I'm amazed that we never could replace Durham. I thought second basemen were a dime a dozen. I like alomar better than Everett.
-
The only way we'll compete is if we go crazy right after the break and become a totally different team. One that cares. It may sound crazy but that iin my opinion is our only hope. To go 8-1 or something like that and truly treat it like a second season. If we play like we did the first half, I predict we will finish about 10 below .500.

It is amazing how slow we are as a team. Now that I've given up mentally, it's been easier to relax and enjoy the games. I'm not even mad watching Manuel leave Porzio in too long. It's rather amusing. p.s. Nice job by Paulie in game one. I give him kudos for another clutch moment.
-
Nice. He is our best player. Decent job by Porzio tonight, but I have a feeling we're gonna lose Game Two.
-
I have no problem with Mark B. He gives us a great effort every time out. Hell, he should go to the Cardinals. No doubt they have a better organization that this horses*** organization. If he stays healthy, it's obvious he'll be signing with st. looie as soon as possible.
-
We ought to rebuild around defense and pitching. We can't hit, that's for sure.

The Sun Times writer called the Sox the laughingstocks of baseball. That should be our new nickname The Chicago LaughingSox. All the hype about our two great trades last week has stopped. Now all we have left is the reality of the situation: Those 2 trades did nothing to help our club. Nice game tonight, boys. Great effort vs. the Indians, who soon figure to pass us in the standings. Oh well, at least we beat the Cubs four of six.

It's funny how when we win the first two games of a series (I know it's rare) we might as well concede Game 3 cause we ain't gonna sweep. Notice how Det. had no problem finishing off the Sox? Another alarming sign is we have no pride to at least win game 3.
-
We might as well wait until the offseason and find a real manager somewhere. If we promote Backman and we play .550 ball or something, we'll probably keep him and he could also prove out to be a schumuck. Is laRussa happy in St. Looie? Would he return after the season?
-
Hard to believe he had to pick up a loss today.

At the risk of rejuvenating this argument, I don't think Daubach brings much to the table. Do you guys n girls agree or disagree?
-
You are right. The Royals could go completely in the tank. But I still don't like our chances in our 11 or 13 remaining games against the Royals, cause we don't get fired up for no name teams like the Royals. p.s. at least the Royals hit the ball hard most nights, actually know how to bunt and have heard of advancing runners for the good of the team, unlike our favorite Sox.

We suck. At least I've given up mentally finally. Losing five of six to the Rays and Tigers, basically two Triple A teams makes me realize we have NO shot at winning anything this year. If we rally and somehow get it together, I'll be just pleasantly surprised, but today I've checked it in. As a lifelong Sox fan I just hope our higher ups don't ruin any chance we might have of winning in future seasons by making more bad trades. Sure looks like Alomar and Everett are not the answer and all we've done is trade prospects for those two aging players. Here's hoping we somehow get our head out of our asses but as of today I've given up. Our management still has the chance to turn us into the horses*** Orioles the next decade if we continue to make some more bad trades. Way to go White Sox, you should be proud of yourselves. Way to lose five of six to the two worse teams (besides yourselves) in baseball.
-
It seems like everybody our our team is involved in trade talks, even maggs.
-
We still pitched well enough to win.

Tremendous stuff. You are da man. I agree! Email this to Reinsdork

Molto said: "Two weeks ago: THIS TEAM SUCKS a week ago: THIS TEAM IS GOOD Now: THIS TEAM SUCKS this isn't meant to poke fun at you OldRoman, but fans and posters in general." Disagree Molto, Everybody was very happy and cautiously optimistic when we dumped the Cubs n Twins, but nobody was saying the Sox were awesome. I in fact said I wanted to wait and see on this trade and frankly this trade SO FAR hasn't helped us at all. I mean good god we should be pissed off that we can't compete against the Rays and Tigers. Name somebody on here that has ripped any pitcher except for botch? I don't think it's been as fair weather as you suggest. p.s. the name molto is cool.

Why can't everybody accept the fact we are underachieving so much that heads should roll? Yeah we are happy after our victories, but we are the biggest underachievers in the game right now on the hitting front. Our pitching has been acceptable. I applaud our pitching. Mark B, Esteban, Jon, etc., are doing well except for botch. but we are underachieving at the plate, and yes, heads should roll.
-
Great pts. It's pretty obvious Frank can't hit as DH and hits as a first baseman. I'm sick of Daubach and Paulie both. I'd rather play 22 year old prospects than either of those 2 guys. I realize Paulie is still young but it appears he's toast and Daubach can't hit.
-
I wouldn't be against Hawk or DJ managing the club about now.
-
Here's why: We are under .500 and playing like s*** against the two worst teams in the league. That indicated a problem, a big problem. Either we don't have the talent or we have the wrong mental frame of mind and don't care. That is why we are jumping off bridges. Our pitching has been good enough to win all the games we've played in the last 2 series. It's cause we're sick of this lifeless brand of baseball. Look up underachieving in dictionary and you get the white sox.
-
If I had a brain I would stop caring. This series and last proves we aren't going to win s*** this season. But I still care at this point in time despite our piss poor showings of late.
-
The fact Carl Everett is one of our all stars shows what a dysfunctional season this has been. He oughta wear a Texas uniform.
-
Oh well at least we won the season series with the Cubs. That's all we judge our season on in the eyes of Reinsdork, I guess. Again ... somebody should be fired or let go tonight.
-
Good point capn 12, nobody on the team can hit, but I am in a hate Daubach mood tonight. I really thought he was gonna be a big acquisition last winter. We waste yet another winnable pitching effort.
