  1. Josh Fields, lotsa homers and RBIs. Hopefully he'll hex Santana in the future as well. Bullpen actually did well.
  2. Great win. Fields hopefully will continue to abuse Santana next year when it counts more. Who would have figured we'd win in striking out 11 times against the Sox killer.
  3. Don't worry, with our bullpen you still have a chance to be happy tonight with a Sox loss. Then you and Cub fans can congratulate together at our team's losing. Go Soxx!!!
  4. PItcher's contracts are such a risk. How many years does Mussina have left? He has sucked this season as well.
  5. Yeah, it'd be nice to see Fields keep swatting homers. And Hall is so bad it is amazing.
  6. Better now than never. This is why winning is good now. Maybe we won't fear or suck against Santana as much in the future. Thome is on a mission of some kind. Every homer helps Fields. Fields' batting average may suck, but what he is doing power wise is pretty amazing and taken for granted by many fans, at least that's how it appears to me. Just win, baby! Every single game!
  7. Josh Fields is quietly putting together one of the best power seasons of any rookie in Sox history.
  8. Our players strike out too much. Hope next year we make contact.
  9. If the Sox purposely tanked, they would be fined so much money the team would never sign a free agent again. Just win, baby!!
  10. I tend to agree but there are a lot of people who disagree with us.
  11. Do your think Santana ... suck!
  12. What you say makes sense southside, but I don't think he's going to trade Garland. He's going to deal Contreras, probably for nothing that will help us much. Obviously Kenny will make changes. Getting Renteria and Hunter should help greatly I would think. The aging veterans simply need to get their head out of their ass from the start next year and contribute. I find it difficult to believe Thome, Paulie, AJP, Dye and Crede all are finished. I would think odds are great we'll finish closer to last than first, but I don't think it's impossible to turn things around with just some tinkering. new ss; Hunter, a Howry type reliever instead of the hacks we threw out there the first half of the season.
  13. Actually no, I don't to mean to act like it's a job. I do think it is a fair question you as to whether a true Sox fan would root for the Sox to lose against the Cubs for something as hypothetical as a draft pick? With due apology to Allen Iverson ... "a draft pick? a draft pick? We are talkin about a f***ing draft pick here?' 'Compared to Sox beating the Cubs??? A f***ing draft pick???"
  14. Tizzle's got to be kidding or I've caught him in a mess. Can't root for the Cubs and be a good Sox fan, can you? Just asking.
  15. Good deal, but I was referring to Tizzle since he said he was officially actively rooting against the Sox every game the rest of the way. And besides the Cubs I'd think Santana would be one guy we'd all want the Sox to beat the most of anybody. What bout you Tizzle? Root for Cubs if they played tomorrow? Or Sox?
  16. How you could stomach seeing Santana mow your favorite team down once again is beyond me. Answer me this. If the Sox were playing the Cubs tomorrow, would you want the Cubs to win? I know the answer and it sickens me.
  17. I agree the core of the team is still very talented. If it isn't, that WS title was the biggest fluke in the history of mankind. I agree with your statement. I think you are right.
  18. Damn, I'd love to see the SS Hitmen piece. There should have been a lot of 30 anniversary stories this season, but weren't unless I missed 'em. Pitch at Risk to Richie Zisk. later amended to Pitch at Risk to Carlton Fisk.
  19. I thought the exact same thing when I saw the box score. I'd pass on Greinke unless we can get him very cheap, which we can't since he's the coveted No. 1 draft pick so many of you want so badly. I don't know why some of you jumped on me. Yes I want the Sox to win every game, including today's game. I see no sane reason to root against the Sox. I'm not saying you are not fans for rooting against them, I just think it's misguided logic. There are too many uncertainties about the draft. A win in a major league baseball game is MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than a possible draft pick who may or may not sign. And yes I realize what happens when the guy doesn't sign.
  20. If you are the worst team in baseball, you are a laughingstock. If you beat the Royals and avoid that fate, you gain in the respect category. What is so hard to believe about that? I am not ignorant. I am not an animal.
  21. Sox should have won that series in 83. Bats went dead. Hoyt woulda been ready for game 5 if there was a game five. Bad memories.
  22. Thanks for the vids. If anybody has a highlight video of the 1977 White Sox, I'd love to see it.
  23. I nominate this for post of the century. Amen brotha.
  24. Yes, losing Garland and Jose for 2 younger unproven guys might not be good. Especially with the bullpen issues. I hope Haeger is a starter and never is used as a reliever again.
  25. It's boring to you because you or somebody else often states glee in the Sox losing and I cannot stand on letting the comment go by, especially on a White Sox Website where people understandably in my mind should want the team to win. I notice there are never any new threads on here anymore. It's all about the draft. A one-day draft in June in which the Sox will draft some name we will not hear from for at least 2-3 years if at all.
