  1. Tonight's win was reminiscent of our World Series team. Good starting pitching, excellent relief, good clutch hitting, manning up to come from behind on the road. As far as the Twins, just assume they are going to win all 4 this weekend, because they are. Only our sox fail to complete the sweep against KC out of the teams Chi, Minn and Det.
  2. The Twins lead the hapless Royals 6-0 in the second. My guess is Minnesota will sweep those chumps in a four game series and that will be big for the Twins as they vie for the wild card.
  3. Good point, Balta. No Konerko and Thome is not good. But I hate not sweeping those bums especially when Det. is 12 of 13 or something like that versus the worst team in baseball and we always drop a game in a series vs. those dolts.
  4. Yes but was Vaz a 5 inning pitcher when Oz wanted us to get him? Is this his history? All I am saying is if he is a five inning guy then KW should demand we switch roles and make McCarthy the starter. A manager has to expect more than 5 innings from a starter especially one who is as highly paid as Vaz.
  5. Maybe Oz should yell at Uribe every day. He may be a good defender, but I'd give him a C for his performance so far this year. Wouldn't you agree C is all he gets?
  6. Let's face it. We ain't good enough this year. The magic ain't there. Our pen is spotty. Our D is spotty. Even when are healthy our lineup is all convaluted (sp). It ain't our year. Can we eke out a wild card bid?
  7. It's KW's fault more than Ozzie's. If he is a five inning guy then implodes he does not belong on a major league roster. If Oz has him to use, he's got to be able to go 6-7. Managers play the guys on the roster. It ain't his fault Vaz has sucked.
  8. I'm 40 mins from the stadium and it's pouring again. Looks dismal to continue this game. We gawn.
  9. Uribe was great last year but I'm tiring of him like Oz. We need an upgrade. He and Anderson tend to make out after out after out.

Crede is damn good. It's nice to see him blossom. Hope he is a White Sox player a long time.
  11. Are you serious? You are blaming Ozzie for Vaz's mediocrity/spifftiness? My god.
  12. I would have to agree. Nine games and up would take a MONUMENTAL choke by the Tigers. It's gonna be a dogfight for the wild card. We're going to have to play GOOD baseball to land a postseason spot. We won't be able to trickle in by playing .500 or .480. Damn.
  13. I really hate losing ANY game to the stinko Royals. I posted this last night and we rallied to win in extras.
  14. It's like that with all managers and NFL coaches. That's why they need a thick skin and why they get paid a lot of dough. It's always been that way in sports. Everybody thinks they can do better than the manager/coach. It'll never change. Good managers realize that and don't stress about it.
  15. It was a nice win, a big win considering the Royals had a big comeback win in their grasp if not for the big DP. Great win mainly because it would have been a really really bad loss. We really do need to own these guys like the Tigers do. Please, boys, do what it takes to sweep this series.
  16. I wouldn't say Detroit "is starting to collapse a little." We are not out of it, but we're also not a lock to win anything, not even the wild card.
  17. Oops, scrap my posts. I was an inning off! My bad.
  18. Did I screw this up? It is the 10th inning isn't it?
  19. Maybe Tito, but to me it seemed just like last night. Brandon pitched the eighth great and stayed the ninth and an uneventful save. Same for MacD tonight. Decent eighth probablly woulda mowed em down in the ninth for uneventful save. That said, if we can't beat KC we don't deserve whatever befalls us. We still can beat them in extras even though Mark deserved a win.
  20. Unf***ing credible. I am absolutely shocked we got out of that inning tied. We need to take the Royals seriously and beat their ass now that it's extra innings. Wake up boys and win the game!!!
  21. I don't know who to blame and I don't care. Thanks Thornton for a dandy save. Thanks Oz for not leaving in Mac Dougal like you did Brandon last night. Thanks for taking the Royals lightly and blowing opportunities and losing a game we needed to win.
  22. I don't think Saturday had anything to do with Sunday. Our bullpen hasn't exactly been consistently good.
  23. Give me a break. Putting in Bobby was a no brainer. For god sakes, he hasn't pitched that much before the O's series considering we've been losing every fishing game before that. Too bad he blew a save finally, but it's a no brainer to pitch him. Thornton probably would have spiff his pants and walked the bases loaded.
  24. I don't know why many assume BMac would suddenly be way better than Vazzy. Can't you picture BMac going 5 strong innings like Vazzy and getting lit up in the sixth also? Garland sucked big time his first few seasons. Watching Bmac pitch this year I don't sense a ton of zeros on the board. Sounds like the deal where the first team quarterback is spiffty and the fans are calling for the unknown. Once he gets in, the backup isn't always the answer.
  25. Damned if you do; damned if you don't. That's why I love Oz's public persona. He tells the world on a daily basis to fish off or basically if you want to fire me go ahead. Second guessing is the name of sports.
