If Colon wasn't hurt Manuel should be fired. Case closed. I just saw him on mound, then walking off mound. Did he ask out? Was he hurt? We gave Cubs the game when we took him out.

I love the fact we have hit well and kicked the Cubs' ass. I think Josh Paul said it best on some national radio show when I was driving to work after the game. He said something like, "If we play with this intensity in all our games we'll win the division."

Ncorg, That is alarming news that Colon is hated in the clubhouse. Why doesn't Daubach kick his ass? I thought we were getting Daub and Koch for clubhouse intensity as much as performance. And if this is true, why does Frank always just sit back and do nothing? I mean why let some new guy mock people? Frank has been here a zillion years. Does he not care enough to kick some ass? Good point asshat. His first pitches sucked. It seems like he threw a few decent fastballs or sliders, but I was worried after the Scrub second baseman led off the ninth by belting that fastball to rf for a double. Pretend we actually can get back in the race. Is Koch good enough to get it together and close out games for us? If we are going to make a run at the mediocre Twins and Royals we do need a closer, correcto?

That is a great line by Stone. I like the way Hawk and DJ will sort of rip on the Sox when we suck. Do the Cubs announcers ever do that? Just win, baby is my philosophy. We win; Cubs lose. To be greedy, however, when we were up 7-0 with the bases loaded and one out in I believe the 4th inning, I wanted to go for the kill but Farnsworth effectively got out of it and we wouldn't threaten again. You can't have everything, but wouldn't it have been nice had Josh slashed a two-run single to make it 9-0? We wouldn't have looked back at 9-0. But I am not complaining. It doesn't matter. We win. We didn't blow it and the guys have all night to celebrate and come back tomorrow and try for 3 in a row.

It sure would be nice to sweep them, especially considering we haven't swept anybody in months, have we?

I agree nice throw by Josh. He still had to complete the deal. And nice job throwing Miller out at the plate when the Cubs got that three spot off Mark B. Nice win, though what's up with Koch? He seems like he is really unreliable.

Did Cub fans really boo Sosa? If so(sa) that is a sad state of affairs unless it's all about the cork thing. I mean it's getting out of hand fans turning on guys who they've wildly cheered in the past. Nobody booed him when he hit 66 homers.

I do like the way Hawk pulled no punches two games ago when he blasted Jimenez for not being able to bunt and nobody on our team (besides garland) being able to bunt. Nice win today vs. the Scrubs. Jon G is a keeper and we finally hit the s*** out of the ball and took advantage of Cub walks and bad plays afield. Nice win.

It'd be interesting to hear from Hawk or one of the baseball writers what the players think of Jiminez. If he is lazy and a bad influence that would affect my opinion of him. I do agree he doesn't deserve to be ripped too much for his hitting. His average has been around .290 to .300 all year, right?

Thank God the Royals are beating up on the Twinks, pushing our division leaders even closer to our mediocrity. I don't think we have the hitting to contend, but at least we're still breathing.
