  1. I'd rather we make wholesale changes in the offseason. Maybe one trade this season. Trade one of our power slow guys. Is it Kenny's style to retool the whole f***ing team during the season? I think not.
  2. How many lefthanded closers are there in baseball? It doesn't work. Too many righty hitters. IMO those of you who want Jenks gone are kukoo. I repeat who is going to be our closer the next few years? Thornton is a LEFTY. Righties will mash him and he'll have a 60 percent success rate in closing games. Dave Righetti? Sparky Lyle? Thornton is no Sparky Lyle.
  3. Who will be our closer now and in the future if we trade Jenks? I realize relievers arms fall off (poor Soria) but cmon. Thornton is not a closer.
  4. I still say some of you are in a dream world regarding Jose. He's not going to bring anything decent in return. I give him credit for his performance of late. But No GM is going to give up anything but crap for him. At this point, I wouldn't mind a trade or two but Jose isn't going to bring us squat.
  5. Good line. But Arroyo turned our hitters into dung.
  6. I still wonder what Jose would bring. The guy is probably 10 years older than he's listed and when he's bad, he's so bad. If I was a team's GM, I would not be a Jose believer just yet except to give up some minor league scrap for him ... though his outings since coming back up have so far been tremendous.
  7. I agree. What was our record in one run games in our WS title season? We can blame injuries or whatever, but so far this season has been blah.
  8. Better than I thought. I am out. I will take my bad mood elsewhere. Royals are getting pounded by the Cards, 10-1 at home. Another big crowd with nothing to cheer about from the get-go at the K.
  9. What's our record vs. the NL? Isn't it sub .500?
  10. I love the way we always mock the NL or say certain pitchers will thrive in the NL when we have not exactly played well against the NL this season.
  11. It's wildly inconsistent, another reason our team remains sub. .500. There's always something missing. Just not consistently good baseball, like the rest of the teams in the Central.
  12. Dotel and Linebrink really have earned their millions the last 2 nights.
  13. The Sox have 2 hits. It's the return of the bad Sox apparently after giving away the game against the Cubs.
  14. Screw the expectations. I want to win games. He should have gotten a hit there, as should have Thome.
  15. Which gametracker is the quickest? Yahoo.com's sucks. Way behind.
  16. I don't hate him. I'm sick of nobody on our team getting a clutch hit, including him.
  17. Beckham has had many opportunities to be a hero. When is he going to deliver?

It's amazing to me how much these unreliable specialists make. Linebrink, Farnsworth, Dotel. One thing is for sure they aren't giving any of the money back. Pity the stud pitchers pre Steinbrenner who made no jack at all. Sad.

Yes but you can rest assured there will be many more like yesterday. We are far enough into the season to realize this team will implode on many occasions, actually lose in all possible ways. The Sox aren't suddenly going to turn into a team that plays clean baseball everyday and wins 60 to 65 percent of its games. Hopefully we'll make the playoffs.
  20. I want to win the division. If we were assured of doing that and not making any moves til the offseason, I'd say take the division title. As far as CQ's health, our team does have good doctors. If they say he can play, play him. The guy is major injury prone anyway. If he needs surgery, operate now. If he can play w/out surgery and won't need it in offseason, play him now. If surgery is needed in the postseason, do it NOW though.

No way we will take this division "easily." No way. We are wildly inconsistent in all phases of the game. This team is .500 at best and likely to finish about .450. We know we are capable of lousy stretches like that horrible homestand. We have yet to show any signs of putting together a long win streak or stretch of 12 wins in 15 games, something like that.
  22. Gobble should be released IMO. Poreda should be pitching regularly in the minors.

Are there any reliable relievers in baseball today? Truly reliable? Our bullpen is like the rest of our team, wildly inconsistent.Tough loss to stomach. It'll probably get the Cubs rolling. The media take on our win yesterday was blah. Cubs bats suck, etc. Today it'll be all about the Cubbies and their great comeback.
  24. No. He got off to a great start and has sucked as my horrific fantasy team can attest. He is a miserable baseball player. Also on the booing, you know Oz does read his emails. So why not email him daily blasting him?

Me too. I was against the signing of Pods. Was anybody on here in favor of it? Pods is shutting up the naysayers. I don't want to jinx him, but what a great season he's had so far.
