And that's a White Sox loser
You think Masset going four innings and giving up five hits and three walks is SOMETHING? Give me a f***ing break. Seriously, are you a relative of Masset? What's your problem? If you said Thornton pitched well that might be different. Two innings, no hits, four strikeouts. Masset's line is a joke for a starting pitcher.

Nick Masset to start on Wed at Twins??
How many times does it seem like the Sox get shut down when some other team pitches some guy you've never heard of? Seems like a lot. Then we go with Masset. You think we'd get a good outing? How about four innings, five hits, three walks. Not great.

And that's a White Sox loser
That's what we said last year. That's the problem. It's time for Swisher and Cabrera to do what Oz and everybody said they were doing the first couple weeks of the season, bringing the "new attitude." Talk is cheap.

Masset (0-0) vs. Blackburn (1-1)- 12:10 CDT, CSN
This team is going nowhere if it has the kind of home record it has and goes on the road and drops series to the likes of the Twins. At some point this team needs to start doing something if it hopes to squeak into the playoffs.

And that's a White Sox loser
Our ss's lack of hitting is growing tiresome. The Sox can't get a clutch hit to save their lives. As expected we just gave away today's game. Masset was nothing. Our ss needs to bat ninth. Maybe we should go back to the days of Pudge Fisk and bat AJP second. Didn't Pudge bat second for a while there? Like somebody said in a recent post. Our only wins have been dramatic pull it out of our asses late. Our losses have been frustrating. If this keeps up, the new clubhouse attitude (Swish, Cabrera) won't mean s***.

Nick Masset to start on Wed at Twins??
I love Oz, but it seems he's really concerned with resting players. Now that our ss finally got 2 hits in a game, he better not rest amorrow.

Nick Masset to start on Wed at Twins??
I hope starting Masset isn't just conceding a game to the Twinks. Going 0-2 at Minnesota is not a sign of a contending team.

Would A Change at the Top Benefit the White Sox
Are you all for a Richar for Uribe swap? We could use another young guy's enthusiasm. Uribe sucks at the plate as many of you have pointed out all season. Oops I just saw in another thread Richar is out til June. That's not good if that's true.

4/29 - SOX @ MIN, 7:10 CT, WCIU
I don't think our guys are capable of this. They won't hit it where it is pitched more often than not.

8/25 Gm. 1 - SOX vs./@ BAL, 5:05 CT, CSN
Cut bait on Uribe. Second basemen are a dime a dozen. When will Danny be ready. When he's healthy, insert him in lineup.

Carlos Quentin
Is Fields that good a defender? Paulie isn't bad and he's proven.

One year ago....
I don't think discussing red flags is so negative a thing. I do agree with him that the Sox performance at home is a potential problem and worthy of red flag status even this early. I agree there's reason for great optimism and I think we're better this year, but I am a bit concerned about the Sox play at home.

Carlos Quentin
I hope it's a minor skid. Major is like a Ryan Howard 2-for-35. That would not be good.

8/25 Gm. 1 - SOX vs./@ BAL, 5:05 CT, CSN
Great quote from Paulie in today's AP story on the game. You need to have a 4-3 homestand. 3-4 is not good. One game does not make a season but there is no reason to split with the Orioles.

THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
What great at bats by Anderson. He looks like a ballplayer or at least did tonight. If Swish doesn't start hitting better ...?
-
Carlos Quentin
I finally got to see a couple games and I also love Quentin's promise. He looks like he has a clue at the plate. Kind of reminds me of Maggs or somebody like that.

MacDougal optioned to Charlotte
I detest MacDougal. Is Wasserman the guy with the funny delivery? I forget his delivery. Is he a hack or is there hope he can get the job done?

Some puzzling moves...
Yet sitting out a year announcing made him a genius. It'd be easy to be Ozzie if he had some bullpen arms that would be reliable. I thought Linebrink's effort was disappointing last night as well as Thornton, though Linebrink caught a bad break on the inside strike called a ball. Boone was great that one inning to get the ship righted again.

Remember the Opposite Field???
I agree with you, but it is pretty apparent Jim is trying to hit a home run every time to the plate. I do get amazed and amused at the situation you present. Guy on second they are in that shift and he grounds out to right field. Makes no sense, yet it does cause he is paid to hit hrs like Rongey said. It just really looks kind of stupid when he grounds out to right field with a man on second in a close game late in the game, when a dribbler to the nonexistent third baseman into left field would mean a run. Baseball's a funny game.

Remember the Opposite Field???
Those shifts really are frustrating. I hate when Thome grounds out to rightfield. I know it's a stupid idea, but if Thome in the long offseason learned how to plop a bunt or even a half swing in the vicinity of third base, he'd hit 1.000 on the season. Everybody was laughing when Thome had that checked swing hit to third the other day. I didn't laugh. I was happy he was on first base. I'd think he'd be somewhat embarrassed the times he grounds out to right field. I like Thome a lot, but why not smash the ball where it is pitched like the basis of this thread suggests? He's powerful enough to hit a lot of homers like that one to leftcenter yesterday.

4/25 Gamethread: Sox (12-9) vs Orioles (13-9), 7:11 CSN+
That's what I was thinking when it got washed. Hopefully Danks can keep up what he's been doing and Masset can step up. You've got to beat teams like the O's at home. Yes, I realize the O's with two wins tonight would have an amazing 15-9 record.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
After moaning about the first two games of the series resembling last year, I have to say I really enjoyed watching the last 5 innings of this game. I thought Linebrink (sp) got screwed on that inside fastball that should have been strike three, though I wasn't crazy about the way he pitched or the way Thornton pitched. Wow on the winning rally. Wow on Thome's blast. Nice job by Floyd considering the delay. The two hits to plate the winning run were both awesome. Love Joe's knack of getting the big hit. Love Bobby. Concerned about Dye's injury. Not crazy about the bullpen. Great win. NOT anything like last year. Great job by the Sox pulling it out.

Negative Catch All ~ House of Blues
Yeah it doesn't take much to get back in it. They have been beating some bad teams. I don't like the fact we're really not playing that well at home.

Negative Catch All ~ House of Blues
The hitting was painful to watch tonight.

White Sox vs. Yankees, 4/23, 7:11, ESPN
Of course you are referring to last year. I haven't said much this year about the team to agree with or disagree with either way. The board appears kind of dead. I'm definitely in a wait and see mode before I say something stupid I may regret. I just hope all the talk about added intensity on the team wasn't just the Sox getting out of the gate fast. The last two games have sucked against top competition.
