How do they do it?
Donkey said: I think its called playing to the level of your competition. As much as I hate to say it, the Sox have done this for the better part of 3 seasons now. You are correct sir. Do you think it's because even though they are millionaires they hate working for Jerry Reinsdork and KW? Is there some innate problem where they just mail it in against bad teams? This team needs Lou Piniella but there's only one Lou to go around.

I am done with Konerko
I don't blame ya. He is pathetic all of a sudden. I can't believe he hit that homer to save that one recent game. We need to let him sit the bench the rest of the season along with Koch. Play both of em one of every six games or so.

wtf is this horse shit
To lose another low scoring game to a team like this is bulls***. I mean sleepwalk if you want, White Sox, but win it 3-2, not lose 2-1. Let's face it. Our team has no heart. We've lost three of four to Rays and Det now after getting excited about playing some good teams. At least Rowand got 2 more hits. He's becoming one of my favorite Sox. For some reason I get the feeling he cares. Maybe I'm wrong.

These guys suck
Nothing wrong with Olivo. But I wouldn't say he's our future, not with our trade happy GM. Seems he could trade anybody at any time. Do you guys n girls think Rowand is gonna hit before its over? Seems he's hot.

Thoughts on the Cubs and the Media
Good point, if we win, nobody can ignore us. Obviously the Cubs will always get attention; we have to win to get attention, which I guess is OK. We tore down our loveable ballpark; they kept their rathole that the public loves.

Rios
Funny how many guys don't pan out, but I agree it'd be OK to let him continue playing minor league ball in our system. He stunk on our parent club, however.

These guys suck
Clujer said: I'm being serious...was ANYBODY surprised when we couldn't score with the bases loaded and nobody out? It's happened SO many times that I'm numb to it. When the final out was made, I didn't even get mad -- I knew it was going to happen 5 minutes before it did. Anyone who was surprised obviously hasn't watched this Sox team in '03. Not that we're a bad team -- it's just that there are certain situations where they are virtually assured to fail. Men on base with less than 2 outs is one of those situations. --Yeah I was surprised. I figured we could get a run, dos or tres.

Rios
That guy was no good; we are best rid of him, right?

Foulke blown save
Why did we run Foulke out of town? Why did Sox think he was finished and Koch was the answer? KW should be fired.
-
Danny Wright
Does he throw strikes? If so make him the closer. Is Tom Gordon gonna be our new closer?

Sunday game thread vs. D-Rays
Nice to pound the ball today. Is Aaron Rowand turning into a great hitter?
-
Carlos Lee
Keep Carlos. And if we trade Crede at this point, we are idiots.

*Official* Jimenez traded to the Reds
It really must be true about D'Angelo being a clubhouse cancer. Glad he's gone.

MB wins again
Slumps happen; he didn't pitch like Ritchie in many of those losses. He's young and he is a stud. Roman, Roman, lend me your ear ... please comment on Mark B. now.
-
These guys suck
Roman you are insane for saying Olivo has to go. True his at bat was horrific, but he's shown so much potential. The veterans didn't pick him up; we wasted two good pitching outings against a horses***, young team. I am alarmed cause I think we are missing that winning instinct that lets you dust off teams like the Rays, Tigers, Royals. We really don't want it enough, me thinks. We had many horrific at bats with runners begging to be scored. At bats by many guys besides Olivo. I love Olivo, but hate our mindset sometimes.

7/5/03- Sox @ D-Rays
Great points donkey. No excuse for not taking ball four on that one at bat. I don't like Daubach and Everett failing to get the tying run in after we rallied. Hope we aren't giving up too much young talent because it does not look like we have what it takes to win anything of note this year.

7/5/03- Sox @ D-Rays
BMR said: "Typical sox game. Come out flat, like you dont give a f***, against a sub par team. ABSOLUTELY pathetic." You said it all right there. The team probably will feel good about its little comeback in the ninth. Bad at bats by Dauber and Everett but we I guess we can't expect to come back on the Rays like they did on us last night. This team is so dysfunctional. We waste two very good pitching performances on the road and lose both games to one of the youngest and worst teams in baseball. That sucks.

7/5/03- Sox @ D-Rays
Awful at bat by Big Hurt. HorrifWe are dead tonite. I need to go get some dinner and change the Sox luck. Maybe when I return we'll be winning.
-
7/5/03- Sox @ D-Rays
I overreacted in the first as we got a nice dp. I'm just mad and frustrated that the piss poor, no money Royals can beat the truly s***ty teams and we can't. We have played very well of late against the Cubs and Twins and now we get a break in the schedule and need to kick some ass. Hopefully we still will tonight.
-
7/5/03- Sox @ D-Rays
Bases loaded for Rays in first after we don't score in first. Looks like our level of play is again dipping to the opponents' level. We don't have what it takes, folks.
-
Now that we're done dissin Koch
He's not a reliable closer. It's close by committee or we're gonna continue to suffer.
-
FUCK YOU BILLY KOCH
Soxfanforever said: "If he can't shut down the bottom of the D-Rays order he doesn't belong on this team at all." How true. How true.
-
Koch blows it again
KW is the one who brought us this f***ing stiff. It's KW's fault. Hopefully this will be the last we'll see of Koch on a daily basis. It's got to be closer by committee from now on. If he can't close out the Rays, he can't close out any game.
-
7/4--->Mah BDay--->Sox v. Rays
Good acquisition in Koch, KW. Inexcusable to lose to a team as bad as the Tigers.
