  1. Don't worry, you'll get your wish. This game has 'L' written all over it. Nice bullpen, Sox.
  2. Two game threads would be the solution.
  3. No true White Sox fan wants the team to lose.
  4. Can we have two game threads from now on? One for those who want the Sox to win; another for those who want them to lose? Geez. Take it to the Tampa boards.
  5. Fair question. In Oz's case, I would say it'll be the manager's fault if we make upgrades and suck next year again. Because now, Oz knows that some certain studs are not totally reliable and he's going to have to figure a way to make it work. Nobody on the team outside of Bobby was reliable this year. All the veterans sucked or were very average, and Oz will need to develop a strategy next year realizing this is no longer a WS team. He deserved a free pass this year because who would have known the veterans were human and the acquisitions would suck? If the bullpen is this bad next year, though, that will be KW's fault and he should be the first to be fired. You are right though, if next year this team continues to sleepwalk and suck, Oz probably will be judged harshly and may even get axed. I think next year is a make or break year for Ozzie and KW.
  6. What's the point of being a fan at all then? Why not just be a fan of the draft? Finish last every year and enjoy the draft. The point is ENJOYING BASEBALL SEASON. Enjoying victories instead of seeing your team get about five hits per contest. Fifty below zero winter days are here soon enough.
  7. Like somebody said, Connie Mack couldn't manage this team to victories. The veterans sucked. Injuries. The bullpen would drive any manager to drink. Even today, an automatic win and poor Bobby has his first bad day in a long time. Another loss. It AINT OZ'S FAULT. How bout the veterans WHO CANT HIT (can you say Dye, AJ, Thome, Paulie, Uribe, Erstad). How about KW who put together perhaps the worst bullpen in baseball history. Fields is this season's only bright spot. As well as Bobby.
  8. You said to me: "That doesn't make sense." It makes a lot of sense. Cub fans want the Sox to lose all their games. The Sox fans dreaming of some draft pick that may or may not pan out want the Sox to lose all their games. So they have a lot in common. They both currently hate the Sox. Wanting em to lose. It's hard for me to stomach good Sox fans wanting them to lose every game. Sad, but I do understand their logic as much as I disagree with it.
  9. Don't see why you are optimistic about the offense after that horses*** effort today at the plate. What a joke of a team. At least they lost for you guys who want 'em to lose every day. You guys that want 'em to lose have a lot in common with Cubs fans right now. You want the Sox to lose. Congrats.
  10. Tick tick tick. Time is running out on Jimmy. Hope he gets hot and reaches the milestone this season at home.
  11. This is where we disagree. To me there is a big difference between 66 wins and 86 wins. 86 wins means it was a decent season. My gawd, to some I guess we are at the point unless we have a shot at the playoffs we should just be the worst team in baseball. Sports for me will never be that. I would rather have the Bears contend this year, then lose their final four games and get a s***ty draft pick than lose every game and get No. 1. I'm just saying maybe Gload as the fourth outfielder would have actually hit .290 or .300, put the ball in play and maybe by example help the lineup. I also understand where you draft pick people are coming from, but I really don't understand your position. And it frustrates me (I know nobody cares) to read comments in the game threads from Sox fans so happy when we lose in embarrassing fashion again like tonight (4 hits).
  12. And tickets one generation ago according to that video on old Comiskey cost about 8.50. 8.50 for a beer is beyond belief except in a strip bar in Vegas. Insane. Insane.
  13. Too bad Danny couldn't bat in all nine spots in the order.
  14. Thome, Konerko, out after out after out. Nice job, Sox. Four whole hits. Way to adjust.
  15. Wow four whole hits for the Sox so far tonight.
  16. It's called a difference of opinion, milkman. It's what makes the world go round.
  17. Awesome, thanks for posting. I remember going to so many games there. The last game, however, was so weird. It was a cold September night and the Sox played Cleveland and it was soggy and cold and Cleveland led 7-1 in the seventh and the crowd was so small, and I said to my brother, 'Let's go.' I patted the chair, took a long look out at the park and left. Didn't feel like crying, but man it was sad. Hard to describe, but we had great seats for many years and to hear the crack of the bat in that place was amazing when the park was full (which was not too often). My brother knew I never liked to leave games early, never did it, but that night it seemed appropriate for some reason. We listened to the rest of game on the car radio and the score never changed. Bad bad game on a wet night.
  18. I read all the posts and they all are respectful and thought provoking. Santo's post, however, is the one I agree with most. At least we agree to disagree on this one. I totally realize losing may help us get a better draft pick. But as I pointed out in the game threads, I could give a s*** about draft picks. I don't want to lose games. Winter sucks. I love baseball season. I want the Sox to win. Like somebody posted, maybe Fields will win a few games with home runs. Who's to say that won't help his development??? Maybe Richar getting a winning hit will spark him to greatness. I just want to win games. Nothing will change my mind and I won't change those who think opposite. I still think this has been a good post for respectful discussion of totally different points of view.
  19. Good. Ozzie ain't to blame for this mess of a season. He should fire some assistants, however, to send a message. GO OZ!
  20. Some Sox fans in the game threads differ with me in opinion on this. I want the Sox to win tonight and every night because I am a die hard fan, I live for the season and this is my team. I'm embarrassed by losing. I hate losing. Some other fans want us to lose tonight and every night so we'll get the No. 1 draft pick. I want to know if I am a fool. Do you want the Sox to win ... or lose each game the rest of the way since the team is going nowhere fast?? Thanx.
  21. I wouldn't. Gload at least sprays the ball to all fields and might have been nice to insert in the lineup this year at times.
  22. Great post. The Royals' GM is laughing. MacDougal and Thornton are trash. Players I mean. They probably are great individuals but as players they are worthless. Just let 'em go. And Buckwheat also. He's the worst of the 3.
  23. I'm glad his hit was key. I'll still say 1-for-6 is definitely not a good day.
