Second Civil War
It is sad that on this great day you google Second Civil War and it's all over the internets. Sad that we are talking about brutally vaporizing each other in this great land.

Guys, Palka has 10 home runs. Think of all the busts we've had the last many seasons. Horrible failures. Well, we are due for a diamond in the rough. A surprise stud. This Palka guy needs to play 6 days a week and see if he can blast 40 home runs. Anybody not excited about his potential needs to seek professional help. Let.Him.Play.

Rescue These Kids in Cave Please
The world has a chance to unite. I don't know why USA, Russia, China don't send some experts to the site of this cave to get these kids out. I worry that at any moment some change in the rock or the water will cause tragedy here. Can't the world come together? These kids could be rescued if everbody comes together and somebody figures the right way to get them out! I pray they get out of the cave. This is horrifying potentially. I'm glad the Seals are there helping, but shouldn't all countries band together and get them out NOW?!

Second Civil War
Somebody told me they were listening to Alex Jones and he is preparing for a second Civil War in the USA. I say no way. There will be no Civil War. People are behaving very badly toward each other but it won't come to War. Do you have a take?

Trade Deadline
Folks, you are only getting scraps for Yolmer. He's just another guy. That said, I do respect him and even worship him at times as a member of the Sox. But he's just another guy on a horrid team if that makes any sense. Greg gives Yolmer an A. Baseball yawns and says, "Why the hell do you think we need Yolmer?"

Irrational fondness of a player who completely sucks
I haven't really fallen for any players who completely suck as the thread is titled. Unless you guys consider Avi, Abreu, Dye, Ozzie, Jenks worthless and I know you don't think that. Usually the player has to have good value for me to have fondness for the player. I guess Dwyane Wise might classify but I mainly was just supporting him cause so many on here hated him and I was thankful for The Catch and several clutch hits he delivered. But I guess it'd be Wise because he was not even a .200 hitter.

Trade Deadline
Not according to all the stats I've been reading about him. Those clamoring to trade him I guess are willing to get scraps back considering the negative numbers from the stat people re. Avi

I love how nobody addresses the fact (because of all the flaws you point out) he's going to be so affordable when he becomes a free agent. The fans who only want young players and to win a WS with a 60 million dollar payroll won't tell me what Avi is going to be worth on the market. Judging from all the stats the Avi naysayers are pointing out, he'll be worth 8-12 million a year for 4 years. You guys don't even want to pay that? LOL. You'd think all of you are investors and sharing in all the $$$$ with Jerry. Nobody wants to spend his money except for more unknown signees from overseas and in the draft. Tell me Avi-disbelievers, what type of contract is going to be so unaffordable regarding Avi? What do you think he's going to be paid considering all the negatives you all point out stat wise?

And That's a Wild White Sox Winner !!!

I won't doubt him. He is a stud. My biggest complaint is the tank/rebuild people don't seem to want ANY current White Sox who have been around a while on our WS teams. I contend Avi and Abreu will be perfect veterans on the WS teams. Also I feel the trade/tank people for some odd reason don't want to pay any players ... ever. Cause even they admit Moncada and Eloy and guys like that will walk when it's time for them to get paid. In conclusion ... the rebuilders don't want any old guys on the WS teams and they certainly don't want to pay Avi or Abreu real money. Very bizarre behavior IMO.

I'm saying you guys are going to say he sucks even if he hits .330 with 30 bombs next year leading into his new contract. You'll still all find the flaws. He's never going to be worth more than 10 mill a year to the majority of this board. So just sign him for 10-12 mill a year when the time comes for 4 years or so. Nobody's going to pay him more than that. he's too flawed according to the stat people even with the traditional numbers on his side.

I can't believe there are fans out there who don't care about intangibles in sports at all. Avi and Abreu are good examples for all the Spanish speaking ballplayers as well as the English speaking ballplayers. My feeling is some of you actually think we can win a pennant without any veterans. I guess some of you might want a veteran starter and think that's enough. My feeling is also you want to win WS titles with payrolls of about 70 million total. Why you guys feel this way amazes me. I could give a damn about Jerry Reinsdorf's wallet. I hope he pays money for ballplayers until it hurts. He doesn't care about my wallet; why should I care about his?
