  1. Tonight's victory was splendid. We need to savor this victory. Crede was good; Colon was good; Tommy G was good. Let's have a positive post. Tell me, who was good tonight???
  2. It is nice to take care of business at home. That road trip had me despondent. Now I am happy. Can we keep it up? Only Hawk knows for sure.

You gotta love Crede's performance. Keep it up, Mr. Crede. Thank God we didn't trade him during our trade mania.
  4. Gordon is doing a fine job. No Botch. Only pitch him when we are up BIGGG or down BIGGG.
  5. It is nice to look in the box score and see two hits in his line. I've been happy to see his line of late.
  6. Amen Nuke. I hope you are right, though I am a doubter when it comes to our Sox. --anybody else love the fact Roberto can bunt?? I love this acquisition. Way to go on this one, KW. Robbie is a keeper with his defense and bunting. That bunt that moved the runner to third the other night was boffo.

It certainly has been an interesting race. I still have no idea what's going to happen. I do think we have set the precedent of being a horses*** road team and that's why I think we're ultimately doomed. I can't see us beating the Yanks on the road and don't we have to play boston who will kick our ass? Hope I'm wrong. If anybody has a good read on our team fill us all in on what's going to happen the rest of the way.

We need to kick ass vs. Texas and see what happens in the Bronx. Me thinks the results in NY will be similar to KC's results in NY. Losses.
  9. That amazes me. He is walking that much??
  10. What do ya think southsider? Is this the time we keep first?? Or do we dip to crumminess again soon? Gut feelings??

Well, we are back where we want to be. Tied again. This time ... do we finally take off and win the pennant? Or do we do the same stuff we've been doing? We're back from the ashes again. Does anybody have a gut feeling? We did the job in sweeping the Angels, no doubt bout it. Now do we get even with Texas as the Royals and Twins beat up on each other?? Are we for real this time? Or will we soon be four out again??? Tell me as the roller coaster continues.
  12. This will be hilarious to watch. The cheap Sox will start sitting him. Media should keep an eye on this and blast JR if it happens.
  13. Dybber's gaffe cost the Sox a World Series. Hoyt would have won Game 5 against the Orioles.
  14. If we do can him, we better make the right hire. There are a lot of bad managers out there who people think are good managers. Art Howe.
  15. Jon Garland and Carlos Lee have been much maligned by not all, but many. Both were outstanding again tonight. Even their harshest critics must admit ... --There are a lot worst ballplayers than Carlos Lee. The guy again has a s***load of RBIs. --There are many worse pitchers, prospects than Jon Garland. The guy was outstanding and ain't half bad half the time.

Good point bmr. This is what's made our season so weird and somewhat frustrating. We've had a lotta big wins to go with our passionless play on the road. Weird.
  17. Congrats Roman. Good job by Big Frank. Happy for him n you. But like he said, Buehrle was great too! Simply great. Can we use this as a springboard? Y or N
  18. BMR is da man. Again this appears to be a game that could turn it around. Heck it should. Talk about drama! BMR you are da man. But we are so inconsistent trouble may be ahead.
  19. We had some wins earlier that should have been turning points. There are no more turning points. We are what we are. A .500 team at best that has had a s***ty season for our talent.
  20. He should be fired for not keeping Frank at first when Frank was so hot. Paulie coulda Dhed. I wonder who we'll get to manage the team next year.
  21. This begs the question. Is it JM's fault we didn't win it this year, or are the players just too inconsistent. I am thinking we had a real chance this year and JM may be to blame. I think Piniella coulda won it all with this team. We have good enough starters. We have no team speed but do have some bashers. We have average defense. We have no bullpen. My question to you all is: Is it JM's fault? Did we have enough this year to win it all and just were unmotivated for the most part? Or are the players to blame for their inconsistent play? On paper we look a lot worse next year, folks.
  22. Daubach needs to do something tonight. Something productive I mean.
  23. Good post. I wish we still had the two R's.

Great point clu. That's why I don't understand people saying he's a homer. I live in KC area and people say they can't listen to hawk cause he's such a homer. You and I know he does criticize some. Why is the perception otherwise?
  25. greg775 replied to Soxplosion's topic in Pale Hose Talk
We are what we are. A team that when we are bashing the ball over the fence is good. A team that when our starters are kick-ass for 7-8 innings we are good. A team that has no speed on the bases, is pretty weak bullpen wise and still mighty questionable defensively. Our only hope is to somehow get on a tear where we hit the ball over the fence like we did when we won 10 of 11 or whatever that streak was and a tear where our starters dominate. Then we squeak in the playoffs and have to hope for a similar tear in the playoffs. We can't create runs. We have to bash the ball and get starting pitching or we are toast. Agree??
