  1. You've got to have a feel for the game. Our bats got one run which was all they were gonna get. Colon was our only hope, shutting out the lifeless Cubs. Marte did suck, no question, but Koch woulda blown it in ninth anyway. I guess we should be happy with 2 of 3. I guess we should wait til offseason and find a great choice to replace JM. If we fire him now, we'll keep the interim next year.
  2. Willie Harris is not a big leaguer. I'm not saying that cause he just lined out. He can't hit the ball. Very bad loss for our Sox. Shoulda beat a slumbersome Cubs team 1-0.
  3. He was probably smiling because the fans gave him a loud ovation. The guy pitched a great game and we lost this one cause we removed him.
  4. Dauber whiffs. Surprising. He's been relatively hot.
  5. Maybe flasoxjimm is right, maybe his finger hurt. If not Manuel should be ripped a new one by reinsdork.
  6. Good job screaming that Yasny. Only way we were gonna win today was by a Colon shutout. We had a chance to get that shutout. Look for Colon to explode in the postgame when writers ask him about it.
  7. 2 of 3 ain't bad, but why not let Colon win or lose it on his own accord? Since when did we get to the point in a June game a pitcher is taken out with a shutout going? Modern baseball sucks. Leave the f***ing starter in when he has a shutout going.
  8. If Colon wasn't hurt Manuel should be fired. Case closed. I just saw him on mound, then walking off mound. Did he ask out? Was he hurt? We gave Cubs the game when we took him out.
  9. Did Colon get hurt? He leaves game; we lose.
  10. I love the fact we have hit well and kicked the Cubs' ass. I think Josh Paul said it best on some national radio show when I was driving to work after the game. He said something like, "If we play with this intensity in all our games we'll win the division."

Ncorg, That is alarming news that Colon is hated in the clubhouse. Why doesn't Daubach kick his ass? I thought we were getting Daub and Koch for clubhouse intensity as much as performance. And if this is true, why does Frank always just sit back and do nothing? I mean why let some new guy mock people? Frank has been here a zillion years. Does he not care enough to kick some ass? Ditto Maggs. Even our alleged catcher/coach, Alomar?? Seems like we do have a lot of uncaring wimps on the team if they don't tell Colon where to shove it. Agreed? Ncord and hsc apparently have inside sources. I believe you 2 and love reading your info, but as far as explaining, how are you 2 affiliated with the team? I think somebody posted it once but I forgot. Do you two work at the Cell or have some inside player sources? Thanx.
  12. Good point asshat. His first pitches sucked. It seems like he threw a few decent fastballs or sliders, but I was worried after the Scrub second baseman led off the ninth by belting that fastball to rf for a double. Pretend we actually can get back in the race. Is Koch good enough to get it together and close out games for us? If we are going to make a run at the mediocre Twins and Royals we do need a closer, correcto?
  13. That is a great line by Stone. I like the way Hawk and DJ will sort of rip on the Sox when we suck. Do the Cubs announcers ever do that? I'm not flaming just curious since I get precious few games on TV in KC area. Does Santo ever rip the Cubs on the radio? p.s. Nice job by Crede belting the s*** out of the ball today.

Just win, baby is my philosophy. We win; Cubs lose. To be greedy, however, when we were up 7-0 with the bases loaded and one out in I believe the 4th inning, I wanted to go for the kill but Farnsworth effectively got out of it and we wouldn't threaten again. You can't have everything, but wouldn't it have been nice had Josh slashed a two-run single to make it 9-0? We wouldn't have looked back at 9-0. But I am not complaining. It doesn't matter. We win. We didn't blow it and the guys have all night to celebrate and come back tomorrow and try for 3 in a row.

It sure would be nice to sweep them, especially considering we haven't swept anybody in months, have we?
  16. I agree nice throw by Josh. He still had to complete the deal. And nice job throwing Miller out at the plate when the Cubs got that three spot off Mark B. Nice win, though what's up with Koch? He seems like he is really unreliable.
  17. Wow cwsox, thanks for the clarification. Amazing how they now hate Sosa.

No need to be negative with us killing the cubs today, but the fact we can't bunt really should in itself cost JM his job. Isn't that what spring training is for? Jimenez should be forced to bunt all BP the next week to make up for that s***ass bunt the other day.
  19. And Rowand even got 3 hits. Nice.
  20. Let Alomar go. He's too old.
  21. He definitely looks like a top prospect. Our pitching has been pretty good. Who'd a thunk it?
  22. Olivo is the man. He's almost up to .250 which isn't bad for a young guy.
  23. Did Cub fans really boo Sosa? If so(sa) that is a sad state of affairs unless it's all about the cork thing. I mean it's getting out of hand fans turning on guys who they've wildly cheered in the past. Nobody booed him when he hit 66 homers.
  24. I do like the way Hawk pulled no punches two games ago when he blasted Jimenez for not being able to bunt and nobody on our team (besides garland) being able to bunt. Nice win today vs. the Scrubs. Jon G is a keeper and we finally hit the s*** out of the ball and took advantage of Cub walks and bad plays afield. Nice win.
  25. Nice job winning with 5 hits. How did we do it? Just think if we could hit and field the ball, how good we'd be. Our pitching isn't too bad.
