Random Garland Trade Idea.
I hate articles like this. Hall hit .254, 14, 63. Those are Owens-like numbers. Garland for Hall? That would be robbery by the Brewers. KW can't afford to make another hokey trade. It has to be one we clearly win. I still say we are not as "deep" in starting pitching as the writer suggests.

Rowand Wants Big Money
I would think Rowand actually would have gotten all the money he wanted had the Phils won it all. He would have been named as one of those guys you "must have" on a winning team. They flamed, however, and I doubt Rowand will get superstar money. I love Rowand but he doesn't deserve superstar money.

There Used to be a Ballpark Right Here
I would love to see a game from the early summer of 77 on youtube or somewhere. The old ballpark was packed every game and the White Sox hit the s*** out of the ball. Ran out of gas in August and September, however.

2007 Post ASB White Sox Catch-All Thread
The Tribe is loaded. I guess I would change my tune if Tulo is a future ARod. He's pretty damn good. Holliday however is capable of having the type of year Paulie had this year.

Random Garland Trade Idea.
If we don't go into next season with Mark, Garland and Vazzy we have no chance of making the playoffs. None. If we have those three and for once add a serviceable veteran (like a Byrd) our starting rotation will be looking good. We must tinker not revamp.

2007 Post ASB White Sox Catch-All Thread
Cleveland is going nowhere next year. The Tribe is scary good. Our division is gonna remain strong. Hope we're not just playing for the Wildcard. The Rockies on the other hand ... lightning in a bottle like us in 05. I think they will suck next year. It's their year. They better make it count.

I want Barry Bonds in the Cell
Open letter to Barry Bonds: Like O.J.will be doing in a few months, please go away. For the good of baseball, just retire and go play golf the rest of your life. You got the tainted home run record; you don't need 3,000 hits. Like Mark McGwire go away.

I want Barry Bonds in the Cell
That is a great line, Yasny, let's see if the media steals it.

I want Barry Bonds in the Cell
A general manager that takes a chance on Bonds will be a desperate GM. There's not a more hated player (outside of SF) than Bonds. Even AJ is not as brutalized in the media as Barry.

Crede to Phillies?
It sure was nice having Crede's defense on a daily basis. If his back is healthy, his defense alone makes him invaluable.

Rowand Wants Big Money
Rowand is a good player. The guys we have replaced him with the last 2 years were not good players. Owens might be a good player soon. Who's to say what he's worth in this market nowadays? I'm sure he'll sign somewhere for close to what he wants. I'd rather have Hunter just to try something new.

Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
I didn't even notice them til reading some old threads and they kind of intrigued me. I usually just read the main threads in Pale Hose talk and trade talk but one day saw those old awards. Kind of funny.

2008 Schedule
Oz better have us ready to play out of the gate. For years the Royals have been out of the race by mid May. Hope that doesn't befall our Sox. We better be ready for those division rivals early.

Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
Hey is anybody going to do the awards this year? Like most annoying poster? Best poster? Best quote in a post? Hall of Fame candidates, etc?

I want Barry Bonds in the Cell
Good point, soxfan, but how come nobody is addressing my age and injury concerns? On the board people often talk about money and how to spend it wisely. He will be a DH and DH only. The odds are he will only play in about half the games or 3/4 if a team is very very lucky. Very lucky. Good point about just releasing him if the s*** hits the fan, but that rarely happens. The team hosts the press conference where all the national media show up and the distraction is not worth the 25 homers he'll hit. Obviously we have no room for both he and Thome. So we sign Bonds and trade Thome. Not bad, but Thome is better at this stage, wouldn't you say? And Thome is one of the most respected men in baseball; Barry the least respected. I mean you folks can't deny that. I'm not saying I'm right and I appreciate the stats you posted soxfan, but pls. address my age/injury concerns on the bum.

Buddy Bell joining the White Sox
That guy/girl is right, of course. The good thing about this board and reason to click on it is you get good Sox discussion, great Sox discussion from longtime and newcomer fans. Nothing wrong with that. I doubt I'd read it if I worked for the Sox. They get enough discussion about the team at the ballpark on a daily basis. The high ranking Sox guy also probably doesn't listen to the talk shows. This is a good forum, though. Personal attacks are rare and nobody is so mean or anal to drive anybody else away. I give this board the highest recommendation. Some of the people on here with some additional job training obviously could work for the White Sox. Why not? It's not like we are all toothless idiots who flunked out.

Southtown no longer covering pro sports (Sox)
That paper now is dead. Death of a good paper. There's no reason to read that paper for preps unless you are a parent. They will fill it with wrestling features and soccer features. If you are a parent, that's great. The rest of the people can read the Sun Times preps for football and bball scores and good enough stories of their alma maters. The Sun Times takes the Southtown's stuff for southland preps doesn't it? Bye bye Southtown; you were a great paper.

Konerko Speculation
True, everybody on Ozzie's ass should be thankful he managed great in the postseason two years ago. Ozzie as you recall let our starters pitch into the ninth inning unlike these losers this postseason (yes Joe Torre) taking guys out after two to four innings. Piniella? My god, his decision to yank Zambrano in game one only cost them the entire series at that exact moment. The grass is always greener. You are right. That said, this trade should not happen. Konerko and Garland?? These are key key pieces.

I want Barry Bonds in the Cell
I forgot about 3,000 hits. I disagree he is STILL a fantastic baseball player. He is not. My gawd, how many games does a guy have to sit out before some of you will think ill of that bum? Again, if he was 10 years younger you might want to deal with this crap. I mean this is serious crap an organization will be inviting upon itself. Have you watched the Marion Jones stuff? Bonds is in for a similar fall. It's ugly. What team would want that for a guy Bonds' age???

Buddy Bell joining the White Sox
Buddy Bell is highly thought of in KC. Good man it appears. Been in baseball a long time. Cheers.

Konerko Speculation
We know one thing: The Angels will deal for power this winter. So Konerko would obviously be key for them. We should try to rob them. They need Paulie. I don't like the proposed trade.

I want Barry Bonds in the Cell
He's definitely a bad man. The way I see it is w/in a year or two, he is going to have a similar presser as Jones did admitting he lied and he's going to have to go to jail. The team that has to deal with that stuff will be a foolish team IMO. Have there been any rumors about what teams want this guy? This guy really really needs to retire. Why the f*** wouldn't he just retire and go away? He's already got the record? He's not going to put that much more distance between himself and A-Rod. He probably has 40 more homers left in him max in his career and that's probably over the next 2 years. I'm not flaming just asking what are the benefits to a team for taking this old f***?

What about this offseason?
Having the worst defense in baseball is not a way to win anything. I like Rowand, but I prefer we sign Hunter. We need a change of pace, not a return to the glory year of Rowand, who is due to come back to earth. We do need Renteria or somebody else at ss however. We need to do what the Cubs did last offseason, some serious spending and tinkering and we'll be back in the hunt. If we make very few moves we will probably finish the last next year as KC figures to pass us by. Although the Royals continue to be hexied. Kyle Davies was not a good pickup for them it appears. They also have some potential bullpen issues if Zack returns to the starting rotation. Sox better make some moves w/out breaking up the 3 good starters. We can't win without 3 reliable starters. It'd be nice to pick up a veteran off the scrap heap. I'm rambling but the thing we've been missing .... a Dustin Hermanson type!
