I think any critical comments of Thome are stupid. I can understand being upset about that particular at bat. But cmon. It's just stupid to criticize a guy with his numbers. And how Brian Anderson and his .220 average isn't crucified more is beyond me. I know he's a good outfielder.

I agree with Fathom here. However our bullpen also can be mediocre to s***. I can't understand why the people who wanted Garland out of there can't see that the bullpen also likely would have sucked. Oz can't win either way. It's not like these bullpen guys are studs.

why would you rather see a no hitter for God sake. Are you really a fan? Great game; bad loss.

Great point about damon's arm. I watched the replay a few times and was amazed. I think the ball barely made it past the mound and funny thing is I don't think he slipped or anything. My gosh, how could his arm be so weak? He does have pretty good range in cf though, rite? That throw had to be the worst throw by an outfielder in the majors this season. By the way i am hurting after chipping a tooth and getting some sort of nerve correction. The Sox eased the pain a bit!!! Anybody on here ever had a root canal before? If so personal message me your horror stories to ease my pain.

I can't imagine us making the series. But if we can just get in the playoffs anythng is imaginable. We are a team allegedly built for the postseason with on paper some good starters and a lotta run scoring potential. If we can somehow win the wild card, I wouldn't want to be a fan of the team that plays us.

And a great call on the winning hit by Hawk. And great call on Paulie's homer. Man for Paulie to go with the pitch and deposit it in the rc seats ... awesome hit. Not a bad gutting it out performance by Freddie either. On a given night we play some mean baseball. Wish I was there; jealous of you who were! GO SOX.

No I wouldn't take Kelly over Ozzie. Ozzie is the chicago White Sox like Ditka is the Bears. GO OZ. Go SOX.

I love Oz but I hope the Alomar experiment is over. AJ shoulda been playing tonight. Mark B can pitch to anybody. Alomar is no savior of Mark and AJ woulda been a nice lefty bat in there. I hope Oz is our manager for the next 20 years. It ain't easy to repeat folks. It ain't his fault our bullpen is average to bad and our starters' arms are falling off after last year's excellence.

I agree Tito, but how much of it is the overworked arm, the tired arm after pitching until winter last year.

I wouldn't be embarrassed to wear a Buehrle jersey. Not after last year. I just want him to be shut down if his arm is toast. Start anew with him next year.

Also you act like our bullpen is clutch. Our bullpen has been average at best.

Our pitching is mediocre to crap this year. We're gonna have to deal with it. It's still baseball and it's still fun to watch. We should consider shutting down some of these pitchers like Mark if indeed their arms are toast from overwork last year. Now all of a sudden we suck at home which is not good news for our wild card hopes. By the way your statement, "Ozzie has shown himself to be a horrible manager" is complete bulls***.

I'm hopeful of Wild Card but not expecting playoffs. If we do get the wild card ... wow, our experience would really be helpful in the playoffs.

Great posts. I read this entire thread and loved all of your well thought out responses. I challenge you all to read all the posts closely and you'll see why this site is so great. I watched Saturday's game and caught myself wondering why I dislike Pods so much. His batting average isn't horrific and he swipes bases. He takes pitches and seems to have a clue at the plate. So is he underrated? Do you all like him and think he should be our leadoff hitter the next couple seasons? Or do you find yourself like me disliking the guy for some reason?

I will say in his absence, the columns were rather boring. They probably should have let Couch write a lot more columns to see if he could have become the popular columnist with Moronotti on break. I think his columns are OK since they seem to fire up our Sox, but they are way too long. That in itself shows his ego. He oughta shorten the columns and go to the clubhouse and write a few off that. He really does look like a puss not going to the clubhouse and it puts the other columnists at a disadvantage. It's pretty fishing easy for Moronotti to blast away and blast away when he won't show his face. The other columnists show up and get the other side of the story and tend to be more fair, yet duller as a result. Off my dull soapbox. GO SOX

It's 10-0 Twins in the fifth inning. This is why I wanted to sweep the Royals. Our competition always beats the piss out of the Royals. We merely win 2 of 3.

I watched most on that one on TV. Vaz was amazing. And Dye was amazing. Will Crede play tomorrow? Great win. We just have to keep playing well and winning series. A sweep would be nice. We better come to play with the Jays unlikely to drop eight in a row.

Maybe true. Not by me. I think he's great. I love the fact he appears to be a flake. His record is awesome. Hope he can keep it up and Vaz and Freddie can make huge comebacks the rest of the way. Let's face it, if Vaz and Fred continue to suck we're going nowhere, not to mention poor Mark's demise which hopefully he turned the corner toward normalcy in his 5 inns vs. KC.
