  1. Nice to pound the ball today. Is Aaron Rowand turning into a great hitter?

Keep Carlos. And if we trade Crede at this point, we are idiots.
  3. It really must be true about D'Angelo being a clubhouse cancer. Glad he's gone.

Slumps happen; he didn't pitch like Ritchie in many of those losses. He's young and he is a stud. Roman, Roman, lend me your ear ... please comment on Mark B. now.
  5. Roman you are insane for saying Olivo has to go. True his at bat was horrific, but he's shown so much potential. The veterans didn't pick him up; we wasted two good pitching outings against a horses***, young team. I am alarmed cause I think we are missing that winning instinct that lets you dust off teams like the Rays, Tigers, Royals. We really don't want it enough, me thinks. We had many horrific at bats with runners begging to be scored. At bats by many guys besides Olivo. I love Olivo, but hate our mindset sometimes.
  6. Great points donkey. No excuse for not taking ball four on that one at bat. I don't like Daubach and Everett failing to get the tying run in after we rallied. Hope we aren't giving up too much young talent because it does not look like we have what it takes to win anything of note this year.
  7. BMR said: "Typical sox game. Come out flat, like you dont give a f***, against a sub par team. ABSOLUTELY pathetic." You said it all right there. The team probably will feel good about its little comeback in the ninth. Bad at bats by Dauber and Everett but we I guess we can't expect to come back on the Rays like they did on us last night. This team is so dysfunctional. We waste two very good pitching performances on the road and lose both games to one of the youngest and worst teams in baseball. That sucks.
  8. Awful at bat by Big Hurt. HorrifWe are dead tonite. I need to go get some dinner and change the Sox luck. Maybe when I return we'll be winning.
  9. I overreacted in the first as we got a nice dp. I'm just mad and frustrated that the piss poor, no money Royals can beat the truly s***ty teams and we can't. We have played very well of late against the Cubs and Twins and now we get a break in the schedule and need to kick some ass. Hopefully we still will tonight.
  10. Bases loaded for Rays in first after we don't score in first. Looks like our level of play is again dipping to the opponents' level. We don't have what it takes, folks.
  11. He's not a reliable closer. It's close by committee or we're gonna continue to suffer.
  12. Soxfanforever said: "If he can't shut down the bottom of the D-Rays order he doesn't belong on this team at all." How true. How true.
  13. KW is the one who brought us this f***ing stiff. It's KW's fault. Hopefully this will be the last we'll see of Koch on a daily basis. It's got to be closer by committee from now on. If he can't close out the Rays, he can't close out any game.
  14. Good acquisition in Koch, KW. Inexcusable to lose to a team as bad as the Tigers.
  15. We'll have our chances with 12 or 13 games left to play against 'em including four in KC I believe to pretty much conclude the season.
  16. I've heard this before when we make trades. And as far as capturing the city, let's see if our attendance stays high. I want to see one of KW's trades work out before I get excited. I mean from what everybody says, Everett can't field the ball and he's our cf?? If we can't overtake the Royals, I consider this a flop of a season. Look at the Royals roster compared to the Sox and tell me why they are 2 1/2 up on us?
  17. Summarize the book of Eccles. for me, though I do like the Bible as a good former Southside resident who remains Catholic.
  18. That at bat was so incredible it's scary. He's had a lot of big hits, but I wonder if he'd call that one of his most memorable at bats ever. I know the game wasn't for a pennant or anything, but that was a major at bat for a guy in his home ballpark.

We need to tread water and keep winning because the Royals are going to win four straight against Detroit. The Tigers are sooo bad. I watched some of tonight's game and KC played just bad enough to beat those stiffs from Motown. The Royals are gonna win all four.
  20. OK, the Mets are dumping salary. The Rangers want to dump all salary. Several teams in the past few seasons have dumped salary and many more are talking about dumping salary. The Sox have acquired a pair of players who they won't have to pay much money to and have no intention of taking on a lot of salary. My question is ... why do baseball teams get themselves in this position time and again?? They have overpaid ballplayers for years and except for the Yankees, seemingly see the error of their ways and ultimately get rid of salary. Why have baseball teams overpaid for players, forced the skyrocketing of ticket prices and parking lot prices and concession prices when 85 percent of the time the teams with high payrolls ultimately have forced firesales???? (Cleveland, Texas, Mets, etc.). Is it all because of George Steinbrenner??? Is he the reason for this financial absurdity in baseball?? Again ... all you hear about is teams wanting to dump salary. So why did they overpay to begin with and ruin this great sport of ours?????
  21. With this list of players, we could have gotten Beltran. You knew Hart was going to get a top list of players to choose from.
  22. I like the fact we were down 4-0 in a game that we could have quit early and still took 2 of 3. We came back and then the guys picked up for Maggs who hit into that DP. I just saw the highlights on ESPN. That wasn't a bad play by Guzman on the DP of Maggs. I got to hear Hawk in the background on the ESPN highlights. He went wild. Frank's homer was so high, it was majestic. What a blast. Some of you have gotten to see some great games in person of late. Hope you've had a riot at the ballpark.
  23. Jimenez must really be a piece of work. To come with his reputation and to continue to apparently be a cancer when he's really done nothing in his career is mind-boggling. I wonder who pulled the plug on him. KW or JM? Like many have said no matter what happens with the trades we get D'Angelo out of there.
  24. whitesox said: " Wow, what this win must have felt like to the newbies. This should definately wake them up and show them what this team is all about. Pretty memory first game in a new uniform if you ask me. " I was thinking the same thing. And frankly it was nice two of the veteran Sox - paulie and frank - were the final heroes. Alomar and Everett can be heroes tomorrow or the next day.
  25. Roman must be screaming so loud it's scaring the neighbors. Congrats Roman and Big Frank.
