  1. Your velocity comment is right on. It's amazing how hard he has been throwing the ball. It's really a special talent. Wonder if he can stay healthy and keep it up.
  2. Your wallpaper is f***ing amazing. I use it every month. Thanx.
  3. This sucks. He was so hot. Will they rest him 2 days? Greinke is nasty on Friday if Lexi has a bum digit.
  4. Forget the WC. We can win the division, but I don't think we will. We're hot right now. Everything seems great. I never thought we'd get this hot. If the starters keep it up and Beckham continues excellence (his bat has really helped the bottom of the order during our sizz) and Lexi keeps this up as well as Pods we can contend. I know those are three bats in a 9 man order, but we had too many automatic outs earlier.
  5. He's been a polar opposite. So so bad to open the season when he wasn't ready. Now he is simply great. I wouldn't give him any huge extension. One year deals?
  6. Who cares if he wasn't with the club from Day One? Don't worry. Be happy. He's doing well. We're 3 out, which is nothing. There are 12 weeks left. He can do some damage.
  7. Saw the highlights of the game. Couldn't believe the small crowd. Remember when Cleveland had that long streak of selling out every game? Was that 10 years ago? Or about 10 years ago? That place was dead. -- Jose is just dealing. His arm seems so healthy and lively. Can he keep this up?? Man. He throws smoke. -- Paulie is a gem. So consistent this year it's scary. I guess last year truly was the so called "off year." Remember when some fans turned on him a year ago? Classic example of not standing by who seems to be a great guy and great White Sox player. -- Beckham has had an amazing three games in a row. Isn't he something like 8 for 12? Man. -- Once again, nobody is blaming Greg Walker now. You can't have it both ways. Either he's a good hitting coach or not. Nobody gets credit when the bats are rolling like now. But in the 9 shutouts we want his butt fired. It's the players, people. The coaching has little to do with it either way. Walk puts in the time with the players and gives them a chance to succeed with watching film, making sure they can get extra BP, etc. -- Great to see the new backup catcher hit the bomb. Crucial to have him available against lefties when Oz feels AJ isn't up to it. Caught the postgame show on the score with a clear signal tonite. Man the fans from the South Side are pumped up. Two guys said we had the best rotation in baseball. Ranger didn't agree completely. GO SOX.
  8. Our bats are definitely heating up with the weather (like some of you assured us it would). When you hit like this, the naysayers shut up, the ones who want Walker out. (Big time knock on wood; yes, baseball gods I realize we can get shut out tonight; we've had 9 shutout losses).
  9. Man, baseball is a weird sport. We just bash Cliff Lee a year after he just mowed everybody down. How can any team in baseball give a pitcher a big contract? You just never know with most pitchers from year to year (except Buehrle of course).
  10. If it was just a cloudburst, did they tell him to just get through the inning? Hope our middle relief is on tonight. We need a good outing from those guys.
  11. How long did Robin struggle his rookie year before he showed he was a star? Beckham's rise has been way ahead of Robin's, right?
  12. Do you guys think there's any hope of getting the game in? I really want Beckham to keep his 3 hits. His average is over .260 now. He needs this roll. How about Dye? My god. What a stud.
  13. We're hosed. Hopefully the umpires will be fair and wait hour after hour cause this game is ours.
  14. Wasn't this guy a first-round draft pick? Sad. He needs to reinvent himself as a speedy slap hitter.
  15. How is Lillibridge hitting in the minors? I'm too lazy to look it up.
  16. WHy would they have to send a scout to look at Dye? Doesn't EVERYBODY know everything there is to know about Dye? He's a stud.
  17. Remember when Gavin was struggling? Maybe Clayton can turn it around as well.
  18. Great line. If Lexi is out, it might be worth doing it tomorrow though, just for grins. The pitch hit him in the head?? WTF. Concussion?
  19. Nice. We get good starting pitching like this and get another bat going in Beckham and Lexi of late and we surge to .500. We had too many automatic outs before. Let's keep winning. Great start to a series. Usually we lose the first one then play good ball. Was Dotel throwing meat in there since we had the lead or ? He gave up two dingers right? I didn't see it on tv.
  20. That's why they call 'em insurance runs. Hope the guys quietly celebrate the return to .500 and don't feel bad that the Tribe came back in the bottom of the ninth a bit. I only say this cause I didn't see it on TV and saw a post that said it looked like our guys were deflated, I assume coming off the field on TV.
  21. But who the heck would want Pods? We picked him up off scrapheap and he's doing well in our jersey. Nobody else is going to give up anything for him but some Triple A hack.
  22. Where do the WC Thunderbolts play? Somewhere South? I grew up in Mt. Greenwood. Lot of baseball fans there. Any of you ever seen the Mt Greenwood LL complex? Is it still pretty good as it was when I was little?
  23. Nobody's going to give us squat for Pods. He's ours for the season. Anybody could have picked him up when we did. We just have to hope he can stay on this roll.
  24. I think the cheap entertainment thing would keep them a strong option for people, but I have no idea how any of those teams draw. I would assume tickets are that of a movie. 10 bucks or so for a good seat? That's pretty good out in suburbia. Don't have the hassle of going into the city and still get to see a game.
  25. Maybe, but he might be one of those notorious slow starters as well. He's really heating up and his average is climbing rapidly. Knock on wood.
