Middle infield???
CWSox said "Yes he's horrible" when I asked "Is Valentin that bad?" I would call Clayton horrible; not Jose. Jose may be average but he ain't horrible. That's an exaggeration I think. 29 homers looked pretty good during that stretch when we were turning the season around.

Middle infield???
Is Valentin that bad? The guy whacked 29 homers.

Batting order
Graf won't be an every day player. I can almost guarantee it --I agree. Graf isn't an every day player. He's a great utility man. Look up utility player and dictionary and Graf's picture appears (cliche of the day)

A prediction Managerial thread
I predict Cito if we aren't too cheap. If money is a factor Ozzie beats out Bell. He better. I don't want Bell. Please ... no Bell!!!!

The Cell renovations....
The fans have spoken with their hating the upper deck. Thanks to cellular one for the money! Now if we can get a team just as worthy as the park with the porch.
-
The Cell renovations....
That would be tremendous. Can they put one in lf also?
-
The Cell renovations....
That will be so neat if we add an upper deck porch in the of. Thanks for the explanation. That would add a lot, balls clanging into an upper deck!

joe torre
I think Torre would be awesome if he wants to rid himself of George.

The Cell renovations....
What's a home run porch? Just wondering. It sounds neat though.

colon
I want to keep Colon. Remember that poster on here who has inside connections to the Sox who said Bartolo was a cancer? I haven't heard much about that lately. Was he a cancer or not? I remember that poster was pretty thorough and indeed you guys n girls confirmed he had inside sources.

Kris Honel
Garland is no bust. He pitched some awesome games. Our starting pitching was not a problem this year except for Wright. I hope he's not a bust.

Can Willie Harris
Are you sure Willie started hitting at the end? I thought he continued to make easy outs. I don't think we want or need Willie.

Gammons predicts
Tona Pena didn't have any experience, did he? he's a pretty good skipper. Bring on the Oz.
-
Billy Koch
Maybe we should make Koch a starter. Just kidding.

How would you rather have gone down?
This post is interesting. I don't see how anybody wouldn't want to go as far as possible in the postseason. To the males on here. Would you rather date Kournikova for 6 months then have her dump you or not date her at all? Ditto Pam Anderson. Jennifer Hewitt, etc. C'mon. You want to go as far as you can. Maybe this is the post where somebody will finally get mad at me and blast me. But I say c'mon. If you would rather go out the way we did than the way the Cubs did you are a defeatist. I would rather go as far as the Cubs did. Granted, we'd now be commiserating about the worst flop in franchise history, but at least we'd have been there. And who the f*** knows? This experience might help the Cubs in the future if they keep the team intact. I also agree with the one poster that I hope Cub talk dies soon. f*** the Cubs.

Please no Ozzie !
Bring on Ozzie. Why not? I'd rather have him that Buddy Bell, Francona, etc. Cito or Ozzie for me.

Hawk's "Knock your Socks off" Trade...
It seems like we are destined to someday acquire Weaver or Ponson considering all the talk about the duo. Hope we don't. I don't like either; I'd rather go with our own guys.
-
Can Willie Harris
I think Willie is a stiff; hope he proves me wrong or we trade him, one of the two.

New picture angle revealed
That would be a great Saturday Night Live skit. Put the goatman next to Bartman. At the very least your idea would be an award winning cartoon if a cartoonist had thought of it.
-
Do you feel sorry for Steve Bartman?
At this time I feel sorry for him. He really didn't do anything wrong. Those fans around him were trying for the ball, also. Did anybody see ESPN today? Captain Janks of the Stern show pretended he was Bartman. ESPN put him on and Dan Patrick had to say, "We were duped." That's cause the fake Bartman said, "What do you think of Howard Stern's Fartman?"
-
How would you rather have gone down?
I'd rather have gone out the Cubs way. I want to go as far as we can. In the old days, that experience would help for next year. but not when 1/2 the team leaves via free agency n trade.

A Lesson in all this . . .
You are correct fest. That opening against KC was disgraceful.

Cubs are gone
We haven't been up 2-1 or 3-1 and blown a series, true. I'm just wondering if the hex will be there for us, next. If the Cubs killed the hex, we might have been hex free next time. That series against Baltimore that one year was pretty s***ty. Sox won the opener with Hoyt then scored about 1 run the rest of the way and got our asses kicked. Dybber got caught in a rundown blowing Game Four I believe. That is a hex, folks. Somebody has to rid the city of this baseball hex.

Blame Dusty
Somebody here at work just heard Brian McRae on KC radio saying Torre may leave the Yankees for the White Sox. Sounds like another urban legend to me.

A Lesson in all this . . .
I never thought of that. You are right. If we hire McKeon, we are champs. Good post.
