  1. That quote, taken from the AP story about the game. The story also mentioned ,, • The Red Sox outscored Chicago 46-7 in the series. Boston scored at least 10 runs in each game, only the fourth time that has happened in a four-game series since 1900, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. It’s the first time it has happened in the American League in 85 years. The St. Louis Browns did it in 1920 and 1922, and the Colorado Rockies in 1996. Boston’s run total in the series was the most for the franchise since it scored the same amount against the Browns in 1949. Nice job, White Sox • The loss dropped the White Sox to 18 games under .500 for the first time since 1989. The only team in the majors with a worse record is Tampa Bay, which visits U.S. Cellular Field on Monday for a makeup game. Nice job, Sox Tavarez makes the Sox hitters look like Little Leaguers, with all due apology to Georgia's Little League team. My god, like Ozzie said if the team tried to be this bad it couldn't be this bad!!!

Good post Irish. I'm from Mt. Greenwood as well. Except for my 2B, did you like my quick fix of the team? How would you fix it for next year.

Obviously we absolutely need to sign Hunter, although he is 32 and will be 33 next season. He will help the order a lot. Dye and Hunter on paper will be 2/3 of a pretty good outfield. Either Pods or Owens or Fields can play lf. Then we need to acquire Renteria and hope the rest of the guys who had bad seasons suddently have good seasons. Look at this lineup Owens or Fields lf Renteria ss Hunter cf Thome dh Paulie 1b Dye rf AJP c with a healthy Hall playing against a LOT of lefties Crede 3b Ozuna or Cintron 2B, or somebody we acquire cheap (trade for Grudzalanek?) if Richar is our second baseman we're in a world of hurt Mark, Jon, Vaz, Danks, Floyd (or sign a veteran starter) Sign a free agent reliever to go with the current cast of stiffs Bobby closer You have to admit the addition of Hunter, Renteria and some "name" second baseman we can get on the cheap to go with a veteran starter and I've fixed our team. And yes I've simply released Contreras. I defy you to come up with a better solution than what I've proposed.
  4. Not embarrassed to be a Sox fan, but you have to be "embarrassed" at the way the Red Sox have owned our boys the last couple days. I mean, what other word can you use but "embarrassing" to describe their horses*** effort.
  5. At least AJ got visibly pissed today when that no name hack in left field didn't get the ball into the infield costing the Sox a run.
  6. It must have been hell sitting there listening to those assholes as their team pummeled our team mercilessly.
  7. Keep those L's coming. So embarrassing to get owned by the Red Sox in the Cell. Obviously the players don't care. I haven't heard about anybody turning over any tables in the clubhouse or breaking anything. They just go out every day and lose. Nice job Sox.

Second basemen are a dime a dozen. Hitting sub .200 is not so good. The Sox brass better make some good decisions on whether these young guys have the tools or not. I can't imagine the fans turning out in these numbers again next year if the product remains this horses***.
  9. 14-2? What a bunch of wimps on the Sox this year. Beaten up by the Big Bad Bosox three games in a row. I hope Buckvich, MacDougal and Thornton are NOT invited to spring training next year. Get rid of all of them.
  10. Thanks Soxfan. That 76 team was horrid.
  11. I feel Fathom's pain. Going to that debacle. What's it like at the Cell when the team is getting clubbed like that? Is it dead silent? Are fans just talking about how bad the team is or joking about winning it all just 2 years ago?
  12. This team is pretty darn bad. This begs the question. What's the worst team in "modern" Sox history? Please name the team and give me names of some players on that team. I wonder if at this point of the season this team could beat that team.
  13. Yeah, but "just letting them pitch" can be pretty ugly. I mean we could win 40-50 games if we completely retool the whole pitching staff. If those two guys plus Danks and Floyd are four of our five starters, we wouldn't win 50 games.
  14. Can you believe the scores of these 2 games? Pound for pound the Sox are the worst team in baseball two years after being the best. That is simply imposible to believe!!! Man, there are so few new threads on the site. Where oh where have the new threads gone ... oh where oh where can they be?
  15. That was a ridiculous decision to let Hall play hurt. To see such a big guy be a singles hitter is sad. Hope he's not around next year.
  16. You made the right call Forrest. What a horrible game this has been. Schilling is killing the weak-ass Sox lineup. I do commend you for going to Game One. Our fans have been awesome this year supporting this horrible horrible team.
  17. The only hope for next year is if the long ball returns (we need lively balls) because you said it all, we have no speed. Crede will be back and Fields will be in the outfield going with all those other slow baserunners you mentioned. It's home run or bust for this team offensively. I hope baseball goes back to the live ball next year. p.s.This might be the easiest win of Schilling's career tonight.
  18. Why am I watching this game? I must go and buy a 12 pack to continue. Congratulations White Sox on fielding this piece of s*** team this season. What an embarrassment.
  19. Agreed. And we've now added another lousy pitcher to the group for next year: Myers.
  20. Garland strikes me as kind of a flake. The fact the veterans gave up long ago, him included, makes me think he can bounce back next year if the Sox put together a team that can get off to a good start and look like a contender. It's obvious he's given up on this season.
  21. Re. Garland, You can't judge anything right now about Garland and the others. The team is a wasted piece of s*** this season. The veterans gave up long ago. I don't know who you want in your rotation, but Garland is as good a pitcher to plug in there as anybody else you are going to come up with. Last place ... get used to it. They're gonna be there a while.
  22. One thing we know for sure. If Thome joins another AL team, especially in our division, he'll whack about an average of a homer a game versus the Sox.
  23. Considering he's made some nice catches of late and has some good games, the question remains, is he a starter next year or not?
  24. Brian Anderson sure looked like a player in his uniform. Too bad he couldn't hit a lick. Another hyped prospect probably won't hit for squat.
  25. Chalk this loss up to the bullpen again. I can see why Myers was dumped by his previous team. Submarine lefty? Give me a break. Nice comeback but we were down by too many runs against a similarly s*** team.
