  1. i was tempted to start a new thread on this but was too mad to do so. The Tigers are 10-0 versus the Royals. The Royals now that they are done playing the NL will probably resume their pursuit of one of the worst records in history. Det. is taking care of business against KC and we got to play the Yankees. This is not shaping up well to start the second half. All because of horses*** KC, who we can't seem to sweep when we play 'em. GOSOX
  2. Fair point, but it's usually all about the benjamins. In fact it's almost always about the benjamins, though Paulie did give up an extra million to stay in Chicago.
  3. It's a good idea to keep a catcher available for extra innings. You got to save a player or two for extra inns and it's wise to save a catcher. Did Garner also save a catcher? I bet he did.
  4. Just like the AL has been lucky in the past 10 games, right? It's not luck when you don't give up and make things happen. Paulie's hit was huge as were the two that followed. Paulie could have popped up or tapped to the pitcher like the two guys before him did. He didn't. Way to go Paulie! Go Ozzieball, AL wins.
  5. Shoota if you want Prior you are an alarmist. He's too injury prone. Relax our rotation is awesome.
  6. Then you would be stupid. You get a spot on the team; you take it. You enjoy it and soak in the fun. Guys who turn down spots are losers. Buehrle is a winner.
  7. Cmon shoota. Get a grip. Mark B, Contreras, Freddy, Jon and Vazzy is a GREAT rotation. And McCarthy is there in case of injury. They have been inconsistent, but there is no reason to replace any one of those guys!!! Shoota tell me which one of our five starters you want to be replaced and with whom? You probably wish we woulda got Weaver, right?
  8. You are wrong about that. I thoroughly enjoyed the run and though I was concerned big time about Cleveland catching us, I was not wanting to run the players out of town. The way I see this year is ... the Sox are going to be in the race all year long and win a ton of games, probably a couple less than last year. If somehow Detroit can keep this up, Detroit will win the division. However, if Detroit stumbles some and Detroit simply has to hit a tough stretch at some point, we will again win the division. If Detroit wins it, then we'll just have to eke out a wild card spot and take care of business in the postseason. KW will be making some moves. Bank on it.
  9. How bout Jones for McCarthy or Garland? One or the other.
  10. Wakefield sucks. Some of the posters on this board would bury him if he was a White Sox because of his inconsistency.
  11. I would leave the starting pitching as is. On paper it's a World Series winning staff. It has to be allowed to play out. If it fails then too bad. That's baseball. We still could use some relief help obviously. There's no way the starting pitching staff should be changed unless injury forces one of the regular starters to be shut down. On paper it's a great staff.
  12. Exactly. Your scenario could happen but how the hell do we know Detroit is going to keep blazing through everybody? If the Tigers do, they are gonna win 110 games and nobody will be within 9 games of Det.
  13. Shoota the playoffs are indeed a crap shoot. We did indeed get hot at the right time. C'mon. I mean if the Royals centerfielder doesn't drop that fly ball, Cleve. sweeps the 4-game series in KC and we may not make the playoffs. Our momentum was awesome in the playoffs and our pitching was great after not being so hot in parts of September. Shoota KW knows this team has some weaknesses but look around baseball. Our pitching is still good compared to other AL teams, except maybe Detroit, if those bastards keep it up. Shoota can you deny the Sox first half is worthy of an A? The White Sox get an A for the first half. The Tigers get an A-plus.
  14. My gawd quickman ... "could easily" have nine losses. So what. He has nine wins. Those are the facts. We also could have lost every game Thome did not play in against the N.L. Ifs mean nothing. The White Sox are going to be in the race all year.
  15. Shoota have you looked at our record? You make it sound like we have a s*** ass staff and team. Our record is phenomenal. We're going to be in the race for the wild card if not the division title all season!!! Look around baseball. Everybody has weak staffs except maybe the Tigers if elder statesman Rogers and the younguns keep it up.
  16. Great line. Keep your $1000 bucks. No way you will continue that streak.
  17. We've had a fantastic first half. That should not be ignored in discussing the first half and our position in the race. The Tigers simply been the best team in baseball. We've been second best. That can change. It's hard to imagine Detroit playing at this pace the whole way. It's possible, though. GO SOX!
  18. The title of this post that White sox may be in trouble ... Obviously it's true if Detroit plays like Det. did the first half. If the Tigers duplicate what they did, we're gonna have to get the wild card. There's absolutely no way we can beat the Tigers in the division if they keep this up. That said ... the close scare with Cleveland last Sept and the competition really helped us in the postseason and that's what counted the most. Hopefully the competition will make Kenny make a key trade also that will help us in the long run. Detroit is determined to have about a 4 or 5 game lead at the break and probably will. Those bastards.
  19. No he isn't. He's the most refreshing thing to happen to baseball in decades.
  20. This story and the one about the man's pregnant wife have amazed me. People can be such jerks!!! Cmon people, what has happened to civility? Some people make me shake my head sometimes. Do unto others is the mantra everybody should live by. My gosh.
  21. I just had to post and say the Detroit Tigers are pissing me off. They win every single fricking day. Geez give me a break ... turn back into the Tigers you bunch of stiffs!
  22. It was an amazing game. Great comeback. I'd like to hear stories about the people who left early. They missed a heckuva comeback, one of the best ever.
  23. If the Tigers had lost today I'd be perfectly happy right now. Still pretty happy that the team didn't die, I mean that was AWESOME comeback, but damn you Tigers. GO SOX! Kick some Pitt and Cub butt.
  24. Crazy game. Hard to feel sad after a game like that, but damn it woulda been so sweet! We had to get em with Thome and Kornerko rite after Guchi's bomb.
