Kenny Williams is such a disaster. He was a pathetic baseball player and is a pathetic GM. Can you imagine if (when) we fire him? Nobody, nobody in baseball is gonna have a good word to say about the guy, yet we keep him.

It's amazing how quickly Konerko has fallen. His stats are truly miserable for late May. Hard to believe he's doing this badly.

We gotta get rid of this guy.

Yet another great column. He's written some good rips of our Sox before and we've responded with no changes, so I'm sure they'll ignore his words again. Good column, though, at least in my opin.

Getting swept will be unacceptable but it doesn't look like Manuel is gonna lose his job til the end of the season. We've had so many bad losses the past couple weeks if we were gonna fire him we'd have done so by now.

Graff gets to play a lot. I wish he'd become a stud and hit .333 for the Sox. At least he's willing to do the little things like move up runners. Do any of you love Graff or is he merely a decent utility guy?

On a bright note, we are getting good pitching, aren't we? It's the bats that have confused and pissed off us all. Maybe if the pitching stays stong we'll wake up and win 10 of 12.

It's too bad we can't put some good hitters around Maggs. He is awesome.

It's amazing what a bad hitter he is. He can field, though, but I wouldn't want him on my team.

Hopefully this is what Crede needs to start hitting. It's got to help his confidence, winning the game for us like that.

I used to stick up for Jose all the time. I still like him, but do we have anybody in our farm system at ss who will replace him before long? Or are we void of ss candidates? I hated Clayton cause he couldn't hit the ball. Royce would have fit right in this year with our lack of offense.

.230 is so bad it's laughable. Way to ruin a promising career, Aaron. You are done it appears, until you become a star on some other team after we trade you.

Jim, How can you say we are not a talented team? All the experts had us winning the division. We have good enough starting pitching, we were supposed to have an incredible bullpen and a reliable closer. And we were supposed to hit the s*** out of the ball. I think we are talented.

I'm not ashamed but now I'm really worried after reading the report by one of our posters here on our minor league system. Our current players can't hit and we have no prospects. I would think it's time for Reinsdorf to sell. We are abysmal with no hope on the horizon.

Your report is interesting. Sounds like our future is very very dim if we have no prospects. We have no money and no good young players. Not good if your assessment is correct.

Allegedly he and Daubach need to play regularly to hit, so we probably won't be getting much production from those guys during their rare starts. I noticed in Teddy's question and answer in the Trib, he thinks JM was wrong in not starting Rios at the beginning of the season and giving Aaron some minor league time to get his swing down. How is Aaron doing in the minors, is he starting to hit yet??

This may be too boring a topic to respond to, but the other day I was in the car traveling and heard an hour long storytelling session of Ron Santo (hey, he played for our Sox, too) and Mike Shannon on some St. Louis station. It was so cool to hear these guys talk about their first at bats, their first home runs. They suggested in the good ol days players cared a lot more. Santo talked about going out with Don Drysdale in Chicago the night before Drysdale was to pitch. Santo told a drunk Drysdale at 4 a.m. he had to take him back to the hotel. When he let him out, a drunk Drysdale told Santo, "Tomorrow when I step between the white lines I have no friends." Santo said: "Just the way I like it." A hungover Drysdale pitched 9 innings the next day with no set up men and no closers involved. No point to this story except ... does anybody else like hearing old time ballplayers tell stories about baseball? It was a classic hour. I was mesmerized to the radio. I would love to hear an hour with a.) Dick Allen. b.) Bill Melton. c) Chet Lemon. d.) gary Peters. e.) Pudge Fisk. f.) Bob Lemon. g.) Ozzie Guillen. f.) Pete Ward. g.) Richie Zisk. f.) I hate to say this, but isn't Jim a sad story? He once was a top prospect and most Sox fans like me loved him. What's his career record going to wind up? It's going to suck. Amazing how modern pitchers can't last.

You tell me why you are not more mad at the three crap at bats in the ninth?? What piss poor at bats by some of our best players. We simply can't hit the ball and still have bad chemistry. Let's face it we all thought Koch, Colon and Daubach would take care of the chemistry issues and we still have no life. I don't know what the solution is. There's only one Lou Piniella in America and he don't work for us. What the flip should we do???? We have no life.

I agree with witesoxfan. To blame one guy is ridiculous. We were playing Detroit for Gosh-sakes. We SUCK as a team. To get four hits off Detroit at home is pathetic. This upcoming road trip is going to bury us by the All Star break. We are baseball's biggest disappointment by far and that ain't Crede's fault.
