  1. These 2 losses to the Yankees reminded me of last year. Hopefully we're not about to drop back into mediocruddy after a great start. You've got to admit these 2 games were not good.
  2. Our middle relief needs to emerge. Are you guys hopeful it will? Or will it be disaster leading up to Bobby again this year.
  3. Then why do we keep picking them up? I thought Dotel might break the hex.
  4. Good point. I just thought with the bases loaded in the seventh there was the chance for some big time magic and dramatics. But no big hit. Add to that some relief woes and you get what I consider the first real "painful" loss of a good start.
  5. Former KC Royals pitchers don't do too well on the South Side for some reason.
  6. That was a frustrating loss I'd say, wouldn't you.
  7. I'd rather keep Crede but if the Sox make the World Series again, it's all win/win. Unless Fields' confidence has been shattered by not being in the big leagues when he should be in the big leagues, he will be a nice addition next year. Crede will be in the lousy position of having to continue producing with a new team for huge bucks with fans demanding he be worth the money and years, when I would assume his back would be an issue at some point. If his back remains healthy forever, kudos to Joe with all the hard hacks those guys take in games and BP and all the bending for grounders.
  8. Where do you all think Big Hurt will end up? I'd think the Royals would acquire him and DH him and put Butler at first base. Think of him facing us 18 times this season? Yikes. Do you think the reason the Jays soured on him is he's a big blob now who can't run at all?
  9. I so want to eat crow and have Danks and Floyd keep excelling like this. If this continues ... KW again shoves it up the butt of many critics. So far, great job. Today's effort ... wow.
  10. Don't say things you have no clue as to whether they are true or not. How do you know Konerko doesn't care about winning? Give me a break.
  11. Thome and Konerko with the bombs. Amazing they are both hitting .180 and yet the Sox are rolling. Great start to the season for the first-place Sox.
  12. Did Jose pitch quickly tonight? I'm assuming yes. If so ... man, that's the formula. Somebody needs to keep reminding him or kicking him in the butt to do it every game. If he didn't pitch quickly tonight then ignore this note.

I was wondering the same thing about me. I've expressed my fondness for Crede in the past. So far cheers for Crede, Danks and Floyd. Can they keep it up? Hope so.
  14. I guess 7-5 is a pretty good start. Hopefully we can come back today and split the series. Hate to waste such a great effort at home by Mark. You'd think we could have scored 3 lousy runs in a matchup that favored the Sox in the Sox park. Oh well. Danks today, how bout a 7-1 win?
  15. I hate when we play like s*** and lose at home. Magical seasons are when you set the tone early especially at home. I know, it's still early. No worries, just sucks tonight.
  16. I feel sorry for him. That said do any of you dislike ultra tall pitchers as much as I do? Tom Seaver was what, 5-11? With the exception of Randy Johnson, do you like tall pitchers?
  17. thanks all. got to go to the alamodome. after tonight i'll be able to start following the Sox closer. Go Sox!
  18. Does Javy have a tired arm? Just kiddin.
  19. thanks, i'm in san anton. thought i'd ask you guys for the update. is the game free on the web anywhere? mlb.com?
  20. what's the score? I'm stuck away from tv.
  21. Great road trip after the two losses. Amazing stuff. The key now is to start setting the tone for home field dominance. If we can play like that on the road and excel at home, we'd be a contender. We've seen seasons where the Sox rule at home and those where they are nothing special. Like somebody said, let's beat a Twins team that on paper isn't as good as others they've had. No steps back after a great road trip.
  22. Positive or negative comments don't bother me. I like them all. I just didn't like those who called Garland "Judy" despite him being an above average major league pitcher. Other than that, I love all posts.
  23. Harold is one smart man. Hope the Sox do that all year. Hit it where it is pitched. Novel concept.
  24. Love the posts, but like somebody said, Dotel needs to pick it up. He's definitely a game one goat wouldn't you say??
  25. I agree with you, why not call him a stud though? He's damn good. He's been really good over a pretty long period of time. But because he pitched for our Sox so many took him for granted. Again, one game is not a full season, but if we're serious about winning a pennant, we need 3 solid starters. Losing Garland IMO potentially wrecked our rotation. We shall see. I'm pullin for Danks n Floyd.
