the WS when we did. It might be a while afore we're back. The thing is, tonight could be a real disaster with the Tigers teeing off on poor Jose.

Present Your Theories Here
I agree with this. I'm amazed when I watch other teams' righties whack a double down the first base line.

When should Greg Walker be fired?
What? I never read that. If that is true Mark is an idiot. His family could use that 1 million instead of giving it to a free swinging hack like Uribe.

2009 Cubs thread
Yet the NL won the World Series last year. Q: Is this the year the Flubs embarrass us and win all six?

2009 AL Central Thread
Anybody surprised KC is THIS BAD again? Man. You know, this was a proud franchise right out of the chute. Once they got an expansion franchise, KC never stunk. Til Ewing Kauffman died. Since then ... geezus. s*** baseball!!!!

When should Greg Walker be fired?
The failure is beyond the hitting coach, but I did vote to can him only because we never seem to make such radical decisions during the season. This team needs a shakeup of some kind. I would feel bad for Walker a bit, however, consider some of the stiffs he's had to go to war with.

Giving up the long ball
If they promised not to bean you or plunk you in the knee, which pitchers in MLB would you most rather pick up a bat against in an attempt to get a hit? I'd say Colon and Contreras would be at the top of the my list. Oops, I forgot Gobble. 1.) Gobble. 2.) Jose. 3.) Colon. 4.) Ponson (actually Colon and Ponson are the same guy). 6. Rich Hill. Give me your candidates to dig in against.

The Great Brian Anderson Debacle
Brian at times looks like he has a clue. But it's pretty apparent he needs to try it with some other team. He needs to go. It would have been nice, considering his defense, to play him every inning this season and see what his batting average would be when all is said and done. I'm thinking about .205, but who the hell knows?

When should Greg Walker be fired?
This is the best defense of Walker I've read. We do have too many guys who are not big leaguers.

6/7 Cleveland Indians @ Chicago White Sox 1:05 CDT - CSN
And speaking for myself, I DONT want Beckham to fail. I'm frustrated he is 0-for-10 and that's all I can say about that.

Five hits vs. Cleveland's s***ty starter and relievers TOTAL. Inept hitting performance again. Season going down the drain versus easy teams at home. It's JUNE. Time for some panic button move. Somebody's got to get the axe. Mr. Walker? Oz? Walker has to be the sacrificial lamb to wake this team up.

If the team needs a shakeup this year, I'd fire Walker before Ozzie. Fire Walker, hire Big Hurt as PH/hitting coach. He might spark the dugout. Then if we keep sucking, Oz would probably resign cause he'd be pissed Walker got the ax in the first place.

We ought to hire Big Hurt as pinch hitter/interim hitting coach if Walker has to go.

I'll stand by my arguments. Colon is a joke. His line today versus a bad team again is a joke. I also believe my other two comments, but I respect those who differ in opinion on those topics. To play this badly at home against pissant teams is disgraceful. To have four automatic outs in the lineup on a given day is ridiculous. At least Lexi got two more hits today.

6/7 Cleveland Indians @ Chicago White Sox 1:05 CDT - CSN
Why would you want Colon around? How can you argue Beckham has not been rushed up? How can you argue our veteran bats are inconsitent? None of our veterans are capable of carrying this team for a period of time.
-
6/7 Cleveland Indians @ Chicago White Sox 1:05 CDT - CSN
Colon must be released. Beckham is not ready for this. Our veterans are inconsistent. Fields, Castro, Nix, Beckham, Anderson were today's automatic outs. We usually have at least four automatic outs in the lineup in a given day. Playing this badly at home vs. .the A's and Indians is not good. Will Detroit win all five and put us out of our misery in mid June?
-
AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!
Yes but the lineup is not. I just hope if Fields can stay reasonably hot, we let him play a lot. Like somebody said in an earlier thread, it's kind of an odd time for the Beckham callup with Fields actually hitting reasonably well. I wish Lexi would pull his ass out and be the Lexi of old.

How did Nate McLouth end up in Atlanta and not here?
If Buddy Bell said that, then why isn't he on the big league club. Our cf situation is s***.
-
White sox shutouts...
Give me a break. What do you want Oz to say? It's part of his job to talk to the media. He's a damn fine leader. And how do you expect him to have a set lineup with this collection of players that include many who don't deserve to be in the league, combined with many injuries? Our team has not had an outspoken leader forever. Paulie I guess came close in that article during our last slide when he pointed out some team problems in a calm tone. He said a lot, but really nothing. Oz is the team leader; always has been. He's the only leader.

Where are the Wilson Betemit defenders?
I recall being moderately enthused about his signing at the time. He was horrible.

6/6 Thread - Sox vs. Indians - 3:05pm CDT on Fox
Detroit lost again; pull your head out, Sox. Other Central teams losing means you are still in the "race."
