Good point bmr. This is what's made our season so weird and somewhat frustrating. We've had a lotta big wins to go with our passionless play on the road. Weird.
-
Congrats Roman. Good job by Big Frank. Happy for him n you. But like he said, Buehrle was great too! Simply great. Can we use this as a springboard? Y or N
-
BMR is da man. Again this appears to be a game that could turn it around. Heck it should. Talk about drama! BMR you are da man. But we are so inconsistent trouble may be ahead.
-
We had some wins earlier that should have been turning points. There are no more turning points. We are what we are. A .500 team at best that has had a s***ty season for our talent.
-
He should be fired for not keeping Frank at first when Frank was so hot. Paulie coulda Dhed. I wonder who we'll get to manage the team next year.
-
This begs the question. Is it JM's fault we didn't win it this year, or are the players just too inconsistent. I am thinking we had a real chance this year and JM may be to blame. I think Piniella coulda won it all with this team. We have good enough starters. We have no team speed but do have some bashers. We have average defense. We have no bullpen. My question to you all is: Is it JM's fault? Did we have enough this year to win it all and just were unmotivated for the most part? Or are the players to blame for their inconsistent play? On paper we look a lot worse next year, folks.

Daubach needs to do something tonight. Something productive I mean.

Good post. I wish we still had the two R's.

Great point clu. That's why I don't understand people saying he's a homer. I live in KC area and people say they can't listen to hawk cause he's such a homer. You and I know he does criticize some. Why is the perception otherwise?
-
We are what we are. A team that when we are bashing the ball over the fence is good. A team that when our starters are kick-ass for 7-8 innings we are good. A team that has no speed on the bases, is pretty weak bullpen wise and still mighty questionable defensively. Our only hope is to somehow get on a tear where we hit the ball over the fence like we did when we won 10 of 11 or whatever that streak was and a tear where our starters dominate. Then we squeak in the playoffs and have to hope for a similar tear in the playoffs. We can't create runs. We have to bash the ball and get starting pitching or we are toast. Agree??
-
I'm biased but I like Hawk. If he's a homer, what about the screamers on all the other f***ing teams? It's a prerequisite in football now to have a screamer for the hometown announcer. TOUCHDOWN!!!!!! Hawk is as smart as any man alive about the game. Sure he's a Sox homer but I swear he does criticize the Sox some. I have heard it. Why can't people accept the fact he has been critical of the Sox??

Roger Clemons 10 years ago. If I had to pick as of now, how bout Neil Cotts? Kidding.
-
Are we gonna break out of our funk? Interesting that JM blasted Frank in the press for his new philosophy toward hitting. Frank is a star, but a weird man. Why does he only want to pull the ball now? The guy has the power to hit homers in the first or second row to rf. Even if he was thinking that, he should never have expressed his desire to pull the ball and hit hrs to the media. The Royals are sucking. The Twins are coming. Trouble.

It may be over unless the schedule maker lets us play all our games at home. We have nothing on the road. We play like guys wanting to get to the hotel bar.
-
Things do change quickly. If we keep this up, we'll be clamoring to get rid of all the vets and play all the young guys. Suffice it to say we are a horsecrap road team.
-
Great post. This is just what I was thinking as I logged into this site. Nice road trip, White Sox. What a joke. Coma ball is indeed back or maybe we're just destined to finish right at .500. If you wanna win a division you have to play like it and beat the horses*** Angels and Rangers or at the very very least split with them. This sucks.
-
I disagree. We should sign James now! Just kidding. He's done.
-
We need to re-sign Robbie. Is anybody gonna pay Robbie massive bucks again?? What team would be that stupid? I mean I love Robbie's contributions so far, but if any team gives him mega bucks, they are beyond idiotic. Do you folks think Robbie will sign for an amount where we will keep him? Cause Harris is scary and though I like what I've heard of Miles, I'd rather have somebody established like Roberto. As far as Febles, I agree if we can put him in our minor league system fine, but you make a great point. If Pena can't get it out of him nobody can. He is a great guy, however, and gives 100 percent effort.
-
I've made a lot of stupid posts out of frustration of a specific ballgame and nobody has blasted me personally. I respect the opinions of many on here and love reading their takes. I forget all the names now, but there have to be 10-12 people I enjoy reading their takes. I've found as long as I don't call anybody names they don't call me names. Even Roman!! I came close to calling Roman an idiot one time but he wasn't even mad. GO SOX!

Forgive me if this is a stupid post, but could last night's game be a microcosm of the season as it will ultimately turn out? We battle back only to fall just short in the end because of our stretches of s***tiness? What I'm saying is we keep clawing back and catch KC or even pass them by a half game, only to see KC build that lead back up, us claw back, and see KC or Minn. ultimately beat us by 2 in the standings, similar to the 10-8 score. I am not giving up, but I'm just wondering if our s***tiness of April and May means we just ain't gonna get over the hump. p.s. I agree with you all. We didn't deserve to win that game. Poor Roberto, who has been great for us, had such a bad game at the plate.
-
Our fans boo some. We've booed Koch, Manuel and others. Is that not correct?
-
If he signs with NY good for him. He can go there and face the scrutiny and the boos ( I realize our fans boo, too) and be miserable like Weaver and all those other guys who have choked under the pressure of the Apple. That said, I hope we get to keep him. He's been a good acquisition, unlike Ritchie.

1.) The eternal optimist would say, "Awesome, he will do for the Sox what Gobble is doing for the Royals and that guy who pitched for Oakland today is doing for Oakland." 2.) The eternal pessimist would say, "Great, this kid is gonna get shelled and cost our chances at a pennant." I go for No. 1!

We did win so that's good! We'll take it. We need to kick their ass tomorrow with Colon. If we win 4-0 or something all will be well in Soxdom ... til this weekend when they play the Rays and win 3 unlike us. And we play Oak and lose 2 or 3
-
We blew way too many opps early when runleys was walking everybody in sight. we just played a bad game again. 3 in a row.
