I agree no way we are gonna finish 18 over .500. With our hitting and defense I'd say five over .500 would be a miracle. I was just wondering if it was possible we were gonna start hitting. Then all bets would be off.

Good points soxchick. My only hope is somehow we've begun to hit. Do you concede that it's possible we might pull our heads out and hit like we were supposed to on paper? Cause you gotta admit if we can get nine to 11 hits a night, with our pitching, we'll probably at least play .550 ball. Our defense is not too spiffy so without hitting we are dead meat.

I agree we should sign him for three years. I mean our hitting sucks this year; if we let pitchers go, our pitching could suck next year. It's a vicious circle. Keep the good players and trade prospects for veteran players.

I thought Frank's attitude this year has been great since reading that column by Couch in the Sun Times where it talked about Frank being friendly again. I root for Frank. It's especially nice when he's not making selfish quotes as in the past. Paulie is just sucking pure and simple. I still like him but when's he gonna hit.

I hope we keep Colon, also. We have David Wells one year, get rid of him for money reasons and he all of a sudden gets good again with the Yanks. That's why I say we are hexed. Colon is going to excel for years to come, so why only keep him one year?? Keep him.

I sort of agree with Yasny. We had nice wins against lowly balt, then sucked in Minn. That showed we had little to no hope.

I agree with Jim. why not? Bring those guys up and experiment the next month or 2 and bring most of the regular guys up for September when it gets cold again. People might come out to the park to watch this team of minor leaguers if they reduce prices a bit also.

Can't argue with that, Cerbaho. You are correct. Jose V has sucked this year and D'Angelo has hit OK. Jose has been a major disappointment with most of the guys.

It probably would be smart to simply send many of these guys down and bring some up and just experiement. What we're doing isn't working and it isn't very interesting. We ought to send Jon down and bring somebody up. Why not? We get 10 hits tonight which is our most in a long time, but still only three runs til the ninth.
