  1. I'd love for you to acknowledge the hundreds of thousands of protestors marching close together and still breaking social distancing rules has not helped. I just wish people were fair and blamed all factors. For some reason the protestors get a pass. Just be fair and blame all factors please. I'll probably never get to eat a delicious buffet again because of this. And I'd like to blame a whole lot of people not just certain folks.
  2. The Bubble may have burst. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29304500/sources-kyrie-irving-play-key-role-friday-call-players
  3. Yes I love the 90 game plan or just under 90 of today. The more games the better.
  4. 89 games would be AWESOME. Play ball.
  5. Blackhawks, because off sides is an annoying part of the game. I did thoroughly enjoy all those Hawks titles and playoff hockey, though. I think hockey has it right in terms of game time. As long as there's no overtime, it's perfect. Twenty minute periods with very few stoppages of play and fairly short intermissions. Modern baseball takes way too long to play (because of the tight strike zone, replays and parade of lefty/righty matchups from the sixth inning on) thus is unwatchable by young people. NFL is good but I'm not hooked on the era of the short swing pass. Not exciting. NBA playoff action is great but the Bulls have stunk for quite a while now.
  6. I agree. I wonder how this long layoff is going to affect the health of players, especially if we have to wait til next February for the resumption of spring training. Play ball now, owners.

We should take a poll of the white people regarding whether or not they would take a knee and let people demand they declare their white privilege no matter the consequences. I think Butter brought that up. I am not racist yet I would not do that. I would not be bullied into doing that just cause I was born in Christ Hospital on the South Side and went to all private schools. I love ALL PEOPLE and will not be bullied into saying I don't ... ever. I see people as PEOPLE. And I don't think Butter is racist ... he's just a person with opinions, some shared by Candace Owens who is African American.
  8. Are pitchers even throwing right now? Are players staying in shape and taking BP anywhere? It's mid June for gosh sakes. Baseball season is normally storming toward the all star break by now. You'd think if there is this opportunity to play, both sides would be celebrating and getting on the field. But especially the owners. They should be grateful the players want to play during this risk of catching COVID and suck it up one year and give them almost everything they want. The owners own the teams. Do what it takes, be generous and get the players on the field while government and the health experts are giving the OK to play. How hard is this? If Arizona is near crisis stages because of all the cases, this all may be moot soon anyway. This COVID ain't letting up apparently. Play ball while you have a chance.

I've been reading some of Butter's posts and the ensuing rebuttals. Candace Owens would back Butter on a lot of things he's saying and not allege he's racist just making some of the points she makes. To those who have been rebutting Butter ... nobody's backed me on my $1 million reparations plan. Seems to me the $1 million to all black singles and families would pretty much put a severe dent in your comments to Butter. Instead of talking about this forever, giving $1 million to each black family or single person would change some things, folks.

People throw around the word "racist" so much. There are a ton of racists in the world, but there also are millions of people who are NOT racist. Why don't we ever celebrate them? In fact I'd say most people are not racist. I truly believe that.

Omar said she wants police dismantled. The protestors are saying it. Has our education system dwindled so much that people never read books about human nature? Nobody has read George Orwell? Glad to see Biden put an end to this ridiculous notion. He wants police to stay. https://hannity.com/media-room/omar-unleashed-minneapolis-police-department-is-rotten-to-the-root-must-be-completely-dismantled/

Why do I get blamed like I'm coming up with some novel thing when Trump has said it, Limbaugh, Tucker Carlson has said it and it's getting talked about all over the dial?

