  1. Posting on an off day is less stressful. We all want the Sox to win on gameday and they've been less than stellar in that regard.
  2. Is Baggs OK? I like his posts. He's come close to giving up on our horrific sox before.

    Don't be mad

I also expected us to get swept, so 2 is nice. And it's easier to stomach if Colon asked out. Can we win the Minn. series? We need to win 2 if we have any hopes of staying alive.
  4. I agree with Roman again; Garland did pitch well and so did Colon. He was great. 2 of 3 is pretty nice, but don't you wish we could sweep some people? We ain't ever gonna get on the roll we need if we don't start sweeping some people when we get the chance. Let's just hope we can win the series in Minn. somehow.
  5. To defend myself, I said if Colon didn't ask out or like the one poster said, hurt his finger again, then JM deserved to be fired = case closed. Too bad Bartolo was pooped. Cause he had some pop and I think we'd have won had he been able to finish. It's interesting that Jerry let him walk to the mound however before replacing him. If he said he was pooped, why did he go out to the mound? In retrospect, our hitting let us down again. What'd we get 7 runs in the first four inns Saturday then one the rest of the series? Konerko's flame out has hurt our team big time. (give me the master of the obvious award, pls.)
  6. Good points Kip. I disagree we should have lost yesterday. Blowing a 7-run lead would not have been good.

    White Sox

I'd definitely like us to get a new 2b, ss, cf combination. Too bad we don't have angel berroa and Beltran of the Royals. Who'd have thought Paulie would be washed up a year after last year? Now he's nothing. I'd like to see us keep Crede, get rid of ss, 2b and Paulie. Keep Frank. Keep Olivo and let all other catchers depart. Keep Maggs and Lee and get rid of all other outfielders. Keep most of our pitchers and take our chances there. Though it looks like we need a closer again and I wouldn't mind seeing Gordon depart and of course White.
  8. You gotta let him stay in. Let him win or lose it on a day we were only gonna get one run. Bulls*** managing unless BC wanted out.

    Don't be mad

That's why we should be mad. We had a chance to go 3-3 in Wrigley. Now they win 2 of 3 next weekend and what did we gain? I'm just mad cause we hooked Colon when it was still 1-0. Maybe his finger hurt; if so, I guess I just credit the Cubs.
  10. You've got to have a feel for the game. Our bats got one run which was all they were gonna get. Colon was our only hope, shutting out the lifeless Cubs. Marte did suck, no question, but Koch woulda blown it in ninth anyway. I guess we should be happy with 2 of 3. I guess we should wait til offseason and find a great choice to replace JM. If we fire him now, we'll keep the interim next year.
  11. Willie Harris is not a big leaguer. I'm not saying that cause he just lined out. He can't hit the ball. Very bad loss for our Sox. Shoulda beat a slumbersome Cubs team 1-0.
  12. He was probably smiling because the fans gave him a loud ovation. The guy pitched a great game and we lost this one cause we removed him.
  13. Dauber whiffs. Surprising. He's been relatively hot.
  14. Maybe flasoxjimm is right, maybe his finger hurt. If not Manuel should be ripped a new one by reinsdork.
  15. Good job screaming that Yasny. Only way we were gonna win today was by a Colon shutout. We had a chance to get that shutout. Look for Colon to explode in the postgame when writers ask him about it.
  16. 2 of 3 ain't bad, but why not let Colon win or lose it on his own accord? Since when did we get to the point in a June game a pitcher is taken out with a shutout going? Modern baseball sucks. Leave the f***ing starter in when he has a shutout going.
  17. If Colon wasn't hurt Manuel should be fired. Case closed. I just saw him on mound, then walking off mound. Did he ask out? Was he hurt? We gave Cubs the game when we took him out.
  18. Did Colon get hurt? He leaves game; we lose.
  19. I love the fact we have hit well and kicked the Cubs' ass. I think Josh Paul said it best on some national radio show when I was driving to work after the game. He said something like, "If we play with this intensity in all our games we'll win the division."
  20. Ncorg, That is alarming news that Colon is hated in the clubhouse. Why doesn't Daubach kick his ass? I thought we were getting Daub and Koch for clubhouse intensity as much as performance. And if this is true, why does Frank always just sit back and do nothing? I mean why let some new guy mock people? Frank has been here a zillion years. Does he not care enough to kick some ass? Ditto Maggs. Even our alleged catcher/coach, Alomar?? Seems like we do have a lot of uncaring wimps on the team if they don't tell Colon where to shove it. Agreed? Ncord and hsc apparently have inside sources. I believe you 2 and love reading your info, but as far as explaining, how are you 2 affiliated with the team? I think somebody posted it once but I forgot. Do you two work at the Cell or have some inside player sources? Thanx.
  21. Good point asshat. His first pitches sucked. It seems like he threw a few decent fastballs or sliders, but I was worried after the Scrub second baseman led off the ninth by belting that fastball to rf for a double. Pretend we actually can get back in the race. Is Koch good enough to get it together and close out games for us? If we are going to make a run at the mediocre Twins and Royals we do need a closer, correcto?
  22. That is a great line by Stone. I like the way Hawk and DJ will sort of rip on the Sox when we suck. Do the Cubs announcers ever do that? I'm not flaming just curious since I get precious few games on TV in KC area. Does Santo ever rip the Cubs on the radio? p.s. Nice job by Crede belting the s*** out of the ball today.

    we win

Just win, baby is my philosophy. We win; Cubs lose. To be greedy, however, when we were up 7-0 with the bases loaded and one out in I believe the 4th inning, I wanted to go for the kill but Farnsworth effectively got out of it and we wouldn't threaten again. You can't have everything, but wouldn't it have been nice had Josh slashed a two-run single to make it 9-0? We wouldn't have looked back at 9-0. But I am not complaining. It doesn't matter. We win. We didn't blow it and the guys have all night to celebrate and come back tomorrow and try for 3 in a row.
  24. It sure would be nice to sweep them, especially considering we haven't swept anybody in months, have we?
