  1. Why in the world would you want MacDougal and Thornton? What in the world have they shown you? MacDougal is a disgrace to the fine White Sox uniform.
  2. Amen. And no Cisco. No MacDougal. No Richar (sorry Richar lovers). No Thornton. No Boone. No Uribe. No Floyd or Danks. No Erstad, my god, no Erstad. That's a good list for starters. And no Walker. And no Owens except as a reserve.
  3. So would Kenny for putting this horsecrap team together. Erstad. Yeah he was a savior. This s*** bullpen ... nice job KW.
  4. How many former White Sox just beat up on the White Sox? I realize Sosa played for the team a long time ago ... but wow. When will this nightmare end? All the Sox do is lose.
  5. Tizzle said it all. Yes all Sox fans should forever be grateful to this cast of characters who won it all. I think they all deserve the benefit of the doubt for 2 seasons. I never thought of it that way til Tizzle brought it up. I'd think starting next season everybody should be judged with a clean slate, like Tizzle said. But I think they did all deserve these 2 seasons of getting the benefit of the doubt. If the team remains Royals-like in June next year, some heads should roll. Probably Oz first, then KW. I'd prefer the other order, though.
  6. Is there one Sox fan out there who thinks MacDougal should be on this team next year? I'd do a poll, but I don't know how. Get rid of that bum. Geez.
  7. DJ seems like a nice guy, but I don't like him with Hawk, either. If Stone is available it seems like a no brainer. Hawk and Stone.
  8. I think next year is the "fire" year, though I would vote for firing Walker because of this year's horrible offense. I could see firing Cooper also because of the bullpen mess. But really next year is the year I'd start really assessing Ozzie and KW. It appears the team quit on Ozzie. KW made some horrible horrible moves this past year and a half. If the Sox stink again next year after all the moves KW makes this offseason, then I'd think KW could be axed. If the team shows no spark next year Oz as well. That said ... it appears Reinsdorf will fire neither. He appears to be loyal to the guys who brought him a WS and I can't argue with that. It's nice to see some loyalty. I mean these guys were all dumping champagne over their heads just 2 years ago. I'm sure as boss, Jerry figures they couldn't be genuises just two years ago and suddenly know nothing about baseball.
  9. I'm surprised Mariotti didn't jump on the AJ/Cooper incident as another example of Ozzie's team gone out of control and asking for Oz's head. Guess he was too busy writing about Rex.
  10. I did pull a Mariotti there. Him botching that pop up the other day concerned me I guess. I just can see where the poster is coming from. I like Thome but the LOVE for Thome sort of amazes me. And he's injury prone big time at this stage of his career. I think it's time to move on. Thome you have to admit is going to miss more and more games via injury as he continues to age.
  11. One of the reasons we won the WS was our pitching and defense. Fields is going to probably be the worst leftfielder in the league.
  12. Fields' home run total is pretty amazing.
  13. I don't think it's the worst but it definitely is one of the most frustrating and disappointing that is for sure. All the stranded runners and choking of games by the bullpen has made it pretty bad.
  14. Ozzie clearly doesn't deserve an A. It'd be hard to disagree with any argument that the team has quit or looks like a team that has quit. September might be one of the most dismal months in team history, the way our starters are now pitching to go with all the other team weaknesses. Good point about Crede though. In hindsight it would have been nice if he had the surgery in the offseason, especially when it appears the doc did a good job and he's moving around.
  15. I tell you what I would do. I'd make them watch that Series on ESPN "Bronx is Burning" or whatever it's called. I noticed in the highlights of the 1977 Series and playoff Series against the Royals, the Yankees were bashing the baseball WHERE IT WAS PITCHED. What a novel concept. Lefties spraying the ball where it is pitched. Other Yankee righties bashing line drive singles up the midde and to right field. In this awful season, all the Sox do with men on base is pop up. No moving of runners, no hitting it where it's pitched. At least the games I've seen on TV that has been a common thread.
  16. That quote, taken from the AP story about the game. The story also mentioned ,, • The Red Sox outscored Chicago 46-7 in the series. Boston scored at least 10 runs in each game, only the fourth time that has happened in a four-game series since 1900, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. It’s the first time it has happened in the American League in 85 years. The St. Louis Browns did it in 1920 and 1922, and the Colorado Rockies in 1996. Boston’s run total in the series was the most for the franchise since it scored the same amount against the Browns in 1949. Nice job, White Sox • The loss dropped the White Sox to 18 games under .500 for the first time since 1989. The only team in the majors with a worse record is Tampa Bay, which visits U.S. Cellular Field on Monday for a makeup game. Nice job, Sox Tavarez makes the Sox hitters look like Little Leaguers, with all due apology to Georgia's Little League team. My god, like Ozzie said if the team tried to be this bad it couldn't be this bad!!!

    Richar

Good post Irish. I'm from Mt. Greenwood as well. Except for my 2B, did you like my quick fix of the team? How would you fix it for next year.

    Richar

Obviously we absolutely need to sign Hunter, although he is 32 and will be 33 next season. He will help the order a lot. Dye and Hunter on paper will be 2/3 of a pretty good outfield. Either Pods or Owens or Fields can play lf. Then we need to acquire Renteria and hope the rest of the guys who had bad seasons suddently have good seasons. Look at this lineup Owens or Fields lf Renteria ss Hunter cf Thome dh Paulie 1b Dye rf AJP c with a healthy Hall playing against a LOT of lefties Crede 3b Ozuna or Cintron 2B, or somebody we acquire cheap (trade for Grudzalanek?) if Richar is our second baseman we're in a world of hurt Mark, Jon, Vaz, Danks, Floyd (or sign a veteran starter) Sign a free agent reliever to go with the current cast of stiffs Bobby closer You have to admit the addition of Hunter, Renteria and some "name" second baseman we can get on the cheap to go with a veteran starter and I've fixed our team. And yes I've simply released Contreras. I defy you to come up with a better solution than what I've proposed.
  19. Not embarrassed to be a Sox fan, but you have to be "embarrassed" at the way the Red Sox have owned our boys the last couple days. I mean, what other word can you use but "embarrassing" to describe their horses*** effort.
  20. At least AJ got visibly pissed today when that no name hack in left field didn't get the ball into the infield costing the Sox a run.
  21. It must have been hell sitting there listening to those assholes as their team pummeled our team mercilessly.
  22. Keep those L's coming. So embarrassing to get owned by the Red Sox in the Cell. Obviously the players don't care. I haven't heard about anybody turning over any tables in the clubhouse or breaking anything. They just go out every day and lose. Nice job Sox.

Second basemen are a dime a dozen. Hitting sub .200 is not so good. The Sox brass better make some good decisions on whether these young guys have the tools or not. I can't imagine the fans turning out in these numbers again next year if the product remains this horses***.
  24. 14-2? What a bunch of wimps on the Sox this year. Beaten up by the Big Bad Bosox three games in a row. I hope Buckvich, MacDougal and Thornton are NOT invited to spring training next year. Get rid of all of them.