Should we start a thread on Minneapolis to abolish the police force? Was reading today that when the force gets disbanded that will be it for fire department calls and ambulance calls. The fire departments will want protection from police to put out all the looting fires and the ambulances will want no part of mayhem as well. Will the government give the people time to move out of that state before they institute anarchy on the streets? Need a car? Carjack one. No police to stop you. Need a TV? Go take one from Target. Need a computer? Grab one and run out of the apple store. If I lived there I'd want a few months notice to move out of that state. From what I read it's got the support and will go into effect. No cops.
  14. Had an incredible number of 22 people at our 5 p.m. Sunday Mass tonight in huge church. People are still scared to death in Kansas about corona. Most of the restaurants in Lawrence won't open even though they can open legally. It's mostly drivethrough. I must admit, if I were a church leader I'd allow singing again. This is ridiculous. There's nobody in the darn church. We should be allowed to have beautiful music in our ceremonies. Not to be a broken record but it is disheartening to watch tape of all the protests and people chanting and we can't have 20 people (spread out every fourth row; max of 3 in a row unless it's immediate family) sing in a church cause of Corona. This is all nonsensical. I think a choir somewhere had several people get corona so we won't have singing until there is a vaccine or cure. Meanwhile I noticed the past four weeks there's been one envelope in the collection basket of the 25 people that have gone -- mine. I would assume churches will have a hard time keeping the A/C running at this rate of attendance.

I hope your boldfaced copy there is correct. I am fearful of anarchy. I'm an anti-looting guy.

Quick thinking by that guy who threw the device back into the car. I wonder if they beat up the guy who owned the car or ?

Thanks Tex. With the abolition of police forces soon, do you think that will cause a rise in the looting, etc? With no cops, I would think there would be a rash of carjackings, home invasions, muggings, and of course, bank robberies and the like. With many states allowing you to carry a gun, it seems now a no brainer. Don't these adult government officials who are disbanding the police forces read about mob mentality and human nature? Without police and jails, good luck. There will be no way to have sports without cops. Can u imagine an NBA game and there's a bad call? If there are no cops, just charge the ref or after Game One of a playoff series kidnap the other team's star player. I'm sure even as we speak some gang leaders or terrorist wannabees are plotting their new lives as millionaires. Pretty easy to wreak havoc and make $$ when there are no pesky cops to stop you. Everybody might like a world without cops but the reality of the situation is ...

    What city is that?
  19. It's pretty obvious the players won't cave in. Compromise? It'll either be 80 games or no season, right? I think the owners should be ashamed of themselves for not agreeing on the 110-game plan for the good of the country. Billionaires could take a one-year hit. We shoulda had an agreement last week and already been well into second spring training. Sad.
  20. I'm too dumb to understand the cartoon so no offense taken. Not sure what it was trying to say.
  21. More things open?? How bout millions of Americans protesting every day and night the past 10 days? Corona precautions should ALL be removed and now. We've allowed it to spread wherever it wants over the last 10 days with millions of Americans out protesting both during the day and night.

Couple things scared me and made me think I'd need a gun: 1.) governors and mayors not stopping the looters. They could try to turn my car over and kill me if i'm in the wrong place. 2.) looters entering neighborhoods. My friend with a place in a Chicago lakefront highrise said the rioters were within yards of his building and if they wanted could have headed up the elevators. He is buying a gun this week so it made me think. 3. Abolition of police force would mean The Purge and anarchy. The fact normal people are talking about it as a serious option makes me realize they are serious and lawlessness could be here soon. 4.) the police could get pissed off and freak out at some point.

Thanks again. I think it's now necessary to own a gun. I never thought so before, but I want to be safe and able to use it in self defense. The one you suggested seems perfect, is affordable, and the gun dealer can steer me to lessons at the ranges.

Thanks Tex, I just watched a video and it got rave reviews as a carry gun. Thank u.

This changes everything. Like you say everyone now needs to have a gun and be properly trained how to use it. To go without a gun from now on seems as if you are failing to protect your family. It's irresponsible to not have a gun. At any moment your house could be leveled or at the very least invaded ... by protestors, by police, by anarchists. Time for me to research how to buy a gun and get trained. And the people that want to get rid of all police departments, which have included government officials in Minneapolis, have no right to tell me to not buy a gun. p.s. Is it ok for me to start a thread asking for advice about how to purchase a gun, best gun to get, how to register it, etc? I want to be responsible but I don't want to inflame the board.
